Anderson is round the wicket to the left-handed Pant, whose edge perfectly bisects second slip and gully, skipping away for four to third man. We want Pant v Leach, don't we?

Dom Bess is bowling way too slowly. He's down in the low 80s (kph) whereas the successful spinners in this series have bowled closer to 90kph.

In fact, if you've had any sort of bit-part in a film or a TV show, let me know. I'm fairly certain Derek Pringle was in Chariots of Fire. I've always fancied getting some work as a TV extra. How hard can it be?

Bess, as Bess does, serves up a full toss that the becalmed Rohit pounces on, driving through the covers for four.

Tim Griffiths: A couple more quick wickets here and India’s spot at the World Test Championship final starts to slip away.

On The Cricket Social, Aggers is talking about a game in Wellington, where England's women have played New Zealand today.

On that day, Peter Jackson rocked up during the interval and asked the crowd to record some roars that he later used in the Lord of the Rings films.

If you were there, let me know. You should get a credit as an extra.

I wonder if England held back Dom Bess for the left-handers.

Ooohhh, that's a bad un from Bess. Dragged down, missed by everyone and away for four byes. That's been Bess' issue, one bad ball an over.

I don't know if England delaying bringing on Dom Bess this morning will have dented his confidence. India will target Bess - Rohit and Pant will take their chances and if they come off, Bess will be under more pressure.

The game is poised really nicely and a lot depends on this partnership now. Rishabh Pant is going to take his chances and if he comes off, it's great for India, but if not, his team are in trouble. If India are bowled out for less than 200, this will be a great game of cricket.

    Left alone. Pant survives.

It's 38 degrees - how long can Anderson and Stokes go on for? That does put England in a situation later this afternoon.

The players are back out after their big lunch. Rishabh Pant is the new batsman. Strap in.

He'll have one delivery from Jimmy Anderson to face.

When someone like Rohit Sharma digs in the way that he is, you can be safe to think the pitch will get more treacherous as the game goes on.

  18. Philippe overturns lbw decisionpublished at 06:29 Greenwich Mean Time 5 March 2021

In the fourth Twenty20 between New Zealand and Australia in Wellington the Aussies have reached 38-1 at the end of the six-over powerplay.

Matthew Wade was caught at short third man off Mitchell Santner, while Josh Philippe has successfully overturned an lbw decision off Tim Southee.

There's been a bit of spin for Santner and there's plenty of pace and a little seam movement for the quick bowlers.
