It wasn't a great start for India's bowlers, with birthday boy Rory Burns and Haseeb Hameed adding to England's lead.
Let's have a quick recap of what's happened so far, then.
Thanks, Kal!
Well, we made end-of-session predictions before play started this morning and I'll admit I was way too optimistic on the runs front - I went for 226-3.
I promised Callum Matthews a shoutout on here for being closest, with his 197-3. Enjoy the success, Callum.
Much better from the tourists in that session but they've been really frustrated by the England batsmen.
That's me done. I'm off to dwell on what could have been had Tim chosen me as his best pal.
Here's Ffion Wynne to take you through lunch and the next session.

England are building a very strong platform. It hasn't been scintillating cricket, but it is probably exactly what England planned at the start of the day.

Joe Root has faced 12 balls and played six scoring shots.
Malan 27, Root 14
Mohammed Shami, in search of a third England wicket, is given the final over before lunch.
Joe Root waits for the ball, opens the face of the bat and guides the ball down to the third-man boundary for four.
Shami goes wider of the off stump and Root again just helps the ball past gully for another boundary!
And that, folks, is lunch. England lead by 104.

That is a beautiful bit of batting because it is a packed on-side field. It was a low-risk shot.
Siraj fields well at backward point to limit Malan to just a single, before Root takes two off Jadeja down to mid-wicket. Cue the 'Rooooooooooot' chant.
Malan adds another single to his name. England are working these ones and twos well.
We'll get one more over in before lunch.
As we've come to expect from an England crowd, every run from the skipper is cheered.
Rory Burns and Haseeb Hameed did their job. Now it's over to Dawid Malan and Joe Root.
Malan defends into the gully region and sets off for a single, Root says no but a misfield allows England to take the run. Hesitation from the pair but the single was always there to be taken.
Bumrah - not for the first time - bowls a yorker as Root gets his bat down in plenty of time.

The India body language looks better - they're starting to bounce around a bit more.

Rachel T: Joe striding to the crease with 159 runs already on the board. You love to see it.
Joe Root is off the mark from his first delivery. Jadeja bowls short and Root nudges into the off side and takes a single. Malan then takes one more to mid-on, before Root helps himself to a couple at square leg.
Very good running from England. Not the best fielding from India.

I've just been at the back of the Emerald Stand, making some notes, making it look like I'm doing some work. The ducks started waving and cheering in my direction. Surely me writing some nonsense hadn't caught their attention? I was about to give it the big 'un, then realised they were actually signalling to the group of superheroes in front of me. As you were.

That is Malan's fifth boundary of the day...

Jasprit Bumrah will not be happy with that!
Lead by 86
In comes Joe Root but it's Malan to face Bumrah. There's a shout for lbw or caught behind (not sure which) as the ball deflects off Malan's thigh and into Pant's hands. Kohli wisely opts not to review.
Now then, this is absolutely terrible from India! Malan pushes into the leg side and Siraj - inexplicably and wildly - throws the ball towards the striker's end and it goes through for four overthrows.
Bumrah is fuuuuuming.

Before that wicket, Hameed faced 28 dot balls, and had scored just three runs from 54 balls.
