    A wicket for Dom Bess!

He's got Sundar lbw, but the batsman sends it straight upstairs...

  2. Ind 294-7published at 92.5 overs

So close to a wicket for Dom Bess as Washington Sundar makes a mess of a slog through the covers, but the ball bobbles just over a chasing James Anderson's head.

When the pitch starts to turn and bounce a bit I don't think the England batsman can see an innings like that in themselves. They sort of go 'how am I going to get to 100?' - they can't see how they are going to get to that stage.

This young England side must learn from this.

Things have just calmed down a little as we approach the end of the day. And what a day it's been.

The only place this India side haven't won is England. The batting line-up has the talent, but the last two times they've come over they have batted poorly and ended up in a similar situation to have England have done in their last two tours of India, in the fact it has got worse and worse as the tour has gone on.

If India come to England this summer and win, then you'd have to say they are the best Test team of this generation. But they always struggle when the ball hoops around in England, but they've got the talent and they've got the seam bowlers to cause victories regardless of where they play in the world.

A much-needed maiden for Dom Bess.

There is a good chance this game will finish tomorrow. India will have a 100-run lead, England will be under pressure against high-quality spinners and you need a lot of resolve to deal with that situation.

Virat Kohli looks much happier in the dressing room now than he did when he got out for an eight-ball duck earlier. Gosh, that feels like an age ago.

Leach spins four byes past Foakes before Axar Patel has a huge ol' heave-ho at the final ball of the over and picks up four.

Root went and gave Bess a pat on the shoulder after the over, and had quite a long chat with him as they went back to their fielding spots.

It's not nice. Not for Bess, not for Root, not for anyone. You don't want to see someone struggle.

The spotlight is too much on Dom Bess and England have put the spotlight on him too much by what they've done to him. He is too young, too inexperienced and he's not good enough at the moment to have this amount of spotlight on him. It is just not fair on the kid and England have brought it on with the management and the way they dealt with Moeen Ali.

Ugh, that's another full toss, and it's given the treatment by Washington Sundar. A firm drill back down the ground just evades Bess' outstretched hand before the ball clatters into the rope.

Sometimes you just have to say well played. That's one of those moments. Although India haven't been brilliant this series - they have had a number of brilliant individual performances. Summer will be interesting.

It is the management. If you're a young player and you have 17 wickets at 22 and you're then left out, and not even picked on a raging bunsen with a pink ball... I just think England have ruined his confidence.

I don't think England have ruined Dom Bess. India might have, though.
