That would have been very close with a direct hit. That was good work from Carse, after getting through a strong and quick action, to turn around, pick up and shy takes some doing.
Fakhar Zaman takes on a quick single. Carse fields off his own bowling, turns and takes a shy at the stumps. Had he hit, it would have been close but I reckon Fakhar may have been JUST home.
Saqib Mahmood is given a breather as Brydon Carse comes into the attack.
The explosive Fakhar Zaman powerfully cuts it through the off side but straight to cover. He's now scored just 8 from 38 balls.
Carse, bowling up the hill, squares up Fakhar as a leading edge sends the ball trickling into the off side.

Target 248
Having bowled nine consecutive dot balls, Craig Overton concedes a single into the leg side.
But that's all for the over.

Jack Harrison: Why Tom Curran is in the main squad and Saqib Mahmood isn’t is a total mystery to me.
That's nice from Saud Shakeel as he stays on the back foot, rotates his bat and glances it down to fine leg for another four.

I like that England are continuing to be attacking with their fielding settings. When do you see that in one-day cricket? It's a joy to watch.
Mahmood continues for what is probably his final over of this spell.
Shakeel plays an uppercut to deep square leg for two, before a deflection off the hips goes down to the fine leg boundary for four leg byes.

With Mahmood bowling this well and Woakes' success a couple of weeks ago, would England's best XI have these two as the opening bowlers? I'd suggest yes.... and Archer/Wood could bowl their variations through the middle overs and the death with Rashid as the spinner? Would weaken the batting line up with Woakes at 7 and Archer at 8...but imagine how good that bowling line up would be!
Sam, Essex (wishing you could have 12 players in your team)
There's a bloke in the crowd who has nodded off. It baffles me how people can sleep in such noise. A drip outside my window kept me up for most of last night.
Craig Overton offers no freebies to Pakistan and bowls a maiden.

Saqib Mahmood took 3-26 in the powerplay in Cardiff and 2-11 today.
A change in bowling as Somerset's Craig Overton replaces Lewis Gregory.
Overton is right on the money as starts off with three dot balls.

The performances he's putting in might just be etching Saqib Mahmood in for later down the line.
Olly Stone is injured, Jofra Archer is still in recovery and there is a lot bowling for Mark Wood to do. You've got to be looking for bowlings who could provide you options and be interesting, and I think he could be.
Saud Shakeel is the new man in and is twice beaten outside off.
Saqib Mahmood walks back to fine leg and gives a thumbs up to acknowledge a huge round of applause from the Lord's crowd.
That really was a fine delivery to dismiss Rizwan.

I've no idea how you get him in a full-strength team but Saqib Mahmood is very, very good.

Saqib Mahmood has been the standout again - he's bowled with control, pace, movement. He's kept Pakistan honest.
Rizwan c Simpson b Mahmood 5 (Pak 36-3)
Saqib Mahmood can do no wrong!
It's another terrific delivery from the England seamer, a good length ball which seams away and finds the edge of Mohammad Rizwan's bat.
John Simpson takes a simple catch behind the stumps and things could start getting really ugly for Pakistan here.
