I'm not saying that I've got lazier during lockdown, but this is normally the time of day I'd be heading for an afternoon nap.
I'll have to settle for Dom Sibley crashing a filthy ball from Shannon Gabriel away for four. Short, wide, hoicked behind square.

West Indies haven't been great in the field. They have just looked off it.
Jason Holder has brought himself back on to bowl, and he can only watch Dom Sibley pinch a single as the close fielder makes a mess of stopping the ball.
Sigh.

Chase's Status has soared here.

Shannon Gabriel looks pleasingly grumpy today.
A short ball, still tailing down the leg side, is dealt with easily by Dom Sibley. Joe Root has an unconvincing swish at the final ball of the over but survives a half-heated appeal for caught behind.
He didn't, Tom. But he also didn't get a century either, which is what's cost him his place.

Did Denly ever get a duck for England?

That was perfect timing and placement. The England captain is starting to look OK.
I'm still not used to there being no applause when someone hits a boundary. There's a polite smattering from the England balcony as Joe Root sends a lovely clip off his legs racing away for four.
Kemar Roach's response to being hit for four is to cannon his final ball of the over into Root's knee. Ouch.

Chris Podd: Zak Crawley, in five Tests, has opened, batted four and now batted three. For a young Test batsman is this befuddled movement at all helpful?

On another day that would have gone straight onto Root's stumps. He is a lucky boy. That could have gone anywhere.
Ugh. Joe Root aims a shot through extra cover and ends up under-edging the ball just past his stumps.
Hands on head for Shannon Gabriel as Root jogs past him for a single, before Dom Sibley slaps his bat down on an attempted yorker.

I wonder whether Shannon Gabriel will test Joe Root with some short balls.
A change - here's Shannon Gabriel, who bowled a terrible new-ball spell this morning.
Play and a miss from Dom Sibley, fishing once again outside his off stump, but Kemar Roach's wait for a wicket goes on.

He has picked up a couple of bonus wickets.

West Indies have been much better in the afternoon.
It is getting to the stage where Chase might have to have a breather.
My favourite thing about the James Anderson End is, during the World Cup, when Jimmy was working as a summariser for TMS, he tried to park at that bit of the ground, and was told he couldn't. He couldn't bring himself to point out that he was that James Anderson, and so ended up driving off and parking halfway down the road. An actual hero.
