  1. Coad breaks the shacklespublished at 17:05 British Summer Time 30 June 2019

    Yorkshire 291-8 v Surrey

He may have a first-class batting average of 14, but Ben Coad clearly does have one or two shots in his repertoire.

A cover drive off Sam Curran is followed by one through mid-off, both of them finding the boundary, but a third four in succession is all down to good luck as a thick edge flies just wide of the slips.

He and Steven Patterson have now added 41 in four and a half overs since coming together when Jonny Tattersall was out.

  2. Division Two round-uppublished at 16:58 British Summer Time 30 June 2019

Northamptonshire are 221-9 in the 77th over at Hove, despite Saif Zaib's 54 against Sussex.

Fynn Hudson-Prentice now has 64 not out, with Derbyshire 278-2 after 72 overs against Middlesex.

Lancashire skipper Dane Vilas has made a positive start to his innings at Sedbergh School and they are 184-4 in the 71st over against Durham.

Leaders Glamorgan are 285-2 in the 76th against Worcestershire, and the stand between centurion Marnus Labuschagne and David Lloyd (62*) is now worth 130.

  3. wicket

Nottinghamshire bowled out by Essexpublished at 16:52 British Summer Time 30 June 2019

Notts 213 all out v Essex

Jake Ball is last man out, the third legside catch for Adam Wheater - and a third wicket for Peter Siddle against his former county, to match fellow Essex pacemen Aaron Beard and Jamie Porter.

Aside from skipper Steven Mullaney's 74 and the 43 put on for the ninth wicket by Samit Patel and Stuart Broad, that is pretty poor from Notts.

They appeared poised for a great deal more than that when they stood on 126-2 half an hour after lunch.

Can Broad and Ball now cause any harm to Sir Alastair Cook?

Well there is one statistic that will offer cause for hope. This is not actually his happiest hunting ground, points out BBC Radio Nottingham's Dave Bracegirdle.

In 21 previous first-class innings at Trent Bridge, the vast majority of which were in Test cricket for England, Cook's highest score is only 50.

    Glamorgan 279-2 v Worcestershire

Marnus LabuschagneImage source, Huw Evans Picture Agency

What a summer this is for Marnus Labuschagne.

The Australian reaches his fourth Championship century with a single off Ed Barnard.

It's only taken him 127 balls and included a six and 13 fours.

He couldn't possibly have done any more to try and secure a place in Australia's squad for the Ashes series.

  5. Somerset maintain healthy ratepublished at 16:49 British Summer Time 30 June 2019

    Somerset 315-3 v Hampshire

Two more Somerset boundaries in Fidel Edwards' latest over at Taunton.

Tom Banton was fortunate as a thick edge flew into the gap wide of first slip, and George Bartlett appeared to be a little late on a pull shot, but controlled it well enough to find the square leg boundary.

This is exactly the kind of substantial stand Somerset would have been looking for after the loss of James Hildreth and Tom Abell during the afternoon.

  6. wicket

WICKET Patel lbw b Siddle 39published at 16:46 British Summer Time 30 June 2019

    Notts 211-9 v Essex

Samit Patel is trapped by Peter Siddle for 30.

His spirited ninth-wicket stand with Stuart Broad comes to an end.

Broad is still there on 18. Last man Jake Ball comes in for an all-England last-wicket partnership.

    Yorkshire 250-8 v Surrey

Another one gone for Yorkshire as Jonny Tattersall glances fine and Ben Foakes makes ground to his left to take a two-handed leg-side catch.

It's another wicket for Jordan Clark, who has figures of 4-59 as Ben Coad comes in to bat at number 10.

  8. Second point for Tykespublished at 16:42 British Summer Time 30 June 2019

    Yorkshire 250-7 v Surrey

The final session begins and skipper Steven Patterson secures Yorkshire's second batting point with a cover drive for four off Morne Morkel. He can probably expect one or two 'amidships' in response.

Century for Sean Dicksonpublished at 16:32 British Summer Time 30 June 2019

    Kent 240-2 v Warwickshire

Kent centurion Sean DicksonImage source, Getty Images

Sean Dickson's third first-class century of the season - his second in the Championship.

And his 10th in total, in first-class cricket.

The South African is even awarded the honour of a fly past by the Red Arrows, who, it seems, just happened to be passing on their way to somewhere else just as he was raising his bat to all parts of the ground.

  11. Bartlett flourish to start final sessionpublished at 16:31 British Summer Time 30 June 2019

    Somerset 303-3 v Hampshire

Back-to-back boundaries by George Bartlett off Keith Barker and Somerset have their third batting point at the start of the final session.

Barker over-compensates after being clipped through mid-wicket, allowing Bartlett to square cut for his second boundary.

He now has 27 not out and Tom Banton is on 52 - their stand is so far worth 66.

  12. Tea at Scarboroughpublished at 16:21 British Summer Time 30 June 2019

    Yorkshire 246-7 v Surrey

A belated interval at North Marine Road after Jonny Tattersall collects a leg-side boundary off Jordan Clark to move into double figures.

It was very much Surrey's afternoon as they picked up six wickets for 44 runs after the home side reached 187-1.

Yorkshire's decline should take nothing away from opener Will Fraine's 106, his first Championship century, but they are still four runs short of a second batting point at tea, with only three wickets left.

    Lancashire 145-4 v Durham

    Liam LivingstoneImage source, Rex Features

Durham claim a fourth wicket as Liam Livingstone is lbw to Nathan Rimmington for a watchful 35, which took over two hours.

New man in is home skipper Dane Vilas, who joins Rob Jones (28), and wastes no time hitting his first boundary.

  14. Postpublished at 16:18 British Summer Time 30 June 2019

Time for another white-ball update from Bristol. Australia A are 111-2 after 17 overs, with Will Pucovski 35 not out and Peter Handscomb on 29, after restricting Gloucestershire to a score of 246-8.

  15. Tea at Trent Bridgepublished at 16:15 British Summer Time 30 June 2019

    Notts 194-8 v Essex

Just as this morning, 97 runs in the afternoon session at Trent Bridge.

Only trouble for Nottinghamshire is that six wickets have gone down.

England duo Samit Patel (30) and Stuart Broad (11) will resume after tea looking to earn Notts only their 10th batting bonus point of the season.

  16. Somerset have 'sound platform'published at 16:15 British Summer Time 30 June 2019

    Somerset 289-3 v Hampshire

    Kevan James
    BBC Radio Solent commentator

The home side scored 191 runs for the loss of two wickets in the afternoon session as they built on an unexpectedly positive first two hours.

Hampshire have been handicapped by Mason Crane being out of form on a pitch showing signs of beginning to take spin.

James Hildreth (105) and Tom Abell (82) were the two wickets to fall, but they have given Somerset a sound platform.

Take nothing away from Somerset, they have batted superbly, but it's not been Hampshire's day. To make matters worse Tom Alsop is off the field with a hamstring injury with substitute Aneurin Donald taking the gloves.

    Glamorgan 235-2 v Worcestershire

    Nick Webb
    BBC Wales Sport

Marnus LabuschagneImage source, Huw Evans Picture Agency

Another classy innings from Glamorgan’s Australia Test batsman Marnus Labuschagne has left Worcestershire regretting their decision to bowl first in Cardiff.

He’s batted intelligently with occasional bursts of acceleration to put the visitors’ attack under pressure, with seven bowlers used in frequent changes by Joe Leach.

Ed Barnard took the only wicket of the afternoon, having Nick Selman caught at slip for a patient 67.

But David Lloyd has played a reliable foil in a stand of 80 with Labuschagne, who is on 87 at tea and on 938 Championship runs for the season- a pretty useful signing as a World Cup fill-in for Shaun Marsh.

  19. 50 runs

for Tom Bantonpublished at 16:02 British Summer Time 30 June 2019

    Somerset 289-3 v Hampshire - tea

Having hit a six off Joe Weatherley onto the roof of the Andy Caddick Pavilion, Tom Banton reaches a 52-ball half-century with a four over mid-wicket in his next over, the last before tea.

It has been a highly productive session for Somerset, who have added 191 runs for the loss of James Hildreth and Tom Abell.

They put on 178 for the second wicket before Hildreth departed for 105 and Abell followed eight overs later for 82.

The Division One leaders are in a good position to push on to a 400+ first-innings total.

A single off Nathan Sowter and Fynn Hudson-Prentice has a 64-ball fifty on his Championship debut for Derbyshire.

What can we tell you about FHP, as we will call him to save time? He is 23, was born in Haywards Heath, his middle name is Jake and recently joined Derbyshire from Sussex on a three-year deal.
