Amid all the comforting return to normal of the cricket - vintage West Indies bowling, a classic England batting collapse - I think the thing I'm most relieved about is that we seem to have gone back to proper cricket jumpers, not those weird ones England had the other year.

These signs are everywhere. I can't see one without thinking of Homer Simpson saying he can't go to work tomorrow because it's "The Feast of Maximum Occupancy".

Arjun Singh: I’ve been so impressed with Mark Wood so far. Consistent pace, but also very accurate and now getting some lovely shape into the batsmen. Hoping to see a few off stumps cartwheeling.

    Top stuff, Matt.

England plugging away but West Indies win yet another session. It's advantage to the tourists.

Can England take a few quick wickets after lunch?

A run-rate of 3.7 is a good indication. You aim to get the opposition under the three mark and England haven't got close to that, it shows their slight inconsistency with the ball.

Credit to West Indies, that first half hour against Jimmy was difficult. But they dug in.

Surely we can get one of the TMS team kitted out, Simon? That's enough from me, though. Kal Sajad will take you through the afternoon session.

England desperately need wickets - and to stem the Windies' run-rate.

Simon: I know they can’t have a full crowd in, but can they at least get someone to run around the stands dressed as the Honey Monster at about 5pm, otherwise it won’t really feel like Friday at the Test.

At most, it is 20 seconds from a bowler starting his run, to a batsman playing his shot, running, and the ball being fielded. If the ball is defended or left alone, it's much less.

In a full day of Test cricket, the ball is actually only in play for two to three hours. The rest of time? That's filled with fancy dress, beer snakes and songs. Without the crowd, a lot of the Test experience is removed.

Stuart Broad, he can say what he likes. I don't mind it at all.

During my career, I perhaps didn't say enough. The spinner was always the first bowler to be left out. And sometimes I wish I'd have been a bit more vocal. You feel like it but you just bottle it up.

But on the flip side, which might be a bit ironic, when we were touring the Caribbean or Barbados or somewhere, and there was a little bit of green and Michael Atherton told me that we're going for the four seamers, I was seen running off the pitch and punching in the air.

Ah, Stuart Broad. He's been pretty honest this morning in an interview with Sky Sports, saying he is "angry" to be left out of the team for this Test.

"I've found the last couple of days quite tough," the 34-year-old said. "To say I'm disappointed would be an understatement."

    Read more about that here.

With Stuart Broad and Chris Woakes in the England team, West Indies wouldn't have as many runs, these are more attacking bowlers.

But this is a ploy by the selectors to try and give these guys more experience of playing with just one of Jimmy or Stuart. They've decided they want to see what it's like without that pairing in these conditions.

They are trying to plan for the future. We're not ruling out Stuart and Jimmy playing together again in the future, I think they definitely will.

England haven't helped themselves, mind. Jofra Archer got this wicket, only to see it overturned because he had overstepped.

Luckily, Dom Bess spared his blushes a short time later.

Well, if we're being honest, West Indies are firmly in control. They are practising what England preach, and their disciplined batting is edging them towards a first-innings lead. By the end of the day, they could quite easily be 150 runs in front.

The Corpulent Cricketers' Club: Think England are trying to engineer this situation. West Indies go from 370-3 to 400 all out after a super spell from Archer. Stokes chases down the runs with one wicket left. We all hail the return of Test cricket and the balm it provides.

It's been OK for England but hasn't been brilliant. There were times when they bowled well but you have to give credit to West Indies.

England managed two wickets (see below) but that still has to be West Indies' session.

They head to lunch just 45 runs behind.
