    Glamorgan 570-8 dec v Northamptonshire 610-4

    Alex Winter
    BBC Radio Northampton sport

I simply cannot believe anyone has turned up to Sophia Gardens today.

It was evident from the second afternoon that there was no contest here and Northamptonshire will just bat out this final day and save their bowlers' legs.

There are a few moans at a run-chase not being set up, but it would be very hard to come up with a target on a wicket that has yielded only 12 wickets in three days.

It would be up to Glamorgan to come up with a figure they would like to defend and maybe they haven't got the appetite to do so - 11 points for the draw is a steady start to 2019 after such a miserable year last season.

More importantly, the RHS Flower Show is in full bloom over the road. The queues on Cathedral Road were extensive.

Half-century for Hampshire's Liam Dawson as his side's resistance continues.

He gets there with three that squeaks behind the wicketkeeper off Joe Root to complete the landmark in 90 balls and with four fours.

Is a final session run chase on the cards?

Tim Ambrose picks up his seventh four with a back foot drive through the covers to reach his 50 off 85 balls. It's likely to be in a losing cause but a fine knock nonetheless.

    Just seven behind now.

  6. Division Two summarypublished at 12:21 British Summer Time 14 April 2019

We have four games still active in the division.

    Here's the latest:

Middlesex have a battle on their hands at Lord's, where they began day four on 68-2, trailing Lancashire by 94.

Sam Robson (57*) and nightwatchman James Harris (20*) have taken the hosts to 107-2, 55 behind.

Worcestershire remain in control at Grace Road, where Leicestershire are 189-7 a mini recovery after slumping to 135-7.

Harry Dearden and Lewis Hill both fell for ducks to Charlie Morris but Ackermann is still there on 66. The hosts remain 62 behind.

Derbyshire began day four of their match in Bristol on 97-2, a lead of 38 over Gloucestershire and are now 76 in front on 135-3.

A draw looks inevitable in Cardiff where Northants are 590-4 in reply to Glamorgan's 570-8 declared.

Rob Keogh was reprieved with a dropped catch on 74 and became the sixth batsman to score a century in the match to date.

    Surrey 395 & 143-2 v Essex 448

Rory Burns and Ollie Pope have calmed Surrey nerves after two early wickets had gone with the lead only 18.

Peter Siddle and Simon Harmer looked a dangerous combination as they combined to put Surrey under pressure with a wicket apiece, but Pope's two superb cover drives in a Harmer over marked a turning point.

The Surrey pair, who could form half of England's Ashes top four, have looked relatively comfortable since and a draw is once again the very likely outcome.

Yorkshire's victory charge being held up at the Ageas Bowl by some sensible shot selection by Liam Dawson and Keith Barker.

They've put on 38 runs for the ninth wicket so far, but there's still plenty more needed for them to evenmake Yorkshire bat again.

    Glamorgan 570-8 dec v Northants 581-4 - lead by 11

At the other end Harry Podmore gets one to keep a bit low and Ambrose jabs down to keep it out.

He tries to get a single with an on side tap off the last ball but it isn't there.

  11. SUSSEX BEAT DURHAM BY 6 WICKETSpublished at 12:08 British Summer Time 14 April 2019
    Breaking

    Sussex (202 & 212-4) beat Durham (224 & 189) by six wickets

    All over at Chester-le-Street.

Sussex have chased down their target of 212 set by Durham and it's Ben Brown off his first ball who tickles the ball into the legside for the one run needed.

Margin of victory is six wickets in the end - that's because Laurie Evans fell for 51 when the scores were level.

Stiann van Zyl reached his well-deserved century before that off 149 balls with 15 fours and he finishes unbeaten on 101 after he and Evans put on 112 for that fourth wicket.

It's one win and one defeat then for Sussex so far, but Durham have now lost both of their first two games.

    Surrey 395 & 129-2 v Essex 448

    Warwks 346 & 121-7 (f/o) v Kent 504-9 dec - trail by 37

A fourth innings wicket for Harry Podmore!

He gets a ball to drift in, beat the Craig Miles block and thud into the pads.

The umpire raises his finger and this innings could be on the slide.

    Henry Brookes to bat next.

  14. 50 runs

50 for Laurie Evanspublished at 12:00 British Summer Time 14 April 2019

    Durham 224 & 189 v Sussex 202 & 200 (target 212)

Almost all over for Sussex but not before Laurie Evans reaches his half-century.

It's his first first-class 50 for Sussex too and he's also shared in a 100 partnership for this wicket with Stiann van Zyl.

  15. Runs still flowing in Cardiffpublished at 11:57 British Summer Time 14 April 2019

    Glamorgan 570-8 dec v Northants 563-4 - trail by 7

The run feast shows no sign of abating in Cardiff - as Northants sail past their highest ever innings total in the Principality.

Northants were also involved in the highest ever first class total against Glamorgan (712 at Northampton in 1998) and the highest aggregate in Cardiff, 1548 runs in 2002.

Stiann van Zyl (88 not out) and Laurie Evans (43 not out) have had their scares and lives, but are still there for the visitors.

  17. wicket

WICKET Milnes lbw b Stevens 1published at 11:47 British Summer Time 14 April 2019

    Warwks 346 & 106-6 (f/o) v Kent 504-9 dec - trail by 52

    Another one for Darren Stevens!

Just a hint of movement into Tom Milnes, who can't get a bat on it and that looks pretty adjacent.

Craig Miles is the new batsman and Kent are in complete control.

  18. Danger for the Bears as Hain falls earlypublished at 11:45 British Summer Time 14 April 2019

    Warwks 346 & 106-5 (f/o) v Kent 504-9 dec - trail by 52

A neat clip through mid-wicket off Darren Stevens brings four to Tim Ambrose.

At the other end Tom Milnes gets away with a push to the off side for one off Harry Podmore.

    Ambrose defends.

  19. 50 runs

50 for Rory Burnspublished at 11:43 British Summer Time 14 April 2019

    Surrey 395 & 102-2 v Essex 448

Another half-century for Rory Burns as Surrey seem to have overcome that brief wobble from earlier in the morning.

Ollie Pope has come in alongside his skipper to settle things down again and take Surrey's lead up to 49.

Burns reaches another 50 off 99 balls with five fours.

  20. Kent in charge at Edgbastonpublished at 11:38 British Summer Time 14 April 2019

    Warwks 346 & 101-5 (f/o) v Kent 504-9 dec - trail by 57

Tim Ambrose turns a straight one from Darren Stevens to square leg to take Warwickshire to 100.

He takes a single off the fourth ball of the next over.

Ooh! A play and miss outside off as Podmore tries to dislodge Milnes.

    The batsman survives. For now.
