I don't think England bowled that well on that first day. When you bowl first and the pitch does a bit, it sometimes shocks you a little bit.

In the first innings it was hard for England but it wasn't too unplayable. It was only until Ben Foakes came out, it showed that you can play on this wicket.

England scored 101 runs today and lost their seven wickets. They tried to be proactive but it was always a losing cause.

Joe Root dug in for 33 from 92 balls but there wasn't much else until Moeen Ali smashed 43 from 18 at the end.

Axar Patel finished with 5-60 on debut.

Rachel T: Things to be grateful for - it will only be 1-1, Ben Foakes, Moeen and Jimmy will return with a pink ball in his hand. Cracking!

DavidCarver: Congratulations India. England, you must include Moeen Ali in the next Test.

India played well, especially coming into the game under pressure. They were blown out of the park in the first Test but it's a good fightback and it sets up the series beautifully.

Ravichandran Ashwin has a stump in his hand after a fine, fine performance. Eight wickets and a century.

India have been brilliant in this match.

Moeen was released by Kohli's Royal Challengers Bangalore after the last IPL. This is him proving his point.

I think Moeen is putting in a bid for the IPL auction.

India need one wicket to win

The fastest fifty in Tests is 21 balls. Moeen has 39 from 16. It is well and truly on.

The pitch has played its part but England haven't played well enough. To have one partnership of 35 is just not good enough.

Time to start Googling fastest fifties in Test cricket. Moeen moves to 38 with his fifth six.

I want some of what Moeen Ali had for lunch. This one goes a mile into the air but drops just short of the boundary. Only four.

At least England improved on their first-innings score, whereas India didn't. Momentum surely with us going into the next match.

Stuart Broad has turned down a single at the end of the over. He could have had the strike. What's happened to him?!

There's an almighty roar going around the ground. That can only may one thing. Local hero Ravichandran Ashwin has been tossed the ball.
