And that is that at The Oval. Kent's day for sure as 50s from Zak Crawley, Joe Denly, Daniel Bell-Drummond and Heino Kuhn have already taken them beyond Surrey's first innings total.

Denly was out just 12 runs shy of his ton, while captain Kuhn is still at the crease on 50.

He'll be keen to push Kent into a winning position on day three and stretch that 14-run lead towards something decisive.

It's stumps at Arundel in the tour match and Australia A's openers, who are potentially embroiled in a shootout for one place in the Ashes squad, are both making a statement.

Marcus Harris is 100 not out but Joe Burns is still there on 88 and will hope to follow him to three figures tomorrow.

It's hard work for Sussex.

Kent skipper Heino Kuhn reaches 50 and then bad light forces the players off at The Oval. There are still 13.2 overs scheduled to be bowled, but that seems highly unlikely.

Kent are 14 runs ahead of Surrey now and in a strong position. Both sides probably want to get off the pitch.

Chris Nash will take no further part in the match at Taunton with Notts being permitted to replace him with Samit Patel as a concussion substitute.

All the best to Chris Nash, hopefully this is more precaution than anything else. He took a nasty blow on the helmet from a short-pitched Jamie Overton delivery when he was 50.

Warwickshire have a mountain to climb on the final day at the Ageas Bowl and it got a whole lot steeper when the lost three wickets to Kyle Abbott late on day three.

There was a brief burst of inspired bowling by Bears seamer Oliver Hannon-Dalby shortly before tea, but otherwise it was completely Hampshire's day with a steady stream of wickets this morning followed by explosive batting in the afternoon and evening and the removal of both Bears openers before the close.

They are reaping rewards for their big first-innings total and will fancy their chances of wrapping up a win tomorrow.

Durham have really dragged themselves back into this one and are now firmly on top at Grace Road. After polishing off the Leicestershire tail courtesy of a Chris Rushworth 5-for, Cameron Bancroft's so far unbeaten ton has led them to 191-1 and a lead of 96 runs.

Tom Lace reaches his ton in the final over of the day and will resume on 101 in the morning as Derbyshire look to push on from 272-6, a lead of 267 runs.

Worcestershire have let this slip having bowled them out for just 108 first up. They're now behind the eight ball.

As we thought, that's that.

Middlesex lead by 67 runs overnight.

Alex Davies reaches stumps on 124 for Lancashire. They've rebuilt superbly having been reduced to 2-2 at the beginning of their reply to Northants' 442.

They looked almost dead buried then, but fair play.

Bad light interrupts things between Middlesex and Gloucestershire at Merchant Taylors' School, with the former 67 runs ahead on 96-3 in their second innings.

Highly likely that we're done for the day there.

Somerset's actual openers of Tom Abell and Azhar Ali survive to the close after the failed experiment of using Tim Groenewald as a nightwatchmen to begin the innings.

They now lead Notts by 92 runs, largely thanks to a superb bowling performance from spin duo Dom Bess (5-59) and Jack Leach (3-79).

Ravi Ashwin has taken the early Somerset wicket, so it doesn't take a genius to work out what's happened to this Taunton pitch.

Yorkshire survive the final over, so Adam Lyth will resume on 9 and Harry Brook on 4. That was a real battle for those two after Essex quickly rattled through the top order.

A dominant day indeed for Essex after Ryan ten Doeschate ended not out on 70 following 81 from Tom Westley and an important cameo of 41 from Aaron Beard.

Yorkshire still trail by 86 runs and will have to contend with Simon Harmer on a day three pitch.

Durham skipper Cameron Bancroft has entered a real run of form. His second century in his last six innings has seen him post nearly 440 runs in that time.

His opening stand with Alex Lees, who has 65, is now 179 and Durham lead Leicestershire in their second innings by 84. What a fightback after they were bowled out in their first innings yesterday for 117.
