It was a terrific ball again. Siraj generates some excellent pace off the pitch.

Stokes the only batsman to pass 50 as England bowled out for 205

Bairstow lbw b Siraj 28 (Eng 78-4)
Jonny Bairstow is fuming.
The review shows the ball is just clipping the top of the stumps, but Bairstow will be wondering how the on-field can give one that is so marginal.
It's a lovely delivery from Mohammed Siraj. Pace, inswing. Bairstow trapped on the crease.
Danger now.
Eng 78-4
Siraj the bowler.
No bat.
Too high for leg before?
Eng 78-4
Jonny Bairstow can't believe this.
Has he been given out leg before or caught behind?

Joe Root gave the umpires a real big-up in his media conference yesterday. He was at pains to say what a terrific job the umpires in the middle have done. The on-field umpires have done a brilliant job.
Eng 78-3
Yep. Not even umpire's call.
Two reviews gone for the hosts.
Eng 78-3
Pad first, but this is surely outside the line?
Eng 78-3
Oooffft. With one second left.
This shows how much India want a wicket, and the value of Ben Stokes.
Very marginal.

England need to bat this session out without losing a wicket, if we have any chance of winning the game!

I'm chucking Mohammed Siraj into the Handsome XI. Wonderfully manicured beard, Peaky Blinders haircut, shoulders like he's forgotten to remove the coat hanger. He's got a blue towel poking from the back of his trousers, swinging the ball away from Stokes, who is getting a big stride in.

Yesterday, Joe Root said England would be busy between the wickets and running hard for singles etc. It's not been the case so far - it's been a lot of blocking.
So, so many empty seats in Ahmedabad. The world's biggest cricket stadium has barely anyone inside it. Is it the time of day? India not batting? The locals not expecting a contest?

This could be a lively afternoon session if Ben Stokes hangs around.
The players have returned into the Ahmedabad heat. Ashwin has he ball. Ben Stokes is scraping at his guard.

I'll be honest, I quite liked this England team before a ball was bowled.
Now I've seen how the pitch has behaved, you wonder if the fast bowlers will have a bigger role to play.
England need to bat long enough to make sure their spin-heavy attack is the right call.

One of the spinners England are relying on they have dropped for two games. You wonder if they have a negative frame of mind, so have picked a defensive team. The ball has gone through for the fast bowlers and not one has turned.

England needed another fast bowler on this pitch. I think they have misread it.
