Jack Leach earns a pat on the back from Amar Virdi as he makes his way off for lunch.

Leach bowled well and picked up the key wicket of Cheteshwar Pujara in that session.

Nick White: Only one word for Archer when he’s bowling like this: brutal.

Laurie M: Ruthless from archer. May not get the wicket but invaluable in shaking up the batsman and unsettling their rhythm.

    Target 420

Ravichandran Ashwin keeps out the final two balls of the over.

What a session for England though. They have taken five wickets, for 105 runs, and are in complete control of this Test match.

These delays mean this over will be the last before lunch.

  6. Ind 144-6published at 38.4 overs

    Target 420

Jofra Archer hits Ravichandran Ashwin on the helmet this time! Smack bang on the badge.

This is seriously hostile bowling from Archer. It's not extremely quick - the fastest ball in the over has been 84mph - but it is so accurate.

Virat Kohli is having to show Ravichandran Ashwin how to wear the arm guard properly...

  8. Ind 140-6published at 38.3 overs

    Target 420

Jofra Archer has hit Ravichandran Ashwin on the hand/wrist again.

Out comes the physio again. Ashwin calls for an arm guard too.

Is Virat Kohli wondering if he can buy Joe Root now and pay later?

    Target 420

Dom Bess does land the last three deliveries of the over, but the final ball is a half-tracker but Ravichandran Ashwin picks out the fielder on the boundary.

The Indian TV commentary has just described that over as "interesting". One way of looking at it.

And again! Whipped through mid-wicket by Virat Kohli this time.

Spin bowling coach Jeetan Patel is rubbing his eyes in the changing room.

Joe Root walks over to Dom Bess for a chat.

Shane O'Neill: Jimmy Anderson is the epitome of genius for me. At 38, he is at the very top of his game and still the best at what he does. Has to be considered one of the greatest athletes of all time.

    Target 420

Ravichandran Ashwin is ok to continue, and he does well to sway out the way of another good bouncer from Jofra Archer.

Joe Root gives Jofra a pat on the back after the over. That was much more hostile and dangerous than Archer's initial spell this morning.

    Ten minutes till lunch.

  19. Ind 126-6published at 36.4 overs

    Target 420

    An absolute snorter from Jofra!

We know the line of his bouncers is lethal, and he gets that sharp rise that is so dangerous, and he raps Ravichandran Ashwin on the bottom hand as the India spinner looks to take it off the bat and get out of the way.

He didn't play that well at all.

    The physio is on.

Can Archer get another wicket before lunch at 06:00 GMT.
