Hampshire are wasting no time building on their first-innings lead with first-innings centurion Ian Holland on 22 and debutant Felix Organ 11.

They will surely fancy another bowl at Warwickshire today. There are still 41 overs scheduled.

WICKET: Duckett c Davies b Bess 38published at 15:31 British Summer Time 8 July 2019

    Notts 176-2 v Somerset 326

A massive wicket for Somerset as Ben Duckett is caught behind off the bowling of England spinner Dom Bess. He was going like a train, so Somerset will be hoping that provides a little respite.

Division Two 50s galorepublished at 15:31 British Summer Time 8 July 2019

Lots going on in Division Two, with considerably better batting displays than yesterday.

Ryan Higgins finished unbeaten on 61 for Gloucestershire as they've posted 201 to secure a 22-run lead over Middlesex on first innings. It's now tea at Merchant Taylors' School too.

Tom Lace has reached his half-century to help Derbyshire push on against Worcestershire. They're now 168-4 in their second innings, 163 runs ahead.

And last but not least Alex Davies' 50 came from just 59 balls and included 10 fours for Lancashire as they've dragged themselves from 2-2 to 81 without the loss of a further wicket against Northants, still 361 runs adrift mind.

    Essex 282-8 v Yorkshire 208

    Kent 113-2 v Surrey 271

    Steady progress at The Oval.

  6. Duckett not messing aboutpublished at 15:05 British Summer Time 8 July 2019

    Notts 155-1 v Somerset 326

Nottinghamshire batsman Ben Duckett is keen to move this match along at apace. In particular, he has decided to attack the Somerset spin bowling.

Two sixes in as many minutes takes the England man on to 32 from just 26 deliveries. That's quick scoring by limited-overs standards!

  7. Hampshire bat againpublished at 15:04 British Summer Time 8 July 2019

    Hampshire 539 and 0-0 v Warwickshire 307

Warwickshire were 83 runs short of the follow-on target but Hampshire have opted not to put the visitors straight back in.

Instead, the bowlers will put their feet up for a while and the hosts will try to extend their 232-run first-innings advantage.

  8. WARWICKSHIRE 307 ALL OUTpublished at 14:59 British Summer Time 8 July 2019

    Hannon-Dalby c Rahane b Organ 4

The off-spin of Felix Organ brings an end to the Warwickshire innings as Oliver Hannon-Dalby becomes the last man out.

He gets an outside edge to a loopy delivery and gives an equally loopy catch to Ajinkya Rahane, who takes it at a lovely height around his chest.

Sam Hain ends unbeaten on 129.

Yorkshire's left-arm spinner Keshav Maharaj floats one up and ends a dangerous partnership between Essex captain Ryan ten Doeschate and feisty Aussie Peter Siddle by bowling the latter.

After quickly losing three wickets following the resumption of play, the hosts were rallying nicely and had just gone beyond 250 to secure a second batting bonus point.

WICKET: Crawley c Borthwick b Clark 69published at 14:49 British Summer Time 8 July 2019

    Kent 99-2 v Surrey 271

That's the end of Zak Crawley, who is seen off by a good piece of bowling by Jordan Clark.

The Surrey bowler gets one to move late and Crawley is sent packing by an outside edge and a smart, diving catch low down by Scott Borthwick at second slip.

There's a good match bubbling up here.

for Wayne Madsenpublished at 14:44 British Summer Time 8 July 2019

    Derbyshire 108 & 126-2 v Worcestershire 113

It's been a patient knock from Derbyshire skipper Wayne Madsen on a bombsite of a pitch at Kidderminster, well, it was up until this innings. He's taken 112 balls to reach his half-century, hitting eight boundaries.

I say it WAS a bad pitch because Derbyshire are now 126-2. They made 108 in their first innings and then bowled Worcestershire out for 113.

  13. 300 up for Warwickshirepublished at 14:39 British Summer Time 8 July 2019

    Warwickshire 300-9 v Hampshire 539

They remain a long way behind but Warwickshire have reached 300 with Sam Hain still there on 123.

Oliver Hannon-Dalby is the last man and they only need the small matter of 90 more to avoid the follow-on.

Moments after reaching his half-century, Nottinghamshire batsman Chris Nash is hit on the helmet by a Jamie Overton bouncer. Following a short delay and assessment it's decided that he will retire hurt on 50, with Ben Duckett coming to the wicket in his place.

Hopefully it's not serious and he'll be able to resume his innings later on.

    Essex 222-7 v Yorkshire 208

Simon Harmer of Essex chops a Matthew Fisher delivery on to his stumpsImage source, Rex Features

Yorkshire have come out for firing after the interval. Following the quick dismissal of Tom Westley lbw to Duanne Olivier, Essex briefly rebuilt before a double strike.

Adam Wheater is out for 6, nicking Ben Coad behind. Simon Harmer then soon followed him into the pavilion for 3 by chopping Matthew Fisher on to his stumps.

The Essex lead is just 15 runs and Yorkshire's tail is well and truly up.

WICKET: Stone run out 21published at 14:23 British Summer Time 8 July 2019

    Warwickshire 295-9 v Hampshire 539

Dear, oh dear, what a way to go.

Olly Stone pushes into the leg side, slips to the ground and decides not to run, then spots an overthrow as he gets back to his feet.

He takes a quick single then decides there's a second run there. There isn't.

Wicketkeeper Lewis McManus gathers Ajinkya Rahane's throw and takes the bails off with Stone short of his ground.

    Lancashire 2-2 v Northants 442

Haseeb Hameed of Lancashire is bowled by Ben SandersonImage source, Getty Images

Lancashire have lost two wickets almost straight away in their first innings and are staring down the barrel against Northamptonshire at Wantage Road.

Haseeb Hameed chops Ben Sanderson on to his stumps to follow Keaton Jennings - who edged the same man to slip - back to the hutch and it's 2-2.

Northants made 442, so this is even worse than it looks.

  18. Postpublished at 14:19 British Summer Time 8 July 2019

    Warwickshire 293-8 v Hampshire 539

Olly Stone is playing a very useful cameo with the bat. He is 20 not out and Sam Hain is still there on 120.

Tough to see the Bears' final two wickets adding the 97 they still need to avoid the follow-on, though.

  19. LEICESTERSHIRE 212 ALL OUTpublished at 14:18 British Summer Time 8 July 2019

    Leicestershire 212 v Durham 117

Durham's ever-reliable seamer Chris Rushworth bowls Mohammad Abbas for a duck to finish with impressive figures of 5-55. He's taken the final four wickets to help quickly polish off this Leicestershire tail and limit the hosts to a first-innings lead of 95.

It's 212 all out, with Colin Ackermann left stranded on 62.
