Chris Wilson: Dom Bess takes wickets, let's not 'England' him and destroy his confidence. Stick with him.

Chris Painter: Can we give an assist to Jofra Archer there? The fast bowler hurls himself at the ball to save a boundary. Four becomes three and the left hander's on strike for Bess to target. He could have let it go, but he put the commitment in and Bess got the reward.

    Target 420

Ravichandran Ashwin has almost just charged past one from Dom Bess.

His side are 121-6 and need to bat for another 67 overs to save this Test. I'm not sure that's a wise option.

England did win the toss and have been superb, but India have been pretty woeful.

They were ill disciplined in the field - they bowled far too many no-balls, their catching and ground fielding were below par.

With the bat they haven't shown the application or desire that you need. Dom Sibley gets criticised at times, but he ground the Indian bowlers down on day one and nobody has done that for the home side.

Right, let's see who the pessimists are.

Thumbs up for England to win.

Thumbs down for a draw/India win.

Good platform set for Ishant Sharma to knock these runs off.

    Target 420

Ravichandran Ashwin is the new batsman.

Dom Bess just finds a way to take wickets doesn't he? I think he and a lot of us would probably describe his winter performances as a six or seven out of 10 but he's taken 17 wickets in less than three matches now.

Got him! Superb catch from Jos Buttler.

Dom Bess lands one in the right place, and it spins and takes a reasonably healthy nick off Washington Sundar's outside edge and Buttler takes a good sharp catch.

India need to dig very, very deep.

England are convinced that they've got Washington Sundar caught behind here.

They were celebrating, never mind appealing.

    Sundar looks guilty.

  12. Ind 114-5published at 33.1 overs

    Target 420

Dom Bess replaces Jack Leach and his first ball is a full toss that Virat Kohli sends to the cover fence.

India may lose this Test, but they want to damage Bess' confidence along the way. A four-Test series is a long slog. They can still land psychological blows.

Washington Sundar is the new batsman.

He is another 21-year-old. He's now got to try and save the Test match alongside his captain.

Talking of Virat Kohli, he turned his back on Rishabh Pant as the wicketkeeper walked off. He just didn't want to look at him.

    James Anderson has a third!

It's not a great shot from Rishabh Pant to be honest. He comes down the track a bit, and skews a drive straight to Joe Root at short cover. Soft.

England are on a serious roll. They are undoubtedly on top.

Jack Leach has done a very good job for England and Joe Root this morning.

He's bowled unchanged from one end, looked dangerous, and taken 1-35 in 10 overs.
