Rikki Clarke gets his second lbw decision in the space of five balls!

Sam Northeast is next to fall after scoring six from four balls.

From looking very steady a short time ago, Hampshire are suddenly three wickets down. Captain James Vince has been joined at the crease by Rilee Rossouw.

    Middlesex 42-6 v Sussex

Ollie Robinson is tearing Middlesex apart at Hove.

He has Stevie Eskinazi caught at slip to complete a five-for and then two balls later claims his sixth victim as James Harris goes in similar fashion.

The man known as 'The Rig' has 6-19 from seven overs and it would be a brave captain indeed who tried to prise the ball out of his grasp at the moment.

John Simpson and Toby Roland-Jones are now together for the visitors, who may not be enjoying their trip to the south coast at the moment.

  4. wicket

WICKET Holland lbw Clarke 51published at 15:32 British Summer Time 18 August 2019

    Hampshire 112-2 v Surrey

No sooner had Ian Holland finished celebrating his half-century, then he departs after being trapped lbw by Rikki Clarke.

The Hampshire opener scored 51 in 112 balls.

  5. No joy for Jamiepublished at 15:26 British Summer Time 18 August 2019

    Warwickshire 180-2 v Somerset

Jamie Overton has finished an excellent spell for Somerset at Edgbaston - but they are still waiting for a third wicket to arrive. It would appear he doesn't think he had much luck.

Rob Yates is now 85 not out, just seven short of a career-best, and Sam Hain is on 11.

  6. wicket

    WICKET Bresnan c Moores b Patterson-White 58published at 15:23 British Summer Time 18 August 2019

    Yorkshire 159-6 v Notts

Bresnan's resistance is ended by the spin of Liam Patterson-White, who claims his first wicket of the day.

Moores takes the catch behind the stumps after Bresnan gets a slight edge.

Notts have finally broken the valuable Yorkshire partnership of Bresnan and Tattersall, which has taken the batting side from 38-5 to 159-6.

Nice of Luke Wood to allow one of his team-mates to take a wicket too.

  7. Hampshire pass 100published at 15:21 British Summer Time 18 August 2019

    Hampshire 102-1 v Surrey

Ian Holland and James Vince have safely steered Hampshire past 100 at the Kia Oval.

Vince has scored quickly since coming in, with 25 from 20 balls as his side have looked to increase the run rate after a fairly slow start to the innings.

The sole Surrey breakthrough has come from Jordan Clark, who removed Felix Organ for 26

  8. 50 runs

for Samit Patelpublished at 15:18 British Summer Time 18 August 2019

    Glamorgan 203-8 v Lancashire

He's spent his entire career with Nottinghamshire - until now.

Samit Patel shows he still has what it takes after joining Glamorgan on loan by reaching a debut 50 with a single off Danny Lamb.

He has added 58 so far with Lukas Carey (30 not out) and the Welsh club have their first batting point.

  9. Play set to resume at Canterburypublished at 15:12 British Summer Time 18 August 2019

    Kent 11-1 v Essex

Finally, we are going to see some more action between Kent and Division One leaders Essex.

Only 9.1 overs have been possible so far because of rain - but the umpires have decided a resumption can go ahead at 15.30.

Mohammad Amir has five balls remaining to complete an over for Essex - and he has the only wicket to fall so far, bowling Zak Crawley for five.

  10. Division Two round-uppublished at 15:10 British Summer Time 18 August 2019

A big moment for 19-year-old paceman Ben Allison, who has taken his first Championship wicket after joining Gloucestershire on loan from Essex. He had Matt Critchley lbw and Derbyshire are 104-7 in the 50th over.

Glamorgan have suffered a mini-collapse at Colwyn Bay, slumping from 144-5 to 145-8 against leaders Lancashire. Danny Lamb has taken 4-47 and the Welsh club are now 178-8.

Alex Lees now has 121 not out for Durham, who are 193-2 in the 49th over against Leicestershire. Australia's Peter Handscomb is on 28 at the other end.

Ollie Robinson has so far taken 3-14 with the new ball to reduce Middlesex to 26-34 in the ninth over at Hove, where there was no play before lunch.

Northants have just begun their reply after bowling out Worcestershire for 186 and are 2-0 after a Joe Leach no-ball.

  11. Last pair boost Pears totalpublished at 14:58 British Summer Time 18 August 2019

    Worcs 186 v Northants

Skipper Joe Leach and Josh Tongue add 52 for the final Worcestershire wicket before they are finally all out at Wantage Road.

Although falling short of a batting bonus point, their total at least represents some sort of positive after they were 31-6 during the morning session.

Tongue is the last man to go, caught off Nathan Buck for 20, leaving Leach unbeaten on 53 from 39 balls.

Brett Hutton finishes with 6-57 for Northants. Now what can their batsmen make of this pitch?

    Hampshire 78-1 v Surrey

    Jordan ClarkImage source, Getty Images

Surrey's Jordan Clark takes the first wicket of the day at the Kia Oval by having Felix Organ caught behind.

Organ and fellow opener Ian Holland had been building the score nicely so that's an important wicket.

Captain James Vince is now at the crease and has already hit a boundary.

  13. 50 runs

for Tim Bresnanpublished at 14:55 British Summer Time 18 August 2019

    Yorkshire 144-5 v Notts

Bresnan joins his batting partner by making it to a half-century.

He scored the 50 in just under 100 balls, including seven fours.

The partnership of 100 from Tattersall and Bresnan has taken Yorkshire from the lows of 38-5 to the relative highs of 144-5.

A gutsy fightback and after such a despondent morning.

  14. 100 runs

for Alex Leespublished at 14:47 British Summer Time 18 August 2019

    Durham 173-2 v Leicestershire

    Alex LeesImage source, Rex Features

A slightly unusual way to bring up a century, but Durham opener Alex Lees won't care about that as he reaches three figures for the third time in this summer's Championship.

He gets into position to play a pull shot off Chris Wright, but the ball doesn't get up as much as he expected and he ends up playing it to the mid-wicket boundary.

It's the 15th first-class century of his career and he celebrates by hitting the next two balls for four as well - although the second is hardly convincing as he edges between the keeper and first slip.

    That should have been taken.

  15. Somerset keep it tightpublished at 14:46 British Summer Time 18 August 2019

    Warwicks 166-2 v Somerset

Somerset have succeeded in checking the Warwickshire scoring rate following the wicket of Will Rhodes.

Rob Yates is still there on 71 not out, but Jamie Overton and Dom Bess are bowling well, with only occasional singles coming in recent overs.

Sam Hain has five from 22 balls faced at the other end.

  17. Division Two round-uppublished at 14:35 British Summer Time 18 August 2019

The Worcestershire tail is putting up determined resistance at Northampton, but they are now 144-9 in the 41st over. Ed Barnard was the last to go, bowled off the inside edge by Dwayne Pretorius for 27.

Glamorgan are 126-4 in the 46th against leaders Lancashire, with former England all-rounder Samit Patel 22 not out in his first innings for the home side.

Ryan Higgins now has four wickets for Gloucestershire, who have reduced Derbyshire to 88-6 in the 42nd - with Alex Hughes 19 not out.

Alex Lees is now only 10 runs short of what would be his third Championship hundred of the summer for Durham, who are 142-2 against Leicestershire. Angus Robson was lbw to Will Davis for 16.

Meanwhile, Robson's brother Sam fell to the first ball of the match at Hove, caught behind off Ollie Robinson for a duck. Middlesex are 0-1 following Robinson's wicket maiden for Sussex.

    Yorkshire 122-5 v Notts

Tattersall arrived at the crease this morning with his team in disarray, making the half-century he has just completed all the more impressive.

It has come from 103 balls and included six fours, and his partnership with Tim Bresnan, now worth 88, has been equally invaluable.

    WICKET Rhodes c Davies b C Overton 82published at 14:14 British Summer Time 18 August 2019

    Warwicks 153-2 v Somerset

Will Rhodes isn't happy as impetuosity costs him his wicket at Edgbaston.

The Warwickshire opener couldn't resist playing at a wide one from Craig Overton, but only succeeded in giving keeper Steven Davies a comfortable catch, moving to his left.

His downfall ends a 153-run stand with Rob Yates, who pulls Overton away later in the over for his 11th four. He is 67 not out and has now been joined by Sam Hain.
