Virat Kohli has taken the sunglasses off his India cap and wrapped them round his eyes. His team-mates might appreciate not getting the full glare from the India skipper, mind.
Jonny Bairstow has moved on to 31 off 40 balls, striking a delicious drive off Umesh Yadav through the covers moments ago.
Pope is unbeaten on 32 from 51 balls.

Dave: I always wondered why Buttler replaced Bairstow long term. Bairstow looks more comfortable with the gloves than without. And his form with the bat seemed to suffer as a specialist batter...

This is a Test played at T20 pace.
Back to the cricket... England have counter-attacked well here.
Virat Kohli is growing increasingly more frustrated. His body language is dramatically different than earlier this morning when everything was going India's way.
Shardul Thakur continues. Ollie Pope cashed in against him a little earlier.

That is the fifty partnership in just 9.1 overs.

BBC Sport at the Kia Oval
There were numerous incidents of pitch invaders during The Hundred - I was at one game where a man made it as far as the square, in touching distance of the players. Now, 'Jarvo' has made it on the field in three different Tests, this time actually colliding with Jonny Bairstow. I suppose you could criticise the security, but no-one should think it's OK to enter the field of play (unless it's for a genuine reason, such as an emgergency) during professional sport.

Arun: Can someone tell Jarvo he's not funny...

It was funny the first time...
Fortunately, Jonny Bairstow is unaffected by the nonsense from earlier and when he is brought on strike he slaps Umesh Yadav back down through mid-on for four.

How does he keep getting away with it and keep avoiding the fine?
There's a familiar invader on the pitch at The Oval and he barges into Jonny Bairstow, albeit seemingly accidentally, which delays matters a little. The security staff have dealt with him.
Virat Kohli is not best pleased. He whips Mohammed Siraj out the attack and brings back Umesh Yadav, who strikes Ollie Pope on the pad with the first ball of his new spell.
There's a stifled appeal, but the ball is drifting down leg.

India have let all of the pressure they built this morning dissipate.
Jonny Bairstow is up and running, but he almost drags Shardul Thakur on to his stumps with one that climbs a little on him.
Meanwhile, here's a boundary he struck earlier off Umesh Yadav.

India are having a shocker at the moment. They are offering up width and bowling short.
More runs for England with three consecutive boundaries off Mohammed Siraj.
Jonny Bairstow plays at the ball with soft hands and a guided edge goes through the vacant third man region for four.
Baristow then whips one, aerially, through mid-wicket which interests the fielder but goes to the boundary.
The England wicketkeeper caps the over off with a short wide one which he rifles past point to the fence.
A productive over for England as three more boundaries follow off Shardul Thakur.
Four leg byes, before Ollie Pope leans on one slightly on his pads and crisply strikes it through wide mid-on.
The final ball of the over and Pope picks up the length quickly and pulls it decisively through mid-wicket.
That has released the pressure valve on England.
Shardul Thakur continues after drinks.
Ollie Pope, sunblock smeared across his nose and cheeks, blocks two balls from Thakur and then on-drives crisply straight down the ground.
The ball whistles close to the stumps at the non-striker's end and then crossed the boundary for four.
Here's that Ollie Pope hook for four, albeit finding the boundary not quite where he intended.
