  1. 100 runs

Century for Nick Brownepublished at 15:24 British Summer Time 1 July 2019

    Notts 213, Essex 222-3

Essex's Nick Browne carves his 17th four of the innings to the cover boundary - and he has his first Championship century since June 2017.

His celebration probably says it all . . .

  2. wicket

WICKET Northeast c Abell b Bess 101published at 15:20 British Summer Time 1 July 2019

    Somerset 408 v Hampshire 220-4

Just like Surrey's Mark Stoneman at Scarborough, Sam Northeast is unable to convert a well-played century into a really big one.

He becomes Dom Bess' first victim of the game as he tamely chips a catch to Tom Abell at mid-wicket.

James Fuller comes out in an elevated number six position with Tom Alsop not able to bat because of a hamstring problem which forced him off the field on day one.

  3. wicket

WICKET Lawrence b Fletcher 64published at 15:19 British Summer Time 1 July 2019

    Notts 213, Essex 215-3

The new ball does the trick for Notts.

Dan Lawrence appeared to play down the wrong line, he is gone for 64 and Luke Fletcher has his first wicket.

It's a breakthrough but Essex are already ahead - and still have seven wickets in hand. And a big lead looks on the cards.

  4. New ball for Nottinghamshirepublished at 15:15 British Summer Time 1 July 2019

    Notts 213, Essex 215-2

    Dave Bracegirdle
    BBC Radio Nottingham commentator

Notts have taken the second new ball at Trent Bridge and they need to make it count.

Only one wicket has gone down all day, Nick Browne and Dan Lawrence have put on more than a hundred since then. And Essex now lead.

It has been a very patient knock from Browne, who is now within four runs of his 15th first-class century on 96.

  5. wicket

WICKET Lees c Anderson b Mahmood 16published at 15:10 British Summer Time 1 July 2019

    Lancashire 337, Durham 70-1

No joy for Jimmy Anderson with the new ball, but you can't keep him out of the game.

Saqib Mahmood makes the breakthrough at Sedbergh School as he tempts Alex Lees into skying one to mid off - and Anderson takes the catch, the 143rd of his first-class career.

Durham skipper Cameron Bancroft is looking good at the other end, on 38.

  6. 100 runs

for Sam Northeastpublished at 15:07 British Summer Time 1 July 2019

    Somerset 408 v Hampshire 206-3

    Sam NortheastImage source, Getty Images

Sam Northeast uses his feet superbly and eases off-spinner Dom Bess away through mid-wicket for four to reach his third Championship century of the summer, off 167 balls faced.

He has hit 13 fours and a six in total in another fine exhibition - but there are still another 57 needed by Hampshire to eliminate the possibility of having to follow-on.

Northeast has added 68 so far with Rilee Rossouw, whose stand-and-deliver boundary off Jamie Overton in the previous over - with no foot movement at all - was typical of his approach to batting.

  7. Division Two round-uppublished at 15:01 British Summer Time 1 July 2019

The match moves along at a hectic pace in Hove with Northamptonshire 33-0 in their second innings, a lead of exactly 200 after bowling out Sussex for just 106.

Middlesex are in the fifth over of their reply to Derbyshire's massive 557-7 dec and are 10-0, with Sam Robson and Stevie Eskinazi still together.

Worcestershire continue to take it slow and steady in Cardiff. They are 47-0 in the 25th over after dismissing Glamorgan for 449 during the morning session.

  8. Batting point for Surreypublished at 14:58 British Summer Time 1 July 2019

    Yorkshire 327 v Surrey 201-4

England's Ben Foakes and Sam Curran are now together for Surrey following the departure of Ryan Patel and Mark Stoneman in quick succession.

Foakes picks up two runs off Duanne Olivier by whipping the ball down to square leg to secure their first batting point.

  9. 100 runs

100 partnership for Browne and Lawrencepublished at 14:57 British Summer Time 1 July 2019

    Notts 213, Essex 202-2

Dan Lawrence has come in and got on with it at Trent Bridge. He has now moved on to 63, with 10 boundaries.

Nick Browne has so far spent just short of five hours for his obdurate 88, which has included 14 fours.

  10. 50 runs

50 up for Durham at Sedberghpublished at 14:53 British Summer Time 1 July 2019

    Lancashire 337, Durham 50-0

Only the second time this season that Durham's opening pair have gone past 50 unparted.

A good effort by Cameron Bancroft and Alex Lees against an attack with England's all-time top Test wicket taker in it, Jimmy Anderson.

Bancroft is on 21, Alex Lees on 15, And Extras just behind on 14.

Admittedly, Anderson was very tidy in his first spell either side of lunch. His first six overs went for just nine runs, while Durham old boy Graham Onions was plundered for 29.

  11. wicket

WICKET Kent declare at Canterburypublished at 14:42 British Summer Time 1 July 2019

    Kent 585-7 dec v Warwickshire

Darren Stevens is seventh out, sweeping in the air to give Sam Hain a steepling catch - and Bears skipper Jeetan Patel his first wicket - and 45th of the season, to match Essex's Simon Harmer again.

And that prompts Kent captain Heino Kuyn to declare.

He obviously has not been studying the Kent record books.

They were within 31 runs of their highest-ever score at Canterbury (616-7 dec against Somerset in 1996), just 18 behind their highest-ever score against Warwickshire (603-8 dec at Edgbaston in 1992) - and just nine behind their best-ever home total against the Bears (594 at Canterbury in 1993).

Or maybe, against a Bears attack of loan men and stand-ins so cruelly depleted by injury, perhaps, unwittingly, Kuhn did not want this one to count on the record books.

  12. Derbyshire declare after Dal downfallpublished at 14:40 British Summer Time 1 July 2019

    Derbyshire 557-6 dec v Middlesex

Derbyshire take pity on the Middlesex bowlers after Anuj Dal becomes the third batsman dismissed in the 90s in their first innings.

He is caught at third man by Steven Finn off Toby Roland-Jones for 92, following Fynn Hudson-Prentice (99) and Luis Reece (96) who also fell just short of three figures.

Remember, though, that Billy Godleman and Leus du Plooy did make centuries in what is Derbyshire's biggest ever total against Middlesex.

  13. Essex close to lead at Trent Bridgepublished at 14:35 British Summer Time 1 July 2019

    Notts 213, Essex 189-2

    Dave Bracegirdle
    BBC Radio Nottingham commentator

Essex are moving closer to parity on the second afternoon against Notts at Trent Bridge but they have just had two moments of fortune.

Opener Nick Browne has moved into the 80s for the first time this season but he will be counting his blessings after two scares.

On 77, the left-hander greeted Ravi Ashwin with a leading edge, which almost carried to short extra cover.

Four runs later, Browne then clipped Jake Ball to Joe Clarke at square leg but the straightforward chance was put down.

Dan Lawrence, meanwhile, has moved fluently to a splendid half century, from 101 balls, with seven fours. He is on 50. Brown is on 85. Essex are just 24 behind.

  14. wicket

WICKET Stoneman c Tattersall b Olivier 100published at 14:32 British Summer Time 1 July 2019

    Yorkshire 327 v Surrey 186-4

Just two balls after reaching his hundred, Mark Stoneman gloves a lifter from under his armpit and wicketkeeper Jonny Tattersall does the necessary.

Stoneman looks at the pitch as the keeper claims the catch and it's only after a few seconds that he looks up to see the umpire's finger.

It's a big first wicket for Duanne Olivier, who has been quite expensive in this innings so far.

  15. wicket

WICKET Robinson c Rhodes b Lester 78published at 14:30 British Summer Time 1 July 2019

    Kent 569-6 v Warwickshire

Ollie Robinson is out. The Kent keeper's 94-ball Canterbury cameo is over as he holes out in the deep for 78 to earn one of Warwickshire's loan men Toby Lester his first wicket.

  16. 100 runs

for Mark Stonemanpublished at 14:29 British Summer Time 1 July 2019

    Yorkshire 327 v Surrey 186-3

    Mark StonemanImage source, Rex Features

It's one of the few false shots he has played but Mark Stoneman won't care about that as he reaches his first Championship century of the summer.

The ball, from fast bowler Duanne Olivier, flies off the outside edge past a diving first slip and runs away to third man as he reaches three figures from 165 deliveries faced.

It is Stoneman's 23rd first-class century - England Test recall now on the cards?

  17. wicket

WICKET Patel c Tattersall b Maharaj 26published at 14:26 British Summer Time 1 July 2019

    Yorkshire 327 v Surrey 182-3

Great glove-work by Jonny Tattersall, who takes a sharp chance to his left as Ryan Patel tries to drive the left-arm spin of Keshav Maharaj.

That is a first Yorkshire wicket for the South Africa spinner and ends a stand of 72 with Mark Stoneman, who only needs four more runs for a century.

Acting skipper Ben Foakes is the new Surrey batsman.

  18. Somerset bring on Besspublished at 14:26 British Summer Time 1 July 2019

    Somerset 408 v Hampshire 163-3

We now have spin from both ends at Taunton with Dom Bess joining Jack Leach in the attack.

This is Bess' first bowl in the Championship this summer for Somerset, but he did take seven wickets in four games during a recent loan spell with Yorkshire.

Somerset don't want him to settle and Sam Northeast gives himself room before cutting for four in his latest over to move to 75 not out.

  19. Division Two round-uppublished at 14:18 British Summer Time 1 July 2019

Another superb bowling display by Ben Sanderson, who has claimed 6-37 to help bowl out for Sussex for just 106, giving Northamptonshire a first-innings lead of 16.

Middlesex's agony continues at Derby, where the home side advanced to 535-5, with Anuj Dal 79 not out. Will he become the third centurion of the innings?

Leaders Glamorgan have yet to make a breakthrough with the ball, with Worcestershire 16-0 after 14 overs in reply to the home side's 449 all out.

The afternoon session is only a few minutes old at Sedbergh School, with Durham 14-0 after dismissing Lancashire for 337.

  20. 50 runs

Half century for Ollie Robinsonpublished at 14:14 British Summer Time 1 July 2019

    Kent 534-5 v Warwickshire

Still no let-up by Kent in their pursuit of runs as the home batsmen fill their boots at the expense of Warwickshire's 'thread-Bear' attack.

Ollie Robinson becomes the fourth Kent batsman to go past 50 in this innings - and easily the quickest (44 balls). Two of them, Sean Dickson (163) and Daniel Bell-Drummond (166) have gone on to three figures.

Not sure whether Robinson, now on to 60, will get the chance before Kent declare, which may not be that much longer.

There's not only one Ollie Robinson. There are two of them. And this is the Kent version.Image source, Rex Features
    Image caption,

There's not only one Ollie Robinson. There are two of them. And this is the Kent version.

Even more excitingly, for a brief 15-minute spell there, until Sussex were all out at Hove, we had both English county cricket's two Ollie Robinsons batting simultaneously.
