  1. Fuller gets away with miscuepublished at 16:32 British Summer Time 1 July 2019

    Somerset 405 v Hampshire 285-5

James Fuller takes on spinner Jack Leach and is fortunate as a miscued drive skews away over cover for four runs.

Two balls later and there's that Keith Barker reverse sweep again - and it's another boundary.

Only two overs to the new ball now for Somerset.

  2. Bancroft spearheading Durham reply at Sedberghpublished at 16:29 British Summer Time 1 July 2019

    Lancashire 337, Durham 115-1

    Martin Emmerson
    BBC Newcastle

Durham got among the wickets early on day two, Nathan Rimmington taking 4-74 in his first Championship match of the season.

And Durham have made a decent start with the bat too. The 70 put on for the first wicket by Cameron Bancroft and Alex Lees was the highest opening stand any side have managed against Lancashire this year.

Bancroft (66) will resume after tea, having hit his second half century in two games, after adding 45 so far with Gareth Harte (8).

  3. wicket

WICKET Curran c Leaning b Coad 43published at 16:26 British Summer Time 1 July 2019

    Yorkshire 327 v Surrey 267-5

Sam Curran goes for a big drive without moving his front foot towards the pitch of the ball and slices a catch to Jack Leaning at backward point.

Ben Coad's second success ends an 81-run stand with Ben Foakes, who is 38 not out as he is joined by Jamie Smith.

  4. Barker in reversepublished at 16:21 British Summer Time 1 July 2019

    Somerset 408 v Hampshire 261-5

Keith Barker played a reverse sweep before tea and there's another one, bringing him four runs off Jack Leach. He obviously fancies that stroke, and moves to 25 not out, but it's certainly a risky one against a spinner of Leach's cunning and skill. Six overs to go before Somerset can take the new ball - and no danger of a follow-on now for Hampshire.

  5. new ball

Yorkshire take new ballpublished at 16:18 British Summer Time 1 July 2019

    Yorkshire 327 v Surrey 257-4

After a couple of overs of spin immediately after tea, Yorkshire have wasted no time in making use of the new ball. Duanne Olivier returns to the attack, with Sam Curran 40 not and Ben Foakes on 31 for Surrey.

  6. Tea is taken at Sedbergh Schoolpublished at 16:12 British Summer Time 1 July 2019

    Lancashire 337, Durham 115-1

Still a lot of cricket left to play here today as Durham come off at the tea interval on 115-1, with captain Cameron Bancroft on 66 - and Gareth Harte on 8.

The intention is to play until 6.30, following the loss of the first half hour this morning. But there are still 38 overs left to bowl in the day when they resume at 4:30.

  7. Browne still battling away at Trent Bridgepublished at 16:11 British Summer Time 1 July 2019

    Notts 213, Essex 241-3

    Michael Perkins
    BBC Sport at Trent Bridge

Back underway after the tea interval here and Essex are 28 runs ahead.

Nick Browne may have looked the less comfortable at times in his partnership of 120 with Dan Lawrence but he has enjoyed tea with a hundred to his name.

The Essex opener brought it up with a cut off Luke Fletcher, a shot that he'd been looking for since the morning session.

But twice he could have got out this afternoon.

First, on 77, he got a leading edge of Ravi Ashwin that looped, but didn't quite reach substitute fielder Liam Patterson-White at midwicket.

Then, 11 balls later, with five more to his name he gave an easy chance, dropped by Joe Clarke at forward square leg.

  8. Tea at Hovepublished at 16:09 British Summer Time 1 July 2019

    Northamptonshire 273 & 108-0 v Sussex 106

BBC Radio Northampton commentator Alex Winter is smiling - and why wouldn't he be.

Not only does he have a plate full of cake and scones, but Northants are in total control of the game at Hove thanks to an unbroken century stand between Rob Newton and Ricardo Vasconcelos.

Newton is 54 not out and his left-handed partner has 50, and they have given their side a 275-run lead after Sussex were dismissed for 106 during the afternoon session.

    Glamorgan 449 v Worcestershire 90-1

It was an attritional second session in Cardiff as Worcestershire got off to an ultra-cautious start against some accurate seam bowling.

Daryl Mitchell was dropped at slip off Michael Hogan and Josh Dell survived a confident lbw shout off Graham Wagg, but the openers still put together a stand of 83 in 35 overs.

The medium pace of captain David Lloyd made the breakthrough as Dell edged behind on 36, having done the hard graft.

Glamorgan’s 449 earned them maximum batting points, but was a lot fewer than seemed likely before Brett D’Oliviera got to work, the leg-spinner taking a career-best 7-92.

  10. 50 runs

50 for Cameron Bancroftpublished at 16:02 British Summer Time 1 July 2019

    Lancashire 337, Durham 104-1

A half century for the Durham captain Cameron Bancroft - and the 100 up for the visitors.

It's going better today for improving Durham than it is for Lancashire at scenic Sedbergh School

  11. Tea at Scarboroughpublished at 15:57 British Summer Time 1 July 2019

    Yorkshire 327 v Surrey 253-4

Sam Curran plays out a maiden from Keshav Maharaj to end the afternoon session at North Marine Road.

Surrey have added 105 for the loss of Ryan Patel and Mark Stoneman, the latter departing two balls after reaching his first century of the summer.

Curran and Ben Foakes have added 67 in 21 overs so far - with Curran the more aggressive, hitting a six and five fours in his 39 not out.

  13. Tea at Tauntonpublished at 15:51 British Summer Time 1 July 2019

    Somerset 408 v Hampshire 249-5

The dismissal of centurion Sam Northeast and Rilee Rossouw in the final overs before tea will have made things look a whole lot brighter in the Somerset dressing room.

With uncertainty over whether Tom Alsop will be able to bat, the Division One leaders may only need four more wickets to end Hampshire's first innings, with the prospect of a decent first-innings lead.

Keith Barker took four off Jack Leach with a reverse sweep shortly before the interval, but Somerset won't mind him taking chances like that.

  14. Tea at Trent Bridgepublished at 15:46 British Summer Time 1 July 2019

    Notts 213, Essex 241-3

Still heavy going for Essex as they bid to build a lead against Notts.

But at leas they're speeding up.

Of the 169 runs in the day ground tour today in 65 overs - Essex scored 83 in the morning session, but 86 this afternoon.

Nick Browne has so far batted five hours and 33 minutes for his 115 not out. Even Ravi Bopara is becalmed, having so far taken 17 balls over his 7 - and no boundaries.

  15. Division Two round-uppublished at 15:44 British Summer Time 1 July 2019

Leaders Glamorgan have their first wicket with David Lloyd removing Josh Dell, to leave Worcestsrshire 83-1 in reply to the home side's 449 all out.

Middlesex have lost Stevie Eskinazi for 23, but are 55-1 after 14 overs after Derbyshire declared their first innings on 557-6.

Winless Northants are sailing along at Hove, 89-0 in their second innings, a lead of 256 over Sussex.

Cameron Bancroft is 50 not out for Durham at Sedbergh School. They are 98-1 in reply to Lanceshire's 337 all out.

  16. Tea at Canterburypublished at 15:42 British Summer Time 1 July 2019

    Kent 585-7 dec, Warwickshire 33-0

It's a long way to go for Warwickshire.

Still another 403 runs to go to avoid the threat of being asked to follow on.

But opening pair Dom Sibley and Will Rhodes have at least got through the first 12 overs before tea.

  17. 6 runs

Curran hits a maximumpublished at 15:39 British Summer Time 1 July 2019

    Yorkshire 327 v Surrey 243-4

The Surrey dressing room enjoyed this one. Bowler Keshav Maharaj probably didn't.

  19. Sound start for Bearspublished at 15:31 British Summer Time 1 July 2019

    Kent 585-7 dec, Warwickshire 32-0

10 overs gone for Warwickshire - and the Bears openers are progressing nicely.

Apart from one minor scare for Dom Sibley, who edged one which dropped just short of the slip cordon, he and Will Rhodes have so far put on 32, replying to Kent's whopping 585-7 declared.

Sibley is on 14. Rhodes, as usual, is going at twice the pace on 21.

Kent now turn to spin, bringing on Ollie Rayner.

  20. wicket

WICKET Rossouw lbw Bess 44published at 15:27 British Summer Time 1 July 2019

    Somerset 408 v Hampshire 225-5

Two big wickets in successive overs for Dom Bess, who forces Rilee Rossouw onto the back foot and wins an lbw decision against the South African.

It's a modicum of revenge after being struck straight for six by the left-hander and Hampshire trail by 183 as Keith Barker comes to the crease.
