  1. wicket

WICKETpublished at 18:09 British Summer Time 24 August 2020

    Higgins lbw C Overton 21 (Somerset v Gloucestershire 61-7, target 385)

Maybe that break didn't do Gloucestershire a favour.

They'd just found a little partnership before the break but once again, Somerset strike immediately on resumption.

Full and straight from Craig Overton and Ryan Higgins is done for pace.

    Three more for the Cidermen.

  2. Close of play at The Ovalpublished at 18:09 British Summer Time 24 August 2020

    Surrey 278 v Kent 342 & 118-9

Just as they were about to come back on at The Oval, the rain returned, so that'll be it for the day.

  3. Postpublished at 18:02 British Summer Time 24 August 2020

    Yorkshire 260 v Lancashire 171-3

Dane Vilas is beginning to motor in the evening sunshine at Headingley.

The Lancashire skipper punches Duanne Olivier through point for his sixth boundary.

The right-hander is on 36 and his stand with Rob Jones is worth 60.

    Middlesex 167-5 (target 193) v Sussex

    John SimpsonImage source, Rex Features

Martin Andersson and John Simpson are taking Middlesex home.

Simpson has decided attack is the best option and has struck a couple of fours and a six in his 17 off 26 balls.

26 more needed, five wickets in hand.

  5. 18:05 BST restart at Tauntonpublished at 17:53 British Summer Time 24 August 2020

    Somerset v Gloucestershire 61-6 (Target 385)

Another little window for Somerset, there are potentially 7.1 overs left in the day.

  6. Postpublished at 17:52 British Summer Time 24 August 2020

    Yorkshire 260 v Lancashire 160-3

Lancashire are exactly 100 behind Yorkshire, but they get there with a bit of fortune.

Dane Villas swats at a wide delivery from George Hill, edges it, and first slip can't cling on with one hand. It was a really tough chance.

Captain Vilas is on to 30.

  7. wicket

WICKETpublished at 17:49 British Summer Time 24 August 2020

    Reece c Potts b Rushworth 122 (Durham 337-9 dec v Derbys 244-3)

Luis Reece goes for a magnificent 122.

The Derbyshire opener tries to pump Chris Rushworth over the top, but skies the ball and Matty Potts clings on in the deep.

  8. wicket

Glamorgan all outpublished at 17:48 British Summer Time 24 August 2020

    de Lange c Keogh b Kerrigan 113 (Northamptonshire 332 v Glamorgan 259 and 261)

Finally Marchant de Lange swings once too often as he flails Simon Kerrigan to backward point.

But what an innings this has been.

A career-best 113 in 78 balls with six fours and nine sixes!

He's hauled Glamorgan from the cusp of an innings defeat to a lead of 188.

19 overs remain tonight - is there enough time left in the game for Northamptonshire to chase the target?

  9. 18:00 restart at The Ovalpublished at 17:44 British Summer Time 24 August 2020

    Surrey 278 v Kent 342 and 118-9

Skies have cleared again in SE11 and they'll return for 10.1 overs.

    Kent lead by 182.

The umpires took a look at 17:30 BST and shook their heads. That's it for day three at Arundel, and looking at Tuesday's forecast, that could well be it for the match.

  12. Postpublished at 17:37 British Summer Time 24 August 2020

    Worcs 410-7 v Warwickshire 355-9d and 45-0

A very confident start for Warwickshire at New Road and they've almost wiped out the first-innings deficit of 55.

Doesn't appear to be much in the wicket and with the weather around tomorrow, a result is looking unlikely.

Which is why getting to 400 was very important for Worcestershire, they're on course for a maximum points draw which could keep them top of the Central Group.

Two historic Test grounds are having rather mixed fortunes on the weather front at the moment.

Rain stops play at Tauntonpublished at 17:31 British Summer Time 24 August 2020

    Somerset v Gloucestershire 61-6 (Target 385)

This is why the Glosters have got to battle away.

There's a good chance the weather can do them a huge favour.

    More frustration for Somerset.

  15. Postpublished at 17:25 British Summer Time 24 August 2020

    Somerset v Gloucestershire 61-6 (Target 385)

Gloucestershire have at least managed to get through a few overs in succession.

Still 19 remain in the day but there's a huge incentive to survive with the weather forecast tomorrow.

Can Somerset find four more wickets tonight?

  16. Postpublished at 17:24 British Summer Time 24 August 2020

    Yorkshire 260 v Lancashire 134-3

    Dane VilasImage source, Rex Features

Captain Dane Vilas and Rob Jones have calmed things down for Lancashire after those couple of quick wickets fell after tea, although Jones isn't looking particularly comfortable at the crease.

It's still beautiful sunshine at Headingley. 21 overs remain this evening, and they should get them all in.

  17. wicket

WICKETpublished at 17:21 British Summer Time 24 August 2020

    Douthwaite st Vasconcelos b Kerrigan 86 (Northamptonshire 332 v Glamorgan 259 and 228-9)

Part of the madness comes to an end.

Dan Douthwaite started this ridiculous comeback and he was moving towards his own wild century.

But he's ran down the wicket at Simon Kerrigan, missed a turning ball and been stumped.

It ends a record ninth-wicket stand for Glamorgan against Northamptonshire of 168 in just 118 balls.

  18. wicket

Will this spark Durham into life?

    Well.

This has taken merry lower-order hitting to a whole new level.

Marchant de Lange has slammed a 62-ball hundred, the first of his career.

Six fours and eight sixes in a miraculous blitz that has saved Glamorgan from a huge defeat.

Crazy to think they were 28-6 just over an hour ago!

It's the fastest century for Glamorgan in first-class cricket.

    Durham 337-9 dec v Derbyshire 217-1

The milestones keep on coming at Chester-le-Street.

Derbyshire opener Luis Reece brings up his century off 217 balls.

The North Group leaders will probably run out of time to force a win, but they'll take a draw with plenty of bonus points I'm sure.
