Why has Jack Leach been so under utilised against left-handers today? Why is it that Joe Root and Dom Bess are bowling? Leach is the best England spinner.

A flamboyant drive from Washington Sundar this time, sending fielders scattering as he smacks the ball through the covers.

We've spoke a lot about Rishabh Pant but we can't take anything away from Washington Sundar. If he had got out, things could have been very different. He has played unbelievably well. He has been calm and shown composure and he has scored runs as well.

Axar Patel gets his first boundary with a short Joe Root delivery that he pulls off his hip with a sturdy thwack of the bat.

England need to get a psychoanalyst in a room with all the batsman tonight and say 'what has happened in the last three Tests has not happened'. Can you clear a memory?

  10. Ind 264-7published at 85 overs

Axar Patel is the new man at the crease and he's off the mark with a firm single off Anderson.

Meanwhile, Washington Sundar picks up where Rishabh left off with a lovely cover drive for four.

I don't even know what that shot is. It has just hit Joe Root at mid-wicket and thankfully he's a very good catcher.

What a knock, though. It was a match-changing innings and a series-winning one.

A truly remarkable innings comes to an end.

Rishabh Pant falls as he played; taking on the James Anderson short ball and slashing it furiously to Joe Root, who was waiting at short mid-wicket. A brilliant ton from the India wicketkeeper. Match-winning? Quite possibly.

India will lead by over 100 if they carry on playing like this until close at 11:30.

One of the biggest compliments I can pay Rishabh Pant is that he's so fun to watch. I think sometimes we forget how enjoyable cricket can be, with someone playing so freely, and playing sublime and then scarcely believable shots. I love it.

England were in the box seat after tea with one or two wickets and I think he'll love that knock, not just because of the way he's hit that there or the way he's hit Jimmy Anderson but I think he'll love it for his own personal maturity and the way he's gone about it.

Of COURSE he hits the first ball for six! Of course!

I'm really sorry if you were trying to do some work this morning, because Rishabh Pant has made it impossible. The calm start to the innings, seeing India out of trouble, then exploding this afternoon... so, so, so good.
