England might need some replacement bowlers for Old Trafford. Some of them look like they're running on empty here.
Hmm - who do we think? Mark Wood? Saqib Mahmood? Sam Curran? Anyone else knocking on the door?

This is difficult for England, the balance between attack and defence. How do you take wickets while at the same time knowing every run you concede is one more you have to chase? Pant and Thakur have batted very sensibly.

A quiet over from Moeen, but a bit of spin off the final ball finds Thakur's inside edge and sees the ball drop just short of Haseeb Hameed at short leg.

It has been a good start to the session so far for India.
Thakur looks to be in a similar mood to the first innings, and he lays back to lift Woakes high over point for the session's first boundary.
I had the turning circle and speed of an oil tanker, so I know what Michael means.

They're looking at a run out here...
Moeen Ali opens up after lunch with two short ones that Pant tucks into for a two and then a single

Harsh. But fair...
I hope those in the coffee queue didn't, A: say 'can I get a coffee?' (that's just wrong), and B: miss this wicket...

Check out the queue for this coffee stand. Shall I tell them it probably won't actually be life-changing?

Brian and I shared the same, very silly, sense of humour - innuendos and so-on. I worked with him for only three summers but he gave me the confidence to be the broadcaster I wanted to be.
