Australia are dragging themselves off. How did they let that one slip?

That's an excellent end from England. That will really lift them after being in a perilous situation earlier in the innings.

England have a skip in their step. Australia really couldn't finish things off. They had their foot on the jugular but couldn't finish England off.

  3. Eng 231-9published at 50 overs

Swatted for four! Archer gets the frying pan out to hit straight back past Marsh. He finishes with six from two deliveries. From nowhere, England have something to bowl at.

  4. Eng 227-9published at 49.5 overs

Clubbed to long-off. Again Rashid gets back for two.

    James Anderson
England bowler on Test Match Special

It's a really good knock from Tom Curran - it was just what England needed. You just get the feeling that Australia are flat here, there no was celebration.

England have just switched the momentum and they may be going in as the slightly happier team at the moment.

    T Curran b M Marsh 37 (Eng 225-9)

Bowled him! Tom Curran misses a swipe across the line, but that gutsy knock has kept England in the game.

    Here comes Jofra...

    It is a thing now!

The previous occasion was in Lahore in 2005 when Liam Plunkett and Vikram Solanki, batting at 10, as a substitute for James Anderson did it.

  8. Eng 225-8published at 49.3 overs

It's brilliant running again to bring two more.

  9. Eng 223-8published at 49.2 overs

Clothed to long-on, but Rashid gets back for two.

  10. Eng 221-8published at 49.1 overs

Wide down the leg side. One more and an extra ball.

    Andy Zaltzman

A nice little stat has just come up. Both of these players have reached the quarter century mark - it's only the second time in ODI cricket that England's nine and 10 have posted a quarter century.

  13. Eng 220-8published at 49.1 overs

Pulled for four by Tom Curran!

Dave: Batting looking easy now. Is that a worry for England?

  15. Eng 216-8published at 49 overs

Mitch Marsh to bowl the last over.

You can keep your Jason Roy's and Jonny Bairstow's - I would pay the admission fee alone to watch Adil Rashid bat. It's so much fun and never ends up where you think it's going to.

  17. Eng 216-8published at 49 overs

    T Curran 29, Rashid 35

Rashid's 35 have come from only 26 balls. It feels like game on now.

  18. Eng 215-8published at 48.5 overs

Make that 17. Rashid slices to third man for three.

  19. How's stat?!published at 16:46 British Summer Time 13 September 2020

    Andy Zaltzman

That first four brought up the fifty partnership from exactly eight overs. It's only England's eighth fifty stand for the ninth wicket in ODI cricket. Adil Rashid was involved in the last one too.

  20. Eng 212-8published at 48.4 overs

    Four to long-on!

It's brilliant from Rashid. 14 off the over so far.
