And that's your lot for day three.

I'm not sure how much cricket we'll get tomorrow, but please do join us from 10:45 BST. We'll be battening down the hatches.

    Until then, goodbye!

  2. Close of play at Wantage Roadpublished at 19:12 British Summer Time 24 August 2020

    Northamptonshire 62-1 (Target 189) v Glamorgan

Bad light and then a little drizzle brings the close two overs early at Northampton.

The hosts have made four-and-a-half an over progress but still need 127 to win.

They will need a session at least tomorrow to finish the job.

  3. Stumps at Chester-le-Streetpublished at 19:09 British Summer Time 24 August 2020

    Durham 337-9 dec v Derbyshire 355-4

North Group leaders Derbyshire go past 350 and bring up their fourth batting bonus point in the process.

    And that's stumps.

  4. Close of play at Grace Roadpublished at 19:08 British Summer Time 24 August 2020

    Leics 222 & 143-3 v Notts 343-8 dec

Stumps at Grace Road, where Leicestershire's batsmen have resisted everything Notts have thrown at them second time around.

Captain Colin Ackermann is there on 58.

  5. Postpublished at 19:06 British Summer Time 24 August 2020

    Northamptonshire 55-1 (Target 189) v Glamorgan

For the second time in the match Northamptonshire have shrugged off their failings late on in the field and are batting well.

It's only a modest target and this pitch has proved amenable to proper batting.

It's just a case of how much time the home side are afforded tomorrow.

  6. Postpublished at 19:02 British Summer Time 24 August 2020

Into the final couple of overs in the remaining three matches now. Boy, these are long days when you get a bit of rain!

  7. Close of play at Headingleypublished at 18:46 British Summer Time 24 August 2020

    Yorkshire 260 v Lancashire 195-5

That's it for the day at Headingley. And I'm sad to say, that could well be the last action we see in this Roses match.

  8. wicket

WICKETpublished at 18:42 British Summer Time 24 August 2020

    Du Plooy b Harte 40 (Durham 337-9 dec v Derbys 313-4)

Leus du Plooy is bowled by a Gareth Harte yorker as Derbyshire go in search of late runs.

Like Leeds, the forecast in Durham tomorrow is horrendous!

  9. Close of play at New Roadpublished at 18:39 British Summer Time 24 August 2020

    Worcestershire 410-7 v Warwickshire 355-9d and 68-0

They've got through the overs at New Road and Warwickshire have avoided any drama, wiping out the first-innings deficit of 55.

Again a case of waiting for the weather tomorrow to see if any run chase can be set up.

You would think both sides would be keen to try for a positive result.

  10. Close of play at Tauntonpublished at 18:39 British Summer Time 24 August 2020

    Somerset v Gloucestershire 63-8 (Target 385)

That is indeed the end of the third day at Taunton with Somerset just two wickets away from victory.

It's now case of hoping that Storm Francis blows through the West Country in time - and without too much damage - to allow some play tomorrow.

Three overs to go tonight at Headingley, and then we'll just see what tomorrow brings.

It's bright sunshine now, but Tuesday's forecast in Leeds is appalling!

  12. Postpublished at 18:36 British Summer Time 24 August 2020

    Durham 337-9 dec v Derbyshire 307-3

Derbyshire go past 300 and earn a third batting bonus point. That's five bonus points for the North Group leaders so far in this match and they'll probably take another eight with the draw.

Are we going to see Derbyshire in the five-day Lord's final?

    Somerset v Gloucestershire 63-8 (Target 385)

More gnashing of teeth from Somerset as they umpires take the players off.

Three minutes until the scheduled close so I would imagine that's it for the day.

  14. MIDDLESEX BEAT SUSSEXpublished at 18:23 British Summer Time 24 August 2020
    Breaking

    Middlesex (203 & 193-5) beat Sussex (293 & 102) by five wickets

Middlesex looked a bit shaky at times in this chase, but John Simpson and Martin Andersson have seen them over the line with an unbroken stand of 63.

Middlesex climb to second in the South Group, two points behind Essex, but of course Essex will take home a load of points from Arundel tomorrow.

Essex host Middlesex in the final round of fixtures starting on 6 September - it could well be a winner takes all match!

  15. 50 runs

for Ackermannpublished at 18:20 British Summer Time 24 August 2020

    Leics 222 & 130-3 v Notts 343-8 dec

Leicestershire skipper Colin Ackermann goes to fifty with his side just having edged into the lead against their East Midlands rivals.

The Foxes are nine runs in front.

    Payne c Hildreth b C Overton 1 (Somerset v Gloucestershire 63-8, target 385)

    Somerset are closing in!

Full and straight from Craig Overton, David Payne pokes at it and edges to first slip. It's a fourth wicket for the big paceman.

    Five overs remain tonight.

  17. Restart at Wantage Roadpublished at 18:16 British Summer Time 24 August 2020

    Northamptonshire 1-0 (target 189) v Glamorgan

Turns out it was the lightest of showers and they're back out in Northampton with 14.2 overs left in the day.

  18. wicket

WICKETpublished at 18:13 British Summer Time 24 August 2020

    Jones c Tattersall b Hill 21 (Yorks 260 v Lancs 177-5)

And another! Lancashire lose two wickets in two balls.

Rob Jones plays a loose drive and nicks George Hill behind.

    It's a maiden first-class wicket for Hill.

  19. rain stops play

Rain stops play at Wantage Roadpublished at 18:12 British Summer Time 24 August 2020

    Northamptonshire 1-0 (target 189) v Glamorgan

It's been another head-banging afternoon for Northamptonshire.

The game was at their mercy but now they're hostage to the weather.

Will there be enough time left in the game to chase this score?

  20. wicket

WICKETpublished at 18:11 British Summer Time 24 August 2020

    Vilas lbw b Olivier 41 (Yorks 260 v Lancs 177-4)

    The captain is gone!

But Dane Vilas could do little about it. The ball from Yorkshire paceman Duanne Vilas keeps low, nips back in and smacks him in front.

That just about evens things up.
