From knowing Pujara a bit from his time at Yorkshire, he's a bit like me and I wouldn't say that fielding is high up on his list of priorities.

It'll be an injury that ankle that if there's any prospect of him taking a bit of time off the field, he will take it.

There's a few around who used to be like that, Inzaman is one who comes to mind.

That wasn't really the optimism I was after, Sean. Moeen spins through another over but fails to create any danger.

Sean Bulpitt: Yes the pitch is good, but let's face it: this bowling is atrocious. Is there a plan?!

We need something to cheer England fans up. Anyone got some good news to share? I looked around a prospective new house this morning. If the owner could kindly offer a discount that would be nice.

India almost seem to be a better side when their backs are against the wall, people are writing them off.

It's almost as if Virat says: "OK, that's fine, let's go out and show them what we're about."

Ollie Robinson enters the fray but sees his first ball drift down the leg side. Rohit just tickles it fine to add four more runs to the total.

That Pujara uppercut send a steward scurrying from his folding chair. Rather than pick the ball up (for Covid reasons), he swung a left foot and kicked it somewhere in the direction of Rory Burns.

Remember Jofra Archer's hostile spell to Matthew Wade the last time England played a Test on this ground? How England could do with that now.

    Get well soon, Jof. Please.

Typical England. Drop six catches, one-paced attack, not ruthless with the bat.

Pujara is showing us a different side of his game.

He really has been nice and positive.

Cheteshwar Pujara has just upper cut Chris Woakes for four. I can safely say I have never seen him bat this positively.

We're at the stage where the TV cameras are zooming in to show Joe Root's stern facial expressions.

Overton is either frustrated or trying to get himself going - maybe even both - as he shapes to hurl the ball back at Pujara after picking up a defensive shot. The crowd gets excited by the agro. Overton follows it with a ball down the leg side.

One thing's for sure, Moeen's going to get a bowl a lot on this surface.

They're still a long way away from the second new ball.

It just feels that this England attack is very similar.

It's a concern when the ball's not moving around that much as a batter you can't used to it.

Everything's' almost the same pace. There isn't a go-to bowler to rough Pujara up.

After a good Headingley Test Craig Overton is bowling himself out of England's future plans. Pujara cuts a short, wide ball for four.

Jimmy Anderson tumbles in vain, unable to stop Rohit driving expertly to the boundary.
