  1. wicket

WICKET Willey c Borthwick b Curran 43published at 17:48 British Summer Time 2 July 2019

    Yorkshire 327 & 276-7 v Surrey 262

This is slowly bubbling towards what should be a riveting final day at North Marine Road.

David Willey shapes to play towards mid-wicket but the ball does neough to take the edge and Scott Borthwick pouches it at second slip.

Sam Curran now has 3-61 - and Yorkshire's lead is 241 as Steven Patterson comes out with six overs to go until stumps.

  2. Division Two round-uppublished at 17:42 British Summer Time 2 July 2019

Marnus marches on in Cardiff where Glamorgan are 105-1 in their second innings against Worcestershire, a lead of 184.

Having passed 1,000 Championship runs for the season, Marnus Labuschagne is now 71 not out.

Any result other than a draw looks out of the question at Derby, where Middlesex are 383-6 in their first innings with Dawid Malan 159 not out and John Simpson on 57. They collected three batting points and two with the ball for Derbyshire.

At Sedbergh School, Lancashire are now 152-6, with Dane Vilas 51 not out, against Durham, a lead of 208.

  3. wicket

WICKET Gregory c Northeast b Edwards 28published at 17:41 British Summer Time 2 July 2019

    Somerset 408 & 329-6 v Hampshire 349

Hampshire are fully on the defensive now, with not a single slip in place.

Lewis Gregory tries to slog Fidel Edwards over mid-on, but Sam Northeast pulls the latest in a series of excellent catches around the various grounds today.

Dom Bess is the new batsman and Somerset lead by 388 with 10 overs left in the day - minus a couple if they decide to declare.

  4. Unusual four by Willeypublished at 17:34 British Summer Time 2 July 2019

    Yorkshire 327 & 255-6 v Surrey 362

    David WilleyImage source, Rex Features

You don't see that shot very often.

Morne Morkel is just slightly short of a good length and David Willey stands up tall on the back foot and lofts it over mid-off for four with a straight bat.

The left-hander moves on to 26 and Yorkshire are 221 ahead with four wickets left.

  5. wicket

WICKET Croft b Rimmington 35published at 17:31 British Summer Time 2 July 2019

    Lancashire 337 & 146-6, Durham 281

Durham make another breakthrough with an hour to go tonight, as Steven Croft is out, clean bowled by Nathan Rimmington with one that kept low.

It's the Australian's second wicket in this innings and sixth of the match.

But not before Croft has helped skipper Dane Vilas add 87 for the sixth wicket.

That might yet prove a matchwinning stand, but maybe only if Durham build on it with a few more wickets tonight.

  6. 150 runs

for Dawid Malanpublished at 17:29 British Summer Time 2 July 2019

    Derbyshire 557-6 dec v Middlesex 367-6

Great batting by Dawid Malan who pulls a ball from Logan van Beek away with authority for his 17th four and reaches 151 off 302 balls. John SImpson has 51 at the other end and these two have added 118 so far.

  7. wicket

WICKET Tattersall c Clarke b Curran 38published at 17:26 British Summer Time 2 July 2019

    Yorkshire 327 & 251-6 v Surrey 362

    Sam CurranImage source, Rex Features

Surrey do now have the new ball and in the third over with it, Jonny Tattersall dangles his bat and Rikki Clarke takes a sharp chance at first slip.

Tattersall is Sam Curran's second victim - and Yorkshire's lead is 216 as Keshav Maharaj comes out to bat.

  8. 6 runs

Somerset push lead beyond 350published at 17:26 British Summer Time 2 July 2019

    Somerset 408 & 302-5 v Hampshire 349

Lewis Gregory comes down the wicket and smashes Kyle Abbott back over his head for a straight six.

Somerset are now 361 ahead and there are 14 overs left in the day's play.

Will the declaration come this evening?

Gregory is 20 not out and Steven Davies has 16.

  9. Duckett has a dippublished at 17:22 British Summer Time 2 July 2019

    Notts 213 & 69-4, Essex 519-9 dec

If Nottinghamshire are going to lose this game, they are at least going to go down fighting.

Ben Duckett has come in looking to play his shots - and had already clubbed three boundaries.

The so far wicketless Simon Harmer will be licking his slips.

The country's joint leading Championship wicket taker might have so far gone unrewarded in this innings, but his figures still look pretty good. 13-6-15-0.

  10. 50 runs

for Marnus Labuschagnepublished at 17:15 British Summer Time 2 July 2019

    Glamorgan 449 & 70-1 v Worcestershire

While the debate 'rages' about the respective claims of Dom Sibley and Marnus Labuschagne to being recognised as the first to 1,000, the latter collects another boundary at Cardiff and passes 50 for the ninth time this season. Glamorgan's lead is 149.

In case you missed it earlier on, Northamptonshire beat Sussex by 393 runs at Hove, their first Championship win of the summer. And here's the man who did so much damage for the visitors.

  12. Dom Sibley first to 1,000 first-class runspublished at 17:10 British Summer Time 2 July 2019

    Kent 585-7 dec, Warwickshire 356-3

Glamorgan's Australian all-rounder Marnus Labuschagne might have gone past 1,000 County Championship runs this season.

But he was actually beaten to the traditional chief cricketing benchmark of being first to 1,000 first-class runs in a season by Warwickshire's Dom Sibley, by just a matter of minutes.

Sibley had 825 runs going into his game, 678 in the Championship, as well as his scores of 19 and 128 for the MCC in the champion county game against Surrey back in March.

When he reached 175, against Kent on the featherbed at Canterbury, that all added up to 1,000.

And Warwickshire were not slow to acclaim his feat . . .

WICKET Kohler-Cadmore st Foakes b Batty 42published at 17:06 British Summer Time 2 July 2019

    Yorkshire 327 & 230-5 v Surrey 362

Looks like not taking the new ball was the right call by Surrey.

Gareth Batty drifts one past the outside edge of Tom Kohler-Cadmore's bat and Ben Foakes has the bails off in a flash, with the square leg umpire confirming the stumping.

It's almost two wickets as David Willey edges just wide of second slip for four in the next over by Ryan Patel.

  14. LABUSCHAGNE WINS RACE TO 1,000published at 17:03 British Summer Time 2 July 2019
    Breaking

    Glamorgan 449 & 60-1 v Worcestershire 370

Marbnus LabuschagneImage source, Huw Evans Picture Agency

Australian Marnus Labuschagne pulls a ball from Charlie Morris for four and becomes the first player to reach 1,000 Championship runs this season.

He has 45 not out off 42 balls and the Division Two leaders are 139 ahead.

We are reliably informed (by the man himself) that the last Glamorgan batsman to win the race to 1,000 in the Championship was Steve James in 1997. If that's wrong - talk to Steve.

  15. Surrey bide time for ball changepublished at 17:02 British Summer Time 2 July 2019

    Yorkshire 327 & 224-4 v Surrey 362

The new ball is available time at Scarborough after two Jonny Tattersall boundaries off Ryan Patel.

Both were cuts - but the first came off the edge and he was fortunate not to see it go to hand.

Surrey delay the switch, though, as spinner Gareth Batty continues.

  16. wicket

WICKET Clarke c Wheater b Beard 21published at 16:55 British Summer Time 2 July 2019

    Notts 213 &49-4, Essex 519-9 dec

Nottinghamshire batsman Joe Clarke's miserable run of scores goes on as he clips down the leg side and is caught behind.

The winter signing from Worcestershire looks increasingly likely to be back in Division Two next season.

Not the first time Essex paceman Aaron Beard had a got a wicket in this manner and he was clearly playing for it.

20 overs left after this one to bat tonight. Will Notts actually see them out?

Ben Duckett, who opened in the first innings, is the new man in, having dropped down to six this time round.

WICKET Slater run out (Beard) 10published at 16:51 British Summer Time 2 July 2019

    Notts 213 & 40-3, Essex 519-9 dec

Probably not quite what was required in the circumstances from Notts in their quest to salvage this match.

A run-out mix-up between Ben Slater and Joe Clarke!!!

Slater is gone. Samit Patel comes in. Still 266 runs behind!

  18. wicket

WICKET Banton c sub b Crane 70published at 16:50 British Summer Time 2 July 2019

    Somerset 408 & 270-5 v Hampshire 349

Another one for Mason Crane as Tom Banton tries to sweep a ball out of the rough, but gloves a catch to replacement keeper Lewis McManus, who is behind the stumps after Tom Alsop's injury earlier in the game.

Lewis Gregory is the new batsman and Somerset's lead is 329.

  19. Game on at Sedberghpublished at 16:47 British Summer Time 2 July 2019

    Lancashire 337 & 108-5, Durham 281

    Kal Sajad
    BBC Sport at Sedbergh School

Durham lost their last five wickets for just 18 runs before lunch - and it got no better for the Lancashire top order.

Chris Rushworth struck twice in the opening over, dismissing Keaton Jennings first ball and then Haseeb Hameed who was caught behind for a third-ball duck.

With that wicket, Rushworth equalled Durham’s first class wicket taking record of 458 set by Steve Harmison.

Alex Davies (15) fell to Nathan Rimmington before Liam Livingstone (35) edged Ben Raine to second slip.

A pin point throw from the left arm of Liam Trevaskis then ran out Rob Jones. But captain Dane Vilas and Steven Croft have steadied the ship for Lancashire.

  20. wicket

WICKET Hain c Robinson b Podmore 40published at 16:44 British Summer Time 2 July 2019

    Kent 585-7 dec, Warwickshire 341-3

Sam Hain is the third man out for Warwickshire as he gets strangled down the leg side by Harry Podmore, gets a touch on it and is caught behind.

Poor ball, poor shot, brilliant catch, one handed to his left by the lively Ollie Robinson.
