  1. Eng 30-2published at 15 overs

Michael Holding has just pointed out that Kemar Roach has not taken a wicket in Test cricket for 62 overs.

Joe Root prods his final ball away and shouts "NO!" as loudly as he can muster.

  2. Not outpublished at 14.4 overs

And that is exactly the case.

    Joe Root survives.

From here it's very, very close. Has Joe Root just got outside the line?

    No bat involved.

This might have hit him outside the line...

  5. West Indies reviewpublished at 14:15 British Summer Time 16 July 2020

    Oh Kemar Roach likes this!

A big lbw shout against Joe Root, nothing doing from the umpire, but Jason Holder sends it upstairs...

  6. dropped catch

    Eng 30-2

Edged - and dropped! No, wait, it's just short!

Oh, let's not do that, England! Dom Sibley goes pushing outside his off stump and a thick outside edge flies just, just, past Jason Holder at second slip. Could he step a little further forward, maybe? Those slips are deep and it might have saved Sibley...

    Here's Kemar Roach.

Crawley just turned it straight into Holder's hands. It's almost one of those drills you do in the morning - a simple underarm.

  9. Eng 29-2published at 14 overs

Joe Root sees out the rest of the over.

I've seen Zak Crawley's dismissal from every angle now. Awful from all of them.

    Hello!

Turn for Roston Chase, and Joe Root shuffles back in his crease after being tempted into a little tickle down the leg side.

"Keep going Ros!" is the cry from behind the stumps.

    Here he goes...

It's amazing how quickly it changes. It was almost as if Zak Crawley didn't know the leg slip was in there. Played for and got. From England cruising to 29-2 - West Indies are on top.

What is it about Roston Chase and England?!

    Anyway, he's on a hat-trick. Somehow.

  15. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 13.3 overs

    Crawley c Holder b Chase 0 (Eng 29-2)

    My WORD.

Zak Crawley goes to his first ball! It's a poor dismissal, you have to say, the number three trying to tickle a drifting delivery around the corner and instead helping it straight to the waiting Jason Holder at leg slip. It was like he didn't register the West Indies skipper was stood right there, waiting for the shot! A good catch from Holder, too, getting his hands down low.

    Right. Cricket!

Here's Roston Chase, finishing off his pre-lunch over.

(This is a rhetorical question, it is quite clearly World in Motion.)

Obviously there are no fans in the ground for this match and that means no renditions of Jerusalem from the England fans or no Rally Round the West Indies.

    Well, fear not.

Have a watch. You'll see some familiar faces...

See, this is the sort of niche chatter I've missed.

You don't get people talking about three-letter names when you're queuing to get in to Tesco.
