A bit of AC/DC from the DJ. You can't say the choice of music isn't eclectic. It's a bit of a phoney war at the moment. England knocking it around, Australia not unhappy for them to do so. Adam Zampa finishes with 3-36 from 10. Excellent. Which Australia bowler hasn't been?

England haven't often been bowled out for less than 200 - it's only happened three times in the last five years since it happened here against Australia, when they were bowled for just 138 in 33 overs.

In that time, they have only once been bowled out for less at 200 at home, against South Africa at Lord's in 2017.

  3. Eng 160-8published at 43 overs

That's a lovely leg-cutter from Marsh to finish the over, completely befuddling Curran. England aren't reaching 200 at this rate.

This the first time the Curran brothers have played together for England in England. It's the first time two brothers have played in an England home match since the Hollioakes in 1997.

Mitch Marsh back, bowling to his childhood friend Tom Curran, who dances to clip over mid-wicket for four.

Andy: England have played Zampa as if he is Shane Warne.

I don't think the two are mutually exclusive, Steve. In fact, the museum of England batting collapses would have plenty of exhibits.

When can we stop eulogising over rubbish museums and start discussing England's risible batting display?

Adam Zampa is back on. He's taken three wickets so far.

I think it was the right decision for England to bat first - I can't see it getting any better to bat on.

  11. Eng 150-8published at 41 overs

Josh Hazlewood is done with 1-27 from 10 overs. 1-27! England have barely got him off the square.

Jonny Green: Just to clarify - this IS the same England ODI side that won the World Cup, isn't it? Seems like all the confidence and fluency has gone - or have the Aussies just got so much better in the interim?

From what I know of the Old Trafford bubble, that would suggest Amy has been in the tuck shop in the hotel reception.

What will last longer - England's innings or this can of Pringles I've just opened?

Adil Rashid is the new man. I think the phrase about his batting is "he hits it in unusual places".

It's a great piece of bowling again. It's a heavy length, that Test match sort of length and line.

Chris Woakes has probably looked one of the best of the England batsman, though.

  17. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 40.1 overs

    Woakes c Carey b Hazlewood (Eng 149-8)

If there was a metronome museum, Josh Hazlewood would be in it. He's banging away again here, nicking off Chris Woakes. Good length, off stump, hint of movement. Alex Carey does the rest. England might not make the 50 overs here.

Josh Hazlewood has bowled 19 overs in this series and conceded 52 runs. He's wicketless today but took three wickets on Friday.

His seventh over on Friday went for 14, his second today went for 12. Half of his runs have come from two overs and his other 17 have gone for 26.

  19. Eng 149-7published at 40 overs

TV cameras capture Steve Smith on his balcony, head back and eyes closed. I know Smith played in the T20s, but it got me thinking to the players that haven't played at all after flying 10,000 miles to be here. The ultimate 'thanks for coming'.

England have got to try and get something on the board. There's no point just slogging it up in the air - it's a cardinal sin not using up your overs.

They will be aiming for 200 - at least if you get that you'll think you've got half a chance if you bowl miraculously.
