Rohit's played with incredible discipline and self-control here.

There's been a couple of those extra cover drives where when he's played them, I've just wanted to shout out: "HIT IT!"

He's put that hook and pull shot away since some difficulties earlier in the series.

It's all gone very quiet for England. Inspiration is needed.

It's Rohit's third fifty in consecutive Test matches in this series and comfortably his slowest.

But he's never had a Test century outside of India.

    Rohit's a bit good, isn't he?

He waves his bat after reaching his fifty.

    Rohit 49, Pujara 21

Before he had been felled Pujara had been looking like Joe Root in England ODI blue - hurrying twos and chopping away bad balls. He may be slowed down now.

I think it's going to be a long day for the bowlers.

After a eight-minute break Pujara good to continue, albeit with a hefty load of tape around his left ankle.

He blocks out the final ball of the over comfortably enough.

There's so much strapping on his foot I'm not sure how he's going to get his shoe back on.

A huge gasp from the crowd when the replay of Pujara rolling his ankle was shown. We've all done it. We all know it's agony.

To answer Tuffers' question runners are no longer allowed in international cricket. The India team physio is wrapping a lot of tape around Pujara's ankle.

Pujara wasn't the quickest to start with. I don't think he'd win an OAP 100m race now.

What's the situation with runners again?

  12. ouch!

Oh that's really nasty. Pujara has gone over on his ankle when turning at the non-striker's end. There are groans around the ground and in the commentary box each time the replay is shown on the screen.

The physio is one twisting the troublesome area with Pujara wincing in pain.

Pujara is in some real distress there.

Trouble for India? Cheteshwar Pujara whacks Overton for four but when the TV pictures turn back to him he's down on the turn in a lot of pain.

That ball has nibbled. It started on middle and off and really jagged away. I think there was some bat on pad that got England a bit excited.

Ah Chris Woakes with an absolute beauty that beats Rohit's edge. Rohit, a man who looks like the big brother making up the numbers in an Under-12s game, is for once unsettled.

    Rohit 47, Pujara 16

Right on cue Pujara flicks a couple of his pads to take India's lead into double figures. Overton's pace is a smidge above 80mph. There's not a lot of swing either, despite cloudy skies.

What's slightly worrying is that Pujara has come out like some kind of train. Usually he grinds you into the dirt but he's come out and played some shots.

We're ready to go after lunch and for some reason Craig Overton is going to bowl. I'll have to bow to Joe Root's greater cricketing knowledge here.

I think we've said this before every session but this one really could decide the match.
