Leach has the number 77 on his back. I'm always curious as to how players choose their number. Bright, burning sunshine in Chennai. The crowd is becalmed, almost tense. Extra bounce from Leach has Rahane on his toes. This pitch is going to be a snakepit if we make it to Tuesday.

Matthew L Williams: In a game for Alrewas CC against a fierce rival, the oppo’s gun bat left his first ball which jagged back onto the bails. Remember him smiling back at us thinking it was a great leave whilst we pointed out the bails on the floor. He had to drag himself off.

We'll probably get a few mentions of Stuart Broad at Trent Bridge. To clear a few things up, he didn't edge it to slip, rather the keeper, whose drop ended at slip. That keeper was Brad Haddin, who didn't walk when he nicked one for what turned out to be the final wicket of the match.

Peter Jackson Eastwood: Refused to walk after a massive snick off an opposition spinner I strongly dislike. Was given loads of grief from the bowler, only to then be given out stumped after the umpires conferred. Said opposition spinner then gloved behind when batting. Did he walk? Nope.

Superb. Every day is a school day. The Anna Pavilion End sounds lovely, doesn't it? Like something out of an Enid Blyton book. Leach didn't start well this morning, but is bowling beautifully now. He's landing it on a bar towel.

Do let me know your experiences of 'refusing to walk'. It can be any sort of cricket, from backyard to first team. Before this series, in a column about his brother, Billy Root said he threw a bat at Joe over a disputed lbw decision.

It doesn't even have to be cricket - could be any sport, or real life. Have you ever refused to leave somewhere?

The last person that stood like Kohli after being clean bowled was WG Grace. It was an extraordinary performance.

    Rohit 82, Rahane 7

Leach twice asks the question against Rohit. Neither have much going for them, much like the review that was burned in the first session. Rohit, batting with the freedom of a streaker, chips over extra cover for two more.

My son has just wandered in and asked me to turn the cricket off. Must be a Kohli fan. Rahane punches a couple through the covers. Quiet in the half-full Chennai stands.

If England were offered bowling India out for 250, they would snap your hand off.

250 looks like a good score at he moment - and the pitch is not going to get any better.

Olly Stone, superb in the morning session, from the Anna Pavilion End.

I'm yet to learn who Anna is.

This pitch is like a digestive biscuit. The length balls are behaving OK - it's the fuller balls which have really spun.

Rohit Sharma played a different game to the rest in the morning session. England greet him with a slip and a short leg for Jack Leach's first over after the break. Ball hung outside off stump. "Yes, Nut," says Ben Foakes. Maiden.

On refusing to walk, I once played in a club game against a young Alex Hales, who had been given permission by Notts to get a Saturday game in.

He edged it to gully, shin-high, but claimed it didn't carry and got away with it.

A few years later, when he was an England player, one of our lads saw him and reminded him. Hales recorded a video apologising to us.

Anyway, the players are back out...

I can't decide what my favourite part of the Kohli reaction to being bowled by Moeen is.

On balance, I think it's the look towards the celebrating England players with a face of "why on earth are they doing that?"
