Root is already waiting for the replay of his dismissal on the telly in the dugout to see whether he could have done anything different. The answer is no.

Axar could have switched to a red bouncy ball to deliver that ball for all we know. Incredible bounce for a spinner.

Olly Stone is England's number 10 with only Stuart Broad to come.

Start the car! Joe Root's battles ends with an unplayable delivery from Axar Patel. Root comes forward, expecting the ball to bounce shin high. Instead, it leaps out of the surface and takes the glove.

Root just stands and stares at the pitch, half smiling. The end is in sight.

It doesn't really matter who's in the Pancake XI. It's all about who wins the toss.

India need three wickets to win

Moeen Ali has three balls of Kuldeep's over which started before lunch to survive. The first two balls are easily navigated but the third takes the edge and loops over gully.

    Bounce. Too much bounce.

The man who was supposedly more of a batsman than a wicketkeeper has been sensational with the gloves. The highlight of the morning was this stumping to remove Dan Lawrence, who was nutmegged as he charged at Ravichandran Ashwin.

Marco: England's batsmen are very tentative in their movement. The Indians play spin because they are more pro-active. They come down the wicket, they stay on the back foot, they mess with the bowlers' lengths. England's batsmen are so static, allowing the bowlers to dictate.
