  1. Never a frown with golden Brownepublished at 17:42 British Summer Time 1 July 2019

    Notts 213, Essex 332-3

    Michael Perkins
    BBC Sport at Trent Bridge

You could not have more admiration for this innings by Nick Browne.

He did at one point manage to push his strike rate up past 50, some achievement in itself given the amount of dot balls he has had.

For all the international talent on display, it is the Essex-born one-county cricketer who has provided the most telling contribution.

After twice being dropped and having twice had near misses in run-outs, he is now arguably looking as comfortable as he has at any point, on 154.

Ravi Bopara is still lending good support on 58. Their stand is worth 116. Five overs left today.

  2. for Jamie Overtonpublished at 17:34 British Summer Time 1 July 2019

    Somerset 408 v Hampshire 314-8

Jamie Overton takes five wickets an innings for the third time in his career as Kyle Abbott edges to keeper Steve Davies.

He is the third batsman caught behind off the Somerset fast bowler in this spell and Overton really does seemed to have raised his game a notch after being sent on loan to Northants recently to give him some red-ball match practice.

  3. wicket

WICKET Smith c Lyth b Willey 28published at 17:25 British Summer Time 1 July 2019

    Yorkshire 327 v Surrey 303-7

    The impetuosity of youth.

Jamie Smith drives at a ball from David Willey which isn't in the slot for the stroke and Adam Lyth clings onto a stinging chance at second slip.

It's now Clarke and Clark at the crease for Surrey - Rikki and Jordan - and the champions have enough depth to earn themselves some sort of a lead from this position.

  4. Division Two round-uppublished at 17:24 British Summer Time 1 July 2019

Two wickets in four overs for leaders Glamorgan, who have reduced Worcestershire to 148-4 after 52 overs and lead by 301. Riki Wessels and Callum Ferguson were the men to go.

Dawid Malan and Nick Gubbins are trying to rebuild the Middlesex first innings at Derby after the loss of both openers. They are 106-2 in reply to Derbyshire's 557-6 declared.

Northamptonshire's lead over Sussex is now 346 at Hove. They are 179-3 in their second innings, with Ricardo Vasconcelos recently dismissed by Abi Sakande for 88.

Durham are now 141-4 against Lancashire at Sedbergh School, 189 in arrears.

  5. 50 runs

Ravi Bopara's half centurypublished at 17:24 British Summer Time 1 July 2019

    Notts 213, Essex 324-3

Ravi Bopara elegantly glides his sixth four to the boundary, his third half-century of the season.

He is on 51, opener Nick Browne is still there on 154 after seven hours at the crease.

Their stand is now worth 109.

Eight more overs to go tonight.

Up with the over rate, for sure. And that is largely down to Ravi Ashwin, who has so far sent down 37 overs today- and gets through them at a good lick.

  6. Smith turns on the stylepublished at 17:15 British Summer Time 1 July 2019

    Yorkshire 327 v Surrey 302-6

It certainly looks like Surrey have produced another good 'un in 18-year-old Jamie Smith.

He has a sumptuous cover drive and unfurls another one for a boundary off Steven Patterson before flicking the next for four to square leg.

He is 27 not out and Surrey have a third batting point.

  7. wicket

    WICKET Fuller c Davies b J Overton 37published at 17:10 British Summer Time 1 July 2019

    Somerset 408 v Hampshire 311-7

    Jamie OvertonImage source, Getty

James Fuller doesn't fancy that one as Jamie Overton digs it in towards his body and in trying to swat it away one-handed he gloves a leg-side catch to Steven Davies.

Hostile bowling by Overton on a fairly benign surface and he now has 4-66. Mason Crane comes out to join Kyle Abbott and it doesn't look like injured Tom Alsop is going to bat.

  8. 100 runs

Century partnership for Bearspublished at 17:10 British Summer Time 1 July 2019

    Kent 585-7 dec, Warwickshire 117-0

100 up at Canterbury - just ahead of fifties for Dom Sibley and Will Rhodes.

Rhodes, 51, is first to make it but Sibley is not far behind, and has moved on to 53 with his ninth boundary.

An excellent response from the beleaguered Bears.

  9. wicket

WICKET Clark lbw b Anderson 0published at 17:04 British Summer Time 1 July 2019

    Lancashire 337, Durham 136-4

A second wicket for Jimmy Anderson, who traps Graham Clark.

Anderson and Graham Onions are bowling superbly in tandem, having suddenly found their best form - and the pressure has told, with three Durham wickets for no runs in 17 balls.

Successive wicket maidens for Anderson, who almost claimed a third wicket but for a missed chance by Liam Livingstone.

After the Red Arrows pitching up to mark Sean Dickson's century at Canterbury, the RAF have this time seemingly responded further north at Sedbergh by sending over a couple of extremely loud Typhoons.

  10. wicket

    WICKET Barker c Davies b J Overton 38published at 17:02 British Summer Time 1 July 2019

    Somerset 408 v Hampshire 306-6

Jamie Overton bends his back to try and extract some life from the pitch and it pays off as Keith Barker edges a rising ball through to keeper Steven Davies.

It is the third wicket of the innings for Overton, who is bearing an extra burden in the absence of brother Craig from this game because of injury.

  11. 150 runs

150 for Nick Brownepublished at 17:01 British Summer Time 1 July 2019

    Notts 213, Essex 305-3

    Nick BrowneImage source, Rex Features

150 for Nick Browne, a 92-run lead for Essex - a third batting point and a stand of 90 so far with Ravi Bopara, who is on 36.

Five more to go to the 110-over bonus-point cut-off.

    Somerset 408 v Hampshire 301-5

    James FullerImage source, Getty Images

Hampshire collect their third batting point as Jamie Overton bowls a full toss and James Fuller helps it on its way down to fine leg for four.

Fuller progresses to 36, with partner Keith Barker on 38.

  13. wicket

WICKET Bancroft b Anderson 77published at 16:55 British Summer Time 1 July 2019

    Lancashire 337, Durham 136-3

And there's another one. Two wickets in two balls for Lancashire.

Precisely a month before the start of the first Ashes Test, it's a strike for England against Australia as Jimmy Anderson nips one back to clean bowl Cameron Bancroft.

  14. wicket

WICKET Foakes c Leaning b Coad 40published at 16:55 British Summer Time 1 July 2019

    Yorkshire 327 v Surrey 286-6

Ben Coad claims his second victim with the new ball and it's a second England player too as Ben Foakes follows Sam Curran back to the dressing room.

The Surrey skipper plays the first ball of a new over towards gully but doesn't get fully on top of it and Jack Leaning swoops to his left to take an excellent two-handed catch.

Rikki Clarke comes the the crease with Jamie Smith - who is half his age - on 17 not out.

  15. wicket

WICKET Harte b Onions 14published at 16:52 British Summer Time 1 July 2019

    Lancashire 337, Durham 136-2

A second wicket straight after tea for Lancashire as Graham Onions strikes against his former club to remove Gareth Harte.

  16. Bears bowlers injury updatepublished at 16:51 British Summer Time 1 July 2019

    Kent 371-2 v Warwickshire 92-0

Warwickshire's opening batsmen Dom Sibley and Will Rhodes are still unparted on 92-0 after 25 overs at Canterbury.

Meanwhile, we have an update on their fast bowling department.

Oliver Hannon-Dalby, who missed this match with a hamstring injury, is expected to be back "in 7 to 10 days". And Olly Stone, injured on England's winter tour, and Henry Brookes are now both estimated to be "very close".

James Wainman took three wickets on his first-class debut at Canterbury, including both Kent centurions Sean Dickson and Daniel Bell-Drummond (above)

But Craig Miles will be out for four weeks with his side injury. And both Liam Norwell and Ryan Sidebottom are out for the season.

With Chris Woakes away on England duty and former England Under-19s paceman George Panayi also out, it has forced them to use two loan men, Toby Lester and Ben Mike, and untried left-armer James Wainman in this game.

That makeshift attack may well again be used against Hampshire next week, as the estimated return time for Hannon-Dalby, Stone and Brookes is the fifth of the Bears' five successive matches against Essex at Chelmsford on 13 July.

  18. new ball

New ball at Tauntonpublished at 16:43 British Summer Time 1 July 2019

    Somerset 408 v Hampshire 292-5

Lewis Gregory has the shiny new cherry, but Somerset are soon fetching back from the boundary edge as James Fuller plays an extraordinary stroke, somehow pulling a short ball over mid-on from well wide of off stump.

Not one you see very often. He is 26 not out, Keith Barker has 36 and this very frustrating partnership - from a Somerset point of view - is worth 67.

  19. Division Two round-uppublished at 16:38 British Summer Time 1 July 2019

Northamptonshire have lost the first wicket of their second innings with Rob Newton falling to Ollie Robinson for 54 at Hove. Ricardo Vasconcelos is still there on 55 and they are 121-1 leading Sussex by 288.

Derbyshire have got rid of Middlesex opener Sam Robson for 34, with Tony Palladino the successful bowler. The visitors are 69-2 after 22 overs, 488 in arrears.

Worcestershire have advanced to 99-1 in Cardiff, with Daryl Mitchell 39 not out, after earlier bowling out Glamorgan for 449.

They have only just resumed after tea at Sedbergh School following a delayed start this morning and Durham are 117-1 in the 36th over, replying to Lancashire's 337 all out.

  20. Essex chasing batting points?published at 16:36 British Summer Time 1 July 2019

    Notts 213 v Essex 275-3

    Ravi BoparaImage source, Rex Features

Essex have noticeably speeded up since tea as time ticks away towards the 110-over mark.

They have already added 34. And, with 12 overs to go, a third batting point looks all but assured. But, if they maintain this sort of pace, all of a sudden, maybe 350 is a not unrealistic aim.

Nick Browne on 127. Ravi Bopara, who has hit four boundaries since tea, is on 29.

Bottom club Notts have one bowling point. Three more wickets needed for a second.
