Earlier, after Jofra Archer's spell, I was going to say that the India quicks of Jasprit Bumrah and Ishant Sharma had probably outbowled Archer and James Anderson in this game. I need to retract that thought.

Anderson beats Rishabh Pant as the India wicketkeeper looks to defend on the front four.

James Anderson averages 9.90 this year!

He's bowled at Galle and Chennai - not Trent Bridge and Headingley.

Dave Hill: Bring Stokes on for leach while it’s reversing.

Rishabh Pant is trying to reverse sweep, out of the rough, on day five of a Test match when his side are in serious trouble.

Naive? Box office? I'll let you decide.

Rebecca Horner: Yes Jimmy! I love the noise of the cricket ball clattering into the wicket.

Rob Allen: Oh Jimmy Jimmy!! Simply put. The greatest seam bowler to have lived.

Antony Waterson: Can we freeze Jimmy and keep him for these type of moments? What a player.

  10. Ind 98-4published at 29 overs

Never mind Jimmy Anderson. I'm taking some credit for the Shubman Gill wicket - that was some curse from me saying he was having a net and then two balls later his off stump is six metres away from where it should be.

Rishabh Pant gets off the mark with a big booming drive for four.

England are now resounding favourites with the bookmakers. This has been their game to lose for most of the Test, it definitely is now.

I've just seen another replay of the Ajinkya Rahane wicket and the batsman catches the bottom of his pad with his bat as he looks to defend. That means he slightly loses his shape and enables the gap between bat and pad that James Anderson exploited.

Thomas Watts: This over from Jimmy Anderson is one for the ages. One to say you watched live.

Aadam: Oh Jimmy that should be illegal. One of the naughtiest overs you’ll ever see.

Charlie: Flintoff to Kallis, Flintoff to Ponting. Anderson to Gill and Rahane. Best pace bowler in history

Rishabh Pant blocks out his first delivery.

What an utterly magnificent over from James Anderson. That is right up there with Freddie Flintoff to Jacque Kallis and Ricky Ponting at Edgbaston.

    I have goosebumps. Just wow.

He's taken two wickets and been denied an lbw by the barest of margins.

Don't ever leave us, Jimmy. A once in a lifetime talent.

OH MY! One of the great overs in Test cricket.

This is so, so special from James Anderson.

Again there's a little bit of reverse swing, and it keeps a little bit low and sneaks through Ajinkya Rahane's defences and off stump is sent flying again.

    Wow. Wow. Wow.

Oh! It's umpire's call on impact.

I reckon James Anderson knew that and that's why he was pleading.
