Alzarri Joseph is on for his first proper spell in the game.
Here's how Jason Holder saw off Zak Crawley.

Of all the young players we've seen over the last few years, Ollie Pope looks to me like the one who can get to that high level for a long period of time.

That was a beautiful shot. The best shot we've seen for months.
Stokes 9, Pope 10
Lawrence is currently up on the England balcony with his disposable gloves after running the drinks. We could see him before the series is out. The 22-year-old looked good in the warm-up game.
One player Lawrence will not be replacing though is Ollie Pope. Baby Bell hits two beautiful boundaries, one through the leg-side and one through the off, to remind us there is still good in the world.

Simon Dewhurst: Everyone is suggesting that one of Denly/Crawley will miss out on the next Test. In my opinion both should be dropped with Dan Lawrence given a chance - a specialist middle-order batsmen who has been in fine form for Essex over the last two years.
It's England's normal normal. I like that.

Ian Butler: England's upper order covering themselves with glory at the Ageas Bowl ... is this the new normal or normal normal?
What was it about England being 70-4 we missed again?

Jonny: Decision to bat first looks more and more stupid by the over. England can't be expected to contend with India and Australia for top rankings if they give every opponent nation an easy opportunity to win a Test in England.
Stokes 9, Pope 1
Fast bowling was always going to be West Indies' strength in this series. England handed them perfect conditions to show it at the toss yesterday and now the tourists are taking full advantage.

West Indies have got a real sniff. They will be looking at getting England 90-6. Young players like Crawley, when you get opportunities you have to take them.
It's a lot earlier than many would have liked but England do now have their two batsmen in.
Ollie Pope joins his skipper in the middle.

Jason Holder is all smiles. Where does this leave the Denly/Crawley question with Joe Root set to return?
Crawley lbw Holder 10 (Eng 71-4)
Gone!
It's another top review from West Indies. They're having the perfect morning.
Third umpire Michael Gough talks us through it in his beautiful Hartlepudlian tones. Once he had confirmed there was no bat Crawley was always struggling. The ball-tracking showed it would have knocked out leg stump.
There's a spike but that's bat hitting pad. Crawley is in trouble here.

Inside edge is the only thing that can save him here.
This looks a close one! I was expecting the finger to go up.
Holder hits Crawley on the pad. The umpire says no but Holder wants another look.
Wicketkeeper Shane Dowrich tosses the ball to Jason Holder at the end of the over. Holder uses the sweat on his brow to shine the ball.
No saliva allowed remember.

That was a class shot by Stokes. A wide bat, sees the gap, he walks down the pitch and is not worried about the pace of Kemar Roach.
