  1. 'Turgid afternoon'published at 15:52 British Summer Time 14 April 2019

    Derbyshire 291 & 325-3 v Gloucestershire 350

    Bob Hunt
    BBC Radio Gloucestershire

A turgid afternoon at Bristol as the game meanders unerringly towards the inevitable draw.

Wayne Madsen is on 160 and Alex Hughes is on 91 as these two have put on 215 for the fourth wicket.

The Bristol pitch hasn’t helped matters as there will only be three innings in four days unaffected by the weather.

That's still one more innings than they've managed so far at Cardiff Bob!

  3. wicket

WICKET Brookes lbw b Milnes 84published at 15:47 British Summer Time 14 April 2019

    Warwks 346 & 280 (f/o) v Kent 504-9 dec - lead by 122

Brookes gets a bit of luck and flays a slightly wide ball from Podmore over gully for four.

Four more runs off the fifth ball through mid off.

He pushes the sixth into the off side and calls a hesitant Sidebottom through for one.

The throw is a little bit wide and the batsmen are safe.

Out! Henry Brookes is pinned lbw by a straight one from Matthew Milnes.

That's the tea break and Kent need 123.

  4. Tea at Lord'spublished at 15:43 British Summer Time 14 April 2019

    Middlesex 265 & 200 v Lancashire 427

And that's also tea at Lord's as Lancashire clean up the Middlesex tail.

Glenn Maxwell picks up his best first-class bowling figures in the process.

  5. wicket

WICKET Murtagh lbw b Maxwell 0published at 15:38 British Summer Time 14 April 2019

    Middlesex 265 & 200 v Lancashire 427

And that's two in an over for Glenn Maxwell as Tim Murtagh is leg before from just his second ball.

Middlesex are all out for 200 in quick time and Lancashire will need just 39 to win at Lord's.

Maxwell claims 5-40 for the Red Rose who have been rewarded for their hard toil this afternoon.

    Middx 265 & 200-9 v Lancs 427 - lead by 38

John Simpson shapes to pull a ball from Glenn Maxwell that keeps lower than expected and the ball flattens middle stump.

This match could end in a hurry.

  8. wicket

WICKET Patel lbw b Podmore 0published at 15:34 British Summer Time 14 April 2019

    Warwks 346 & 266-9 v Kent 504-9 dec - lead by 108

Five wickets for Harry Podmore and a four-ball duck for Jeetan Patel.

The batsman is beaten by an in-swinger and stone dead leg before.

  9. wicket

    WICKET Roland-Jones b Anderson 5published at 15:31 British Summer Time 14 April 2019

    Middx 265 & 192-8 v Lancs 427 - lead by 30

A peach of a delivery from Jimmy Anderson that swings in late and rips out the off stump.

Not sure what Toby Roland-Jones could've done about that.

  10. wicket

WICKET Ambrose lbw b Milnes 107published at 15:28 British Summer Time 14 April 2019

    Warwks 346 & 265-8 (f/o) v Kent 504-9 dec - lead by 107

    Tom Milnes has the breakthrough!

Tim Ambrose misses an attempted nudge to the leg side and is trapped in front of the stumps.

Still plenty of time left in the game. Can Brookes and the tail deny Kent?

  11. Yorkshire pick up first win of seasonpublished at 15:28 British Summer Time 14 April 2019

They were made to wait a while to finish it off, but Yorkshire as expected did win by an innings against Hampshire earlier this afternoon.

Read how they did it below.

  12. wicket

WICKET Malan c Guest b Maxwell 51published at 15:27 British Summer Time 14 April 2019

    Middx 265 & 187-7 v Lancs 427 - lead by 25

A crucial breakthrough for the Red Rose - as Dawid Malan gets a thin edge behind off Glenn Maxwell.

Brooke Guest juggles it but hangs on.

  13. 100 runs

100 for Tim Ambrosepublished at 15:21 British Summer Time 14 April 2019

    Warwks 346 & 261-7 (f/o) v Kent 504-9 dec - lead by 103

Milnes bowls to Tim Ambrose on 99...

A bit of width outside off and smashed through the covers for four!

That's his 18th first class hundred, coming in 191 balls with 15 fours.

That also takes the lead past 100.

It just might save the game for Warwickshire, who were in the soup at 89-5 when he began this knock.

  14. Record breaking run feast in Cardiffpublished at 15:17 British Summer Time 14 April 2019

    Glamorgan 570-8 dec v Northants 716-8

Northants have now scored the highest ever innings total against Glamorgan in first class cricket.

Oddly enough, the club have broken their own record, 712 - set by the Northants class of 1998 back home at Wantage Road.

  15. In Division Twopublished at 15:11 British Summer Time 14 April 2019

Three games still active. Here's the state of play:

Middlesex have moved ahead of Lancashire at Lord's but remain precariously place on 178-6 and just 16 in front.

Max Holden and Eoin Morgan fell in successive balls earlier this afternoon.

Captain Dawid Malan is resisting on 46 not out.

Derbyshire are building a handy lead over Gloucestershire at Bristol, aided by a century from Wayne Madsen (142 not out).

The visitors are 230 ahead on 289-3.

Northants are now eight down against Glamorgan but a draw is the only likely result in Cardiff, where the visitors have passed 700 for just the fourth time in their history in a mammoth innings spanning more than 200 overs.

    They're 712-8 in reply to 570-8 declared.

    The lead is 142.

Rob Keogh became the sixth centurion in the match and was caught and bowled this afternoon by Labuschagne for 150.

  16. wicket

WICKET Foakes st White b Harmer 19published at 15:09 British Summer Time 14 April 2019

    Surrey 395 & 251-5 v Essex 448

Something's happened at The Oval - shock!

Yes, it's been that kind of passage of play I'm afraid on this final afternoon as this game meanders to a draw.

Ben Foakes tries to dance down the wicket to Simon Harmer but misses the ball and Robbie White wastes no time whipping off the bails to stump him.

Surrey 198 ahead as Rikki Clarke joins Will Jacks in the middle.

  17. Ambrose and Brookes resist for Warwicshirepublished at 15:08 British Summer Time 14 April 2019

    Warwks 346 & 250-7 (f/o) v Kent 504-9 dec - lead by 92

Darren Stevens is back on for Kent and Brookes greets him with a drive through cover for one.

Ambrose picks up a couple down to long on to move to 93.

    That's 250 for the Bears.

  18. Podmore returnspublished at 14:57 British Summer Time 14 April 2019

    Warwks 346 & 243-7 (f/o) - lead by 85

And with seven wickets to his name in the match already, why not?

Ambrose is back and across to the first ball, scooping it to leg for one.

A play and miss outside off by Henry Brookes off the third ball.

The fifth ball is short and turned around the corner for three.

Ambrose leaves the sixth one alone.

  19. Net practice for Surreypublished at 14:54 British Summer Time 14 April 2019

    Surrey 395 & 241-4 v Essex 448

Not a lot going on at The Oval I'm afraid to say where Ben Foakes and Will Jacks are taking advantage of some more time in the middle.

It's just a question of how much longer the hosts want to stay out there and make Essex toil in the dirt as their lead is 188 with six wickets in hand and time running out in this game.

  20. Quiet passage of playpublished at 14:51 British Summer Time 14 April 2019

    Warwks 346 & 239-7 (f/o) v Kent 504-9 dec - lead by 81

Another maiden from Riley, bowling wicket to wicket and giving the batsmen absolutely nothing. So quite the opposite of the Cardiff game.

The next over is also a maiden, bowled by Claydon.

Can Kent break the shackles and force a result?
