Play and miss from Rohit. He's batted beautifully, but now he can sniff the ton he's a nervous wreck. Mrs Rohit, in the stands, is also having an awful time.

Rich Todd: This week had a snow cricket match with my son in garden. Turning a mile in the inclement conditions, he bowled an absolute beauty to which I chipped into his gleeful hands, but I declared a dubious no ball - he overstepped the imaginary line we had made in the snow.

Rohit clips Moeen's final ball to long-on for a single. He'll keep the strike on 98.

Rohit has achieved so much in the one-day game. Even in the Test game he doesn't back down - and this is how he's going to play for the next couple of years. With Shubman Gill, it's really exciting for India.

Ooohhh! What's Rohit doing? Pre-meditated sweep at Moeen, off the toe, looping just short of mid-wicket. Nervous 90s.

Eduardo: School game. Nicked off down the leg side to the keeper. Entire team has gone up as I'd obviously hit it. The umpire's response? "Lads, if he had hit he would have walked off." Stand firm.

Broad is going through his tricks. A cutter, then a hint of reverse, then more of the tail back in to the right-handed Rahane. In the England dressing room, Chris Silverwood is sitting behind some shades. He has the prime seat next to the fan. His head nods slightly. Surely not drifting off?

He has got beautiful timing and he looks to get after the bowlers. He has been head and shoulders above everyone else.

Rohit has looked extremely fluent. He has been murderous on any errors on length and played some glorious shots.

Stick your name on texts, otherwise we're running the risk of libelling all the Uncle Craigs out there. Stuart Broad is back.

I was once told the story of when my brother-in-law was a young boy playing cricket with some friends in the park or someone's garden. He was batting & adjudged to be out but he disagreed & refused to surrender the bat - they refused to bowl any more to him. Eventually he resolved the stalemate by picking up his stumps, his bat & his ball and went home. Good morning Uncle Craig if you're up this morning.

Quite often, the ball is causing an explosion in the surface when it lands, as if England are bowling grenades. Rohit, though, isn't fussed. A dance at Moeen for a glorious maximum. The crowd chant his name. He's on 97...

Paul Barrow: If Virat Kohli doesn't come back out at the fall of the next wicket I think we will all be astonished.

Both of these batsman are happy to play against the spin. Rohit using his feet to Leach, Rahane going deep in the crease. Is the softer ball making batting that touch easier? In the India dressing room, Virat Kohli is finally out of his whites and holding court. "I'm telling you, no one could have played that."

There are at least three computers set up at the front of the England dressing room. They say they are for analysis and things like that, but I reckon they're playing Football Manager. India are rebuilding steadily here.

This is the 14th over of Jack Leach's spell. He's been unchanged since replacing Stuart Broad in the ninth over of the day. Book him in for bed and breakfast, especially when he's ripping it past Rahane's grope in the dark. Ravindra Jadeja would have been a handful on this.

Moeen Ali, playing his first Test since the 2019 Ashes, returns. If England had their time again, would they have opted for a third spinner on this pitch? Rohit greets Moeen with a powerful sweep to the square leg fence. Not the first time we've seen that today.
