    A turgid afternoon at Bristol as the game meanders unerringly towards the inevitable draw.

    Wayne Madsen is on 160 and Alex Hughes is on 91 as these two have put on 215 for the fourth wicket.

    The Bristol pitch hasn’t helped matters as there will only be three innings in four days unaffected by the weather.

    That's still one more innings than they've managed so far at Cardiff Bob!

    Brookes gets a bit of luck and flays a slightly wide ball from Podmore over gully for four.

    Four more runs off the fifth ball through mid off.

    He pushes the sixth into the off side and calls a hesitant Sidebottom through for one.

    The throw is a little bit wide and the batsmen are safe.

    Out! Henry Brookes is pinned lbw by a straight one from Matthew Milnes.

    That's the tea break and Kent need 123.

    And that's also tea at Lord's as Lancashire clean up the Middlesex tail.

    Glenn Maxwell picks up his best first-class bowling figures in the process.

    That's his 18th first class hundred, coming in 191 balls with 15 fours.

    That also takes the lead past 100.

    It just might save the game for Warwickshire, who were in the soup at 89-5 when he began this knock.

  14. Record breaking run feast in Cardiff

    Northants have now scored the highest ever innings total against Glamorgan in first class cricket.

    Oddly enough, the club have broken their own record, 712 - set by the Northants class of 1998 back home at Wantage Road.

  15. In Division Two

    Three games still active. Here's the state of play:

    Middlesex have moved ahead of Lancashire at Lord's but remain precariously place on 178-6 and just 16 in front.

    Max Holden and Eoin Morgan fell in successive balls earlier this afternoon.

    Captain Dawid Malan is resisting on 46 not out.

    Derbyshire are building a handy lead over Gloucestershire at Bristol, aided by a century from Wayne Madsen (142 not out).

    The visitors are 230 ahead on 289-3.

    Northants are now eight down against Glamorgan but a draw is the only likely result in Cardiff, where the visitors have passed 700 for just the fourth time in their history in a mammoth innings spanning more than 200 overs.

    They're 712-8 in reply to 570-8 declared.

    The lead is 142.

    Rob Keogh became the sixth centurion in the match and was caught and bowled this afternoon by Labuschagne for 150.

    Surrey 198 ahead as Rikki Clarke joins Will Jacks in the middle.

    Darren Stevens is back on for Kent and Brookes greets him with a drive through cover for one.

    Ambrose is back and across to the first ball, scooping it to leg for one.

    Not a lot going on at The Oval I'm afraid to say where Ben Foakes and Will Jacks are taking advantage of some more time in the middle.

    It's just a question of how much longer the hosts want to stay out there and make Essex toil in the dirt as their lead is 188 with six wickets in hand and time running out in this game.

  20. Quiet passage of play

    Another maiden from Riley, bowling wicket to wicket and giving the batsmen absolutely nothing. So quite the opposite of the Cardiff game.
