    My days.

Dom Bess has a habit of burgling wickets with absolutely filthy deliveries and he almost does it again.

It is a quite frankly disgusting hip-height full toss, and Shubman Gill tries to clear the ropes, but doesn't quite connect cleanly. Dom Sibley, running around from mid-wicket, dives at full length and is only a few inches away from taking an absolute worldie in his left hand. It would have been incredible.

Virat Kohli is off the mark too.

  2. Ind 62-2published at 20.1 overs

    Target 420

Shubman Gill crunches Bess' first ball through mid-off.

    What a shot.

Double spin for England with Dom Bess replacing Jofra Archer.

Can Bess bowl a consistent line and length? That's his aim.

Kohli blocks his first three balls.

England will be delighted they've got him in in the opening 30 minutes of the day.

Virat Kohli is the new batsman.

Let's see what the India skipper is made of. It's not often this side are against the ropes.

    Pujara c Stokes b Leach 15 (Ind 58-2)

This is a MASSIVE wicket for England.

That is another absolute beauty from Jack Leach. It spins, it bounces, and as Cheteshwar Pujara looks to turn to the on side it catches the shoulder of the bat and loops to Ben Stokes at slip for a simple catch.

Pujara is often the glue that holds India together. England have got rid. Big moment.

    A maiden from Jofra Archer.

He's only conceded four runs from his three overs this morning.

    Beauty from Jack Leach!

It almost lands in the exact same spot as the wicket of Rohit Sharma, maybe a bit fuller, and it turns and spits off the pitch. So much so that it goes past Shubman Gill, and Jos Buttler, and away for four runs.

There are definite signs of encouragement from that end for England.

It doesn't feel like Jofra Archer has fully got going yet. This is his first Test since August, and his first game of cricket since a Twenty20 in South Africa in December so he must be tired. England are going to need him to dig deep though.

There have been no scares from the two overs of pace so far.

Hello! That's a good sign for England. One keeps down, at lower-shin height, and Shubman Gill has to jab his bat down to turn it into the on side. There are plenty of "oohs" from the England fielders. They are pretty quiet again this morning.

Better, more consistent over from Jack Leach.

Tidy start from Jofra Archer, testing Cheteshwar Pujara's defensive technique but the right-hander is equal to it. Is he the key wicket?

The fastest ball in that over was 84mph. Three of them were 81mph. England are going to want Archer to ramp it up.

  19. Postpublished at 04:04 Greenwich Mean Time 9 February 2021

Unsurprisingly, it is Jofra Archer from the other end.

Right, time for another unofficial vote. When we did this last night 62.6% of you were still backing England. How about now?

    Thumbs up for England.

    Thumbs down for draw/India.
