It's related to how Dom Sibley is set up. He likes to get the bat out in front of him and flick it when it is straight.
He's predominately on side and gets a lot of runs and sometimes your strength can be your weakness.

Dom Sibley has been caught down the leg side three times by the wicketkeeper. He's also been caught at mid-wicket and leg gully so five times out of 17 dismissals.
Pak 236
Pakistan have the field in, three slips, short cover and short mid-wicket as Abbas tests Pope's technique and the young Surrey batsman records his first boundary with an Ian Bell-like clip off his pads.

Rachel T: Crawley & Sibley nobly falling on their swords to give everyone else a net...

Lovely fast hands from Pope and he collects three with his cut at Yasir to signal the England 100.

This is what the English summer should be all about - it has been for a while but the doom and gloom has just descended over Southampton this week.
OJD Pope, fresh from that fine 62 in the first Test at Old Trafford, gets away with a single of Abbas, who has 2-19 from 11 overs. Glorious evening sunshine around this attractive stadium.

Like most people I was hugely impressed with how Zak Crawley came out and played. He clearly didn't change anything - he had an aggressive mindset which is what he normally comes out with and he wanted to take the positive option. He took any opportunity to score and I suppose Joe Root and Ollie Pope have to do the same here.
Pak 236
Root opens his account with two into the leg side off Yasir. We've had 30 overs in the afternoon sunshine, having started at 15:20, and England have added 87 for the loss of two wickets.

MJMoorton: I’d like a new ICC rule to say that if Test matches lose more than 50% playing time then matches can be decided by one innings each, as opposed to two.
Wickets in consecutive overs for Abbas and Ollie Pope joins his captain, who has had a tricky start to his innings, yet to score from six deliveries.

Dom Sibley will be kicking himself because he got himself in and he's the sort of guy that likes to convert. Everyone gets low scores when you bat at the top of the order but Sibley prides himself that when he gets in, he's got such good concentration and he doesn't get too flustered.
Here's how Crawley fell and Sibley has just followed in the next over from Abbas.
Sibley c Rizwan b Abbas 32 (Eng 92-3)
Sibley strangled. The old leg side dismissal. Probably surprised Abbas bowled one anywhere other than bang on off stump.
Pak 236
The Ageas Bowl bathed in splendid sunshine as Root takes guard a foot in front of his crease to Yasir and keeps him out safely.

Zak Crawley is the 15th England player to have three or more half-centuries before the age of 23. Five of those are playing in this team - Stuart Broad, Joe Root, Sam Curran, Ollie Pope and now Crawley.
The 10 before them were Alastair Cook, Michael Atherton, David Gower, Ian Botham, Alan Knott, Colin Cowdrey, Peter May, Dennis Compton, Len Hutton and Frank Woolley, so an illustrious list.
England captain Joe Root is the new batsman and he is beaten first up by a fine ball nipping away from Abbas. Successive deliveries then beat the bat to complete the over as Root looks all at sea, though he still responds with his trademark mischievous grin.

D Gall: There is still time for a double England batting collapse here...

Zak Crawley was playing across the line, that's why he missed the ball. There was hardly any movement but because Mohammad Abbas hit the seam that has deceived Zak Crawley.
I like Crawley though because he is attacking at the crease but has a solid defence too.
