    Worcs 10-1 v Essex

    Tymal Mills
Sussex bowler on BBC Radio 5 Live Sports Extra

I'm backing Essex Eagles, if there's a little bit of turn it could be the type of night where Ryan ten Doeschate and Ravi Bopara are chasing a total, they are the type of guys who have been there and seen it.

  2. 'Both teams have players who can win games'published at 18:51 British Summer Time 21 September 2019

    Worcs 10-1 v Essex

    Ian Bell
Former England batsman on BBC Radio 5 Live Sports Extra

I'm going with Essex to to win but it's really balanced, both teams have players who can win games on their own.

  3. Worcs 10-1 v Essexpublished at 1 over

Worcestershire skipper Moeen Ali is the next man in for the Rapid, but Dan Lawrence's first ball to him is a wide down the leg side.

Moeen looks like a man in a hurry, however, hitting each of the next two balls in the air - the first to the rope, the second just short of the man on the edge of the circle.

    Lively start.

  4. Big blow for the Rapidspublished at 18:48 British Summer Time 21 September 2019

    Worcs 5-1 v Essex

    David Bradley
BBC Hereford and Worcester cricket commentator

We saw the Essex spinners in the semi-final really turn it. This time it's Dan Lawrence. That's a big, big blow for Worcester.

WICKET Rutherford b Lawrence 5published at 0.3 overs

    Worcs 5-1 v Essex

Well, I said it was turning - and boy does this one turn!

Dan Lawrence's second ball finds the outside edge of Hamish Rutherford's bat, streaking away for four to third man, but there's no getting any timber on his third delivery.

It's an absolute snorter, gripping off the surface and clean bowling a bemused Rutherford.

  6. Wide to start!published at 0.1 overs

    Worcs 1-0 v Essex

That's turned a mile from Dan Lawrence! The problem for Essex, however, is that he barely lands it on the strip. Amusing start to the final.

It has been a belting day at Edgbaston. We’ve seen some belting cricket too.

And history is about to be made, one way or the other.

Whether it is Essex winning for the first time, or Worcestershire becoming the first side to successfully defend their trophy, one of these sides will be making an ingress to cricket’s record books.

  14. How the Eagles got here...published at 18:32 British Summer Time 21 September 2019

Worcestershire Rapids v Essex Eagles (18:45 BST)

Essex's victory in the second semi-final was a bit more comfortable.

The Eagles made 160-5 thanks to Cameron Delport's blistering half-century at the top of the order.

Derbyshire's reply never got going and they eventually folded to 126 all out.

It set up a first-ever meeting between Essex and Worcestershire in the T20 Blast. And what an occasion for it.

Worcestershire Rapids v Essex Eagles (18:45 BST)

If you weren't with us earlier, then you missed an absolute thriller between Worcestershire and Notts Outlaws in the first semi-final.

Worcestershire's 147-9 looked below par, and they were well out of the game as Notts cruised to 100-1.

The Outlaws needed 11 off the final two overs but Pat Brown and Wayne Parnell gave nothing away and Ben Duckett missed the last delivery to give the Rapids victory by one run.

  16. 'Dew will allow the ball to skid on later'published at 18:26 British Summer Time 21 September 2019

Worcestershire Rapids v Essex Eagles (18:45 BST)

    Ebony Rainford-Brent
Ex-England batter on BBC Radio 5 Live Sports Extra

When dew gets onto the grass what it will do to the ball is allow it to skid on. At the moment we've seen quite a dry surface so the ball has gripped and turned.

So later the ball will skid on nicely and it will be hard for the bowlers to hold the ball and use all their tricks, it will be much more easier to bat.
