Another fumble in the field. This is getting worse and worse.
Connell 5-0-14-0
No bowling changes yet - and another awkward misfield, this time by Charlotte Edwards' great pal Natasha McLean, who impressed her at the World T20 last autumn in the Caribbean, with her dance moves in the field.
Beaumont gets an inside edge - and this is where their 7-2 off-side field fails as with no fine leg in place, it's an easy two for the England pair. Not a bad start from Connell, though.

hypocaust: West Indies women's collective batting SR for this series (currently 44.79) is their lowest for an ODI series or tournament since 2013.
Jones 13, Beaumont 19
Hayley Matthews must feel life is inherently unfair as two balls after being denied a deserved wicket, Amy Jones pumps her over long-off for six!
Meanwhile, another misfield by Shamilia Connell at mid-wicket allows England a run. Ball must be like a bar of soap at the moment, to be fair, as it's still raining. The umbrellas are still up.

I think that would have hit a sizable chunk of leg stump.

That is out!
Matthews to Jones, a big appeal for lbw... umpire Sue Redfern unimpressed. Jones is lucky there's no DRS in this series...
Jones 5, Beaumont 18
Shamilia Connell, with that little jump at the start of her run-up, to continue from the Hayes Close End, while England captain Heather Knight sips a warm drink on the balcony and Danni Wyatt tucks into a banana.
Amy Jones isn't off to a flier as she has been earlier in this series - just dabbing a single to third man. She has five from 12 balls, Beaumont has 18 from 30.
A quick visit from the physio and Beaumont's fine to continue - she may have been hit on the glove in the last over.
Meanwhile, it looks decidedly chilly in the England dug-out - Sarah Taylor, who's in next, is sheltering under a white blanket.

They could have a better fielder than Shamilia Connell, who has just bowled three overs, fielding at mid-wicket. It's such a productive area for Tammy Beaumont.
Tammy is now having some treatment out in the middle.
Jones 4, Beaumont 17
We've had a few technical problems here in the last few minutes, but just as England are moving up through the gears, so are we (hopefully), so apologies if several overs come through at once.
Beaumont clubs Matthews for four through mid-wicket, where Charlotte Edwards on TMS doesn't seem to think they've got the field right.

You wouldn’t want to be fielding at gully today.
Eng 14-0
Finally the shackles are off as when Connell strays with her line, Beaumont lets loose with a flashing square drive for four. Next ball, Beaumont attempts a similar shot – and is dropped by Hayley Matthews at gully. A hard chance - but a chance nonetheless.
Jones 4, Beaumont 5
The players are having to wipe the ball down with towels between deliveries. Beaumont takes a risky single to short fine leg, but Jones was backing up well and beats Afy Fletcher’s throw to the striker’s end. England are exclusively dealing in singles so far.

I think it's a really good move from England to get Bryony Smith in. They see her more as a bowling option I think at the moment and today there's an opportunity for her to get some overs in, weather permitting.
She isn't playing in her preferred option, which is opening probably, but it's a good opportunity for her.
There’s a lot of looking up at the skies, and across at the umpires, but they’re staying on for now. Just two singles added to the score as raindrops fall on the camera lens.

It is really really miserable outside. It looks freezing. I think it's going to be a cold and wet evening.
Jones 2, Beaumont 2
It's not great for the spectators on a day like today - if you know Chelmsford, there ain't a lot of cover in the stands.
Hayley Matthews is going to open up with some off-spin from the River End, bowling in a cap as usual. Beaumont and Jones pick up a couple of singles, no fireworks so far.

The rain is continuing to fall. People are starting to put up their brollies.
Tammy Beaumont takes guard, is hit on the pad first ball and there's an appeal for lbw from wicketkeeper Kycia Knight but no real reaction from the bowler. Beaumont is up and running with a single to deep point, where Afy Fletcher slides round from third man.
I get the feeling there's going to be a lot of sliding around today.
It is definitely raining...
