  2. wicket

WICKET Raine c Croft b Jennings 5published at 13:01 British Summer Time 2 July 2019

    Lancashire 337, Durham 274-9

Another one gone at Sedbergh School as Keaton Jennings gets in on the act.

Ben Raine goes cheaply, edging to slip - and that will delay lunch by half an hour as Lancashire attempt to wrap up the Durham innings.

What a transformation in the last half an hour.

At 263-5, with Jimmy Anderson forced out of the Lancashire attack, Durham were looking good to overhaul the hosts' first-innings total of 337.

But Graham Onions then struck three times in as many overs and now Jennings - only bowling as a stand-in for Anderson - has speeded up that Durham collapse.

Azhar Ali dabs Keith Barker down to third man for four to reach only his second half-century in the Championship this season.

Three runs to Tom Abell earlier in the over brought up a 100 opening partnership for the Division one leaders, who are now 164 ahead.

  4. wicket

WICKET Rimmington lbw b Onions 53published at 12:56 British Summer Time 2 July 2019

    Lancashire 337, Durham 274-8

Two in the over for Graham Onions, who strikes with both the first and the last ball of his 29th over.

This time he gets the key wicket of in-form Australian all-rounder Nathan Rimmington.

  5. wicket

WICKET Eckersley lbw b Onions 3published at 12:53 British Summer Time 2 July 2019

    Lancashire 337, Durham 269-7

A second wicket for Graham Onions as he traps Ned Eckersley.

  6. wicket

WICKET Rhodes c Robinson b Stewart 109published at 12:50 British Summer Time 2 July 2019

    Kent 585-7 dec, Warwickshire 222-1

Warwickshire's opening pair are finally parted at Canterbury, as Will Rhodes is caught behind off Grant Stewart, chasing a wide one.

Disappointing for the stattos, maybe, who had sensed some record-rewriting opportunities this afternoon.

But a relief for Kent, who have tasted a bit of their own medicine after their own run mountain.

Dom Sibley still there, just eight short of his own ton.

Century for Ravi Boparapublished at 12:45 British Summer Time 2 July 2019

    Notts 213, Essex 437-6

    Ravi BoparaImage source, Rex Features

Three figures for Essex's former England all-rounder Ravi Bopara.

It's his 31st in first-class cricket. It took almost exactly four hours. And it looked almost inevitable from the moment the 34-year-old all-rounder walked to the wicket. Never a moment of trouble. Nine fours.

Essex's second centurion in this innings, to follow Nick Browne's rather less rumbustious 163.

WICKET Fraine c Clark b Patel 43published at 12:44 British Summer Time 2 July 2019

    Yorkshire 327 & 95-1 v Surrey 362

That was a loose stroke an Will Fraine knows it.

The Yorkshire opener goes down on one knee to drive a wide ball in Ryan Patel's first over, but doesn't get over it and Jordan Clark takes the catch at gully.

Fraine taps the pitch with the toe-end of his bat before walking off. Yorkshire lead by 60.

  9. Northants set huge target at Hovepublished at 12:44 British Summer Time 2 July 2019

    Northants 273 & 331 v Sussex 106

    Alex Winter
    BBC Radio Northampton commentator

Champagne corks are popping at Hove, not quite yet for Northamptonshire who have set Sussex 499 to win, but for the Sussex Women's team who are enjoying Ladies Day here on another gorgeous sun-smothered day by the sea.

The target of 499 would be the highest fourth-innings score of all time for Sussex and looks terribly unlikely with enough help still available for the bowlers.

Ollie Robinson has been the only Sussex bowler made use of that help though. He picked up a second 10-for of the season and now has 40 wickets in the campaign - but had no support.

By contrast, the Northants attack were superb in the first innings and a similar effort will wrap this game up today.

  10. wicket

WICKET Trevaskis c Vilas b Onions 38published at 12:41 British Summer Time 2 July 2019

    Lancashire 337, Durham 263-6

Finally a breakthrough for Lancashire as Graham Onions has Liam Trevaskis caught behind, to end his 66-run stand with Aussie all-rounder Nathan Rimmington, who has 51.

New man is wicketkeeper Ned Eckersley.

  11. Crane's struggles continuepublished at 12:41 British Summer Time 2 July 2019

    Somerset 408 & 78-0 v Hampshire 349

There is absolutely no pleasure watching a young player suffering a crisis in confidence.

Hampshire spinner Mason Crane was expensive in Somerset's first innings and his first two overs of their second have cost 18 - including two no-balls in the latest.

Azhar Ali is 41 not out for the home side and their lead is now 137.

  12. Division Two round-uppublished at 12:37 British Summer Time 2 July 2019

Leaders Glamorgan have got rid of Ed Barnard for 56, with Michael Hogan claiming his third wicket of the innings. Worcestershire are now 247-7, 202 runs behind.

Northamptonshire have been bowled out for 331 at Hove, so Sussex will need to score 499 in five and a bit sessions to win the game. Ollie Robinson took 4-69 for matches figures of 10-132.

Middlesex are 194-4 in the 68th over against Derbyshire, with Dawid Malan now 67 not out. They trail by 363.

  13. 100 runs

Will Rhodes reaches his centurypublished at 12:33 British Summer Time 2 July 2019

    Kent 585-7 dec, Warwickshire 210-0

Will Rhodes' fifth first-class century - but his first this season.

His last hundred was also against Kent in last season's final game - the Division Two title decider - when both he and Dom Sibley reached three figures at Edgbaston.

Looks like history is about to be repeated, with Sibley so close to a third ton of 2019.

50 for Nathan Rimmingtonpublished at 12:31 British Summer Time 2 July 2019

    Lancashire 337, Durham 263-5

Coming on top of his four wickets yesterday, Australian Nathan Rimmington completes his first County Championship half-century for Durham.

Good game for him. Bad morning for a now Jimmy Anderson-less Lancashire.

Liam Trevaskis also going well on 38. This pair have now put on 66, the fourth half-century stand of the innings.

    Notts 213, Essex 422-6

A third wicket for India Test spinner Ravi Ashwin at Trent Bridge, in his 53rd over.

He bags Adam Wheater sweeping, for 23.

But Essex have all but doubled Notts' score.

Let-off for Frainepublished at 12:27 British Summer Time 2 July 2019

    Yorkshire 327 & 76-0 v Surrey 362

    How costly will that prove.

Will Fraine flashes at a ball from Rikki Clarke and England wicketkeeper Ben Foakes - of all people - fails to hang onto the chance as he dives in front of first slip and it runs away for four.

Spinner Gareth Batty is now operating from the other end as Surrey try to find a way to break this partnership.

  17. Double century stand for Rhodes and Sibleypublished at 12:22 British Summer Time 2 July 2019

    Kent 585-7 dec, Warwickshire 201-0

A first double century partnership for Warwickshire's prolific openers Will Rhodes and Dom Sibley.

Rhodes is on 97, Sibley is on 83 as the Bears respond well to Kent's massive 585-7 declared.

It is the Bears' best stand for any wicket this season - and their highest opening stand against Kent.

But the only statistic that matters is the follow-on target of 436. Just another 236 to go.

Good effort this from the injury-hit Bears. Quite apart from all the woes with their fast bowlers, they still haven't seen Ian Bell this season.

A poor ball by Fidel Edwards is cut away for four by Azhar Ali as Somerset's opening pair post a 50 partnership. There is still some movement for the bowlers, but Azhar is 26 not out, Tom Abell has 18 and their lead is now three figures.

Jimmy Anderson got a consoling pat from Lancashire team-mate Josh Bohannon as he walked off in search of treatment

With just a month to go until the first Ashes Test, the sight of James Anderson leaving the field of play, unable to complete his over, will be hugely concerning for England.

Anderson tried, unsuccessfully, three times to run in and bowl, the third time off just a couple of paces.

He appeared to try and stretch out his right leg before deciding to retreat to the dressing room in order to prevent any further damage.

Another Lancashire great, former England batsman Neil Fairbrother, is among those there at Sedbergh School to express their concern . . .

Nathan Buck is approaching a half-century for Northants at Hove, with the visitors 300-7 in their second innings, a massive lead of 467 over Sussex.

Still only one wicket so far for leaders Glamorgan, with Ed Barnard unbeaten on 55 in Worcestershire's 234-6 in Cardiff. They trail, though, by 215.

Lima Trevaskis and Nathan Rimmington are continuing to frustrate Lancashire at Sedbergh School. Durham are 245-5 and don't forget that Jimmy Anderson is off the field because of injury.
