I'd prefer to be in England's shoes but Sri Lanka will fancy their chances if they can get Jos Buttler out in the next 10-15 runs. England, to be fair, have been good in these situations in the last few years.

All about Steve: Absolutely no need to panic - all is calm and I predict Leach to hit the winning runs following a last-wicket stand of 40 with Jimmy Anderson.

This innings will do Sibley so much good. I have been impressed with how he's grasped this chance.

You can tell Sibley has been in the nets in the last couple of days, working out a method which works for him.

Oh! Dom Sibley underedges the ball just past the stumps and nutmegs Dickwella. Ramesh Mendis gives chase, can't stop it from reaching the boundary and then ends up leaping over the advertising boards as he can't stop his momentum.

A short delivery is clattered by Sibley and it takes a superb dive from Dilruwan Perera to stop it. Perera dived so wholeheartedly that he almost lost his trousers.

It's Buttler or bust for England in my view now.

    Need 70 to win

Just a casual 15 wickets have fallen today. Test cricket. It's never dull. Or at least, it's never dull when England are involved.

And Jos Buttler ensures it stays entertaining with a gorgeous drive through the covers for four to get himself off the mark.

Darren Cox: I'm watching the cricket like I used to watch Doctor Who - from behind a cushion.

Stan Harper: Hate to say it but England needed Root out. Seeing this home or not, the rest of the line up need to soak up and battle against the pressure

Another strange one. It's a poor shot because there was a big gap between bat and pad, and he's driven it straight into his pad.

    Gone!

Still needing 75 runs to win, Dan Lawrence has gone for a big drive, miscued it, and edged the ball onto the bottom of his pad and up to Niroshan Dickwella, who did very well to react quickly and take the catch. Not a great shot, that - massive gap between bat and pad - and this ridiculous match marches on...

We're going upstairs for a caught behind off Dan Lawrence. Soft signal is out.

    Andy Zaltzman
    Test Match Special statistician

Joe Root scored 200 runs off 247 balls off the bowling of Lasith Embuldeniya.

It is only the fifth time a batsman has scored 200 runs off a specific bowler in a season, and only the second time they have done so without getting out to that bowler. The previous occasion was Rahul Dravid off Stuart MacGill in Australia in 2003-04.

Dan Lawrence works an easy single off his pads. Plenty of noise around the bat now. Sri Lanka's tails are well and truly up.
