    Lancashire get their man!

Adam Lyth tries to smack a wide one from Tom Bailey but gets an edge through to Keaton Jennings at slip.

The Yorkshire opener goes for a brilliant 103.

  2. 100 runs

for Daryl Mitchellpublished at 11:58 British Summer Time 24 August 2020

    Worcs 195-1 v Warwickshire 355-9d

It was a lean year for Darryl Mitchell in 2019, a key reason why Worcestershire struggled.

But he's back to his reliable best this year.

Runs at Bristol and at New Road against Glamorgan and now the THIRTY-SEVENTH hundred of his wonderful career.

He back-cuts Craig Miles to third man and reaches his hundred in 223 balls with 12 fours.

  3. Murtagh gets fivepublished at 11:57 British Summer Time 24 August 2020

Tim Murtagh has just picked up his fifth wicket for Middlesex, Tom Haines nicking the Irishman behind to leave him with figures of 5-34. Ollie Robinson has also fallen to Martin Andersson, so Sussex are 74-7 and 164 in front.

Notts have lost Ben Duckett for 37 - Leicestershire's Ben Mike picking up his second wicket of the morning - but they're still in control on 258-4 with a lead of 36.

Northants are building a good lead against Glamorgan - they're 311-6 and 52 in front.

Derbyshire are off to a steady start against Durham - 33-0 in reply to Durham's 337.

Hampshire finally get rid of the Essex nightwatchman.

Jamie Porter is pinned lbw by Ryan Stevenson and goes for eight off 54 balls.

    Hants v Essex 165-2

It's been slow going for Essex this morning. Just 19 runs added and nightwatchman Jamie Porter has blocked his way to eight off 49 balls.

I guess the key for the South Group leaders will be to earn as many batting bonus points as they can and walk away with the draw which should be enough to put them in the final.

Tuesday's forecast in Arundel is absolutely horrendous!

    Yorkshire 210-6 v Lancashire

I'll be honest, I'd never heard of George Hill until he made his debut for Yorkshire last week - but the 19-year-old is looking in terrific touch this morning at Headingley.

He pulls Danny Lamb to the rope, his sixth boundary, to move to 27 and his stand with Adam Lyth is approaching fifty.

  8. 100 runs

for Ben Foakespublished at 11:36 British Summer Time 24 August 2020

    Surrey 256-8 v Kent 342

    Ben FoakesImage source, Getty Images

Ben Foakes hasn't taken long this morning and goes to his first first-class hundred in England since 2017.

169 balls and he reaches three-figures with his 16th boundary - a sweet cover drive against Darren Stevens.

A 10th first-class hundred for Foakes and an invaluable innings to rescue Surrey here.

  9. wicket

WICKETpublished at 11:32 British Summer Time 24 August 2020

    Libby c Bresnan b Hannon-Dalby 84 (Worcs 177-1 v Warwickshire 355-9d)

    What a catch!

Only Tim Bresnan in at slip but you only need one when the bloke can grab um like this.

Diving one-handed to his right he's plucked out a thick edge from Jake Libby.

It was hard toil for Warwickshire yesterday but they have the breakthrough and Libby misses out on a second hundred for his new county.

  10. 100 runs

for Lythpublished at 11:28 British Summer Time 24 August 2020

    Yorkshire 200-6 v Lancashire

    Adam LythImage source, Rex Features

A brilliant century from the Yorkshire opener...

Adam Lyth hits Danny Lamb for back-to-back boundaries to bring up his 24th first-class hundred.

It took 218 balls and included 15 fours and two sixes.

Yorkshire also go past 200 and earn a first batting bonus point.

    Finch lbw Podmore 10 (Surrey 245-8 v Kent 342)

Despite Surrey's revival yesterday, Kent still have hope of a decent first-innings lead and they have an early breakthrough.

Harry Podmore, and his bleached hair, has struck.

Just a full straight ball that Adam Finch has played all around and is palpably lbw.

Also in the South Group Sussex have just lost Delray Rawlins for 33 - they're 59-5 against Middlesex, leading by 148.

    Surrey 245-7 v Kent 342

The door back into the England Test team may have closed for Ben Foakes for the time being with Jos Buttler's growing form.

But he's given a timely reminder of his ability with the bat - and saving Surrey from another disaster.

Quickly into the 90s this morning.

    Durham 337-9 v Derbyshire 4-0

Up at Chester-le-Street Durham declared on their overnight 337-9 and so Derbyshire openers Luis Reece and Billy Godleman are now in the middle.

It's unlikely North Group leaders Derbyshire can win from here, but can they at least take home plenty of points with a draw? They'll need to bat well.

    Hants v Essex 146-2

Another game badly affected by the rain is at Arundel. Day one was washed out and when they did get some play in on Sunday, South Group leaders Essex were in control with the bat.

Hampshire picked up the wickets of Paul Walter and Tom Westley, but Alastair Cook is still there on 75 and looking in good touch.

    Yorkshire 178-6 v Lancashire

After two days of rain interruptions it's a gorgeous morning at Headingley.

Lancashire picked up Yorkshire wickets at regular intervals yesterday, but the one man they couldn't remove was Adam Lyth.

The former England opener resumes on 86 with 19-year-old George Hill at the other end.

    Leics 222 v Notts 221-3

This is one of the matches where both sides chances of making the final seem remote.

But it's a fine start for Leicestershire as Ben Mike removes Notts batsman Joe Clarke in the first over.

It's a strange shot from Clarke, poking at a short one, cross batted and the ball flies in the air to mid off.

    Somerset v Glos 14-3 (target 385)

It's been a mightily wet morning in the West Country and so they're going to have a delayed start at Taunton while they mop up the outfield.

Surely the weather can't deny Somerset victory for a second week in a row? Mercifully the sun is shining at the moment at the County Ground.
