    Derbys v Notts 183-2

    Ben SlaterImage source, Rex Features

Back-to-back centuries for Notts opener Ben Slater!

The left-hander follows his match-saving ton against Worcestershire with another three figures against East Midlands rivals Derbyshire.

It's come in good time too, off 160 balls.

  2. Back under way at Headingleypublished at 14:53 British Summer Time 29 April 2021

    Yorks 67-2 v Northants

Finally back underway in Leeds after a couple of rain interruptions either side of lunch.

  3. Postpublished at 14:53 British Summer Time 29 April 2021

    Surrey 33-1 v Hants 92

    Hampshire needed that.

Kyle Abbott has got rid of Surrey opener Mark Stoneman, caught behind for seven.

It's halted Surrey's rapid start which has seen Rory Burns go to 25 off 23 balls.

Stuart Plant: If no.11 gets off the mark, could the Bears be up for a county championship record, the lowest first class score without any batsmen recording a duck?

It's certainly a strange looking scorecard, with three batsmen out for one. Warwickshire are 52-8, having been 30-8 at one stage.

  5. 50 runs

for Sam Evanspublished at 14:43 British Summer Time 29 April 2021

    Glos v Leics 119-1

Sam Evans fiftyImage source, Rex Features

A second half-century of the season for Sam Evans in his third match.

A flick to fine leg for four and then a big drive outside off stump edging perfectly between wicketkeeper James Bracey and first slip Kraigg Brathwaite.

Most fortunate but fifty in 126 balls.

  6. 50 runs

for Gubbinspublished at 14:39 British Summer Time 29 April 2021

    Somerset v Middlesex 134-3

Middlesex number three Nick Gubbins brings up his half-century at Taunton.

It comes after captain Peter Handscomb was run out for 17 thanks to a direct hit from sub fielder Roelof van der Merwe at mid-on.

  7. Lancashire bonuspublished at 14:36 British Summer Time 29 April 2021

    Lancs v Sussex 162-3

This is a shocker for Sussex and a huge bonus for Lancashire.

Stiaan van Zyl was going so well but he's chipped a drag-down from Liam Livingstone straight to backward point.

He's gone for 79 having played some really attractive strokes with his languid style.

  8. Postpublished at 14:35 British Summer Time 29 April 2021

    Durham v Warwickshire 50-8

That's the fifty up for the Bears and a little bit of relief from 30-8.

Craig Miles and Liam Norwell, both capable lower-order batsmen, need a rescue mission and then some for their side.

  9. rain stops play

Rain stops playpublished at 14:32 British Summer Time 29 April 2021

    Yorks 67-2 v Northants

That restart at Headingley never got going.

Rain has returned and the players are back to the tea urn.

  10. Postpublished at 14:30 British Summer Time 29 April 2021

    Surrey 17-0 v Hants 92

I said batting might get easier.

Rory Burns hits Mohammad Abbas for three leg-side boundaries in an over.

Confident start from the England left-hander.

  11. Postpublished at 14:27 British Summer Time 29 April 2021

    Surrey 5-0 v Hants 92

Rory Burns and Mark Stoneman have begun Surrey's first innings at The Oval.

Will we suddenly see batting become a bit easier? It can sometimes happen after a team gets skittled for less than 100 and their confidence is low.

  12. wicket

WICKETpublished at 14:26 British Summer Time 29 April 2021

    Crawley c Cooke b van der Gugten 33 (Glamorgan v Kent 120-6)

England's Zak Crawley was holding Kent together among their collapse but now he's gone too.

He's too late moving forward to drive, plays the shot off balance and edges behind.

A second wicket for the Flying Dutchman and Glamorgan are right on top there.

But rain has now arrived in Cardiff and off they go.

  13. 50 runs

for Cookpublished at 14:22 British Summer Time 29 April 2021

    Worcs v Essex 85-1

    Alastair CookImage source, Rex Features

    First-class half-century number 183 for Alastair Cook.

And he's setting an excellent platform for Essex, despite the recent loss of Nick Browne.

  14. 50 runs

for Marcus Harrispublished at 14:21 British Summer Time 29 April 2021

    Glos v Leics 96-1

Taking lunch on 49, Marcus Harris goes to a first fifty in county cricket soon after the break.

    104 balls and seven boundaries.

Another four, an uppercut over the slips cordon, has raised the Foxes' hundred.

  15. Postpublished at 14:20 British Summer Time 29 April 2021

    Durham v Warwickshire 31-8

Warwickshire have gone past their lowest first-class score of 16 against Kent in 1913.

But they're on course for their lowest total since 1979 when they were bowled out for 35 against Yorkshire.

I'm still scrolling to try and find their lowest total against Durham, but I got to 99 on the list and Durham hadn't appeared yet.

  16. 50 runs

for Clarkepublished at 14:16 British Summer Time 29 April 2021

    Derbys v Notts 143-2

Joe Clarke Ben SlaterImage source, Rex Features

In the midst of all this wicket drama, Nottinghamshire's Joe Clarke has gone to fifty.

Six fours and a couple of sixes in his 69-ball innings.

  17. Five-wicket haulpublished at 14:15 British Summer Time 29 April 2021

    Durham v Warwickshire 30-8

Right, I need to get the record books out now to look at Warwickshire's lowest scores.

Ben Raine gets his fifth of the innings, bowling Tim Bresnan for one.

The Durham paceman has 5-3 in seven overs. Incredible spell.

  18. wicket

Hampshire all out for 92published at 14:12 British Summer Time 29 April 2021

    Surrey v Hants 92

Jordan Clark finishes the Hampshire innings with two wickets in two balls to end with figures of 6-21.

Brad Wheal and Mohammad Abbas are both caught at slip.

What a capitulation with the bat by Group Two leaders Hampshire.

  19. Bears fall to 30-7published at 14:11 British Summer Time 29 April 2021

    Durham v Warwickshire 30-7

Mark Wood takes his third wicket and Warwickshire are in danger of being bowled out for less than 50.

Danny Briggs spoons the England paceman straight to Chris Rushworth at mid-on.

    30-7. Wow.

  20. Breakthrough at Hovepublished at 14:11 British Summer Time 29 April 2021

    Lancs v Sussex 139-2

Saqib Mahmood has struck for Lancashire after lunch.

He's got one across Tom Haines who, squared up, has nicked it behind and gone for a well-made 58.

Another good start for Haines without going on to a big score.
