It's his first first-class century against Essex and his first in the county championship since the end of 2019.
Notts now 165 ahead thanks to this superb knock.

Duanne Olivier bowls Marcus O'Riordan at Headingley as he chops on, but only after he's done plenty of damage with Miguel Cummins.
It ends a ninth-wicket stand of 60 with the West Indian who's still there on 28.
Nottinghamshire 253-7 v Essex 99
He's been very quiet so far by his usual standards in this match, but Simon Harmer finally takes a wicket for Essex.
Liam Patterson-White is well caught at short fine leg by a diving Ryan ten Doeschate for 22 after a useful partnership of 46 with Steven Mullaney (97 not out).
Leicestershire 420-6 v Surrey

Ben Mike (70 not out) has reached a half-century in quick time after a couple of boundaries off Amar Virdi.

It's been a brilliant knock from the 22-year-old left-hander, coming off 176 balls and including 10 fours.

Michael Burgess the last man to depart for 101 in Warwickshire's first innings against Worcestershire.
The Bears post 343 thanks to centuries from Burgess and Rob Yates.

It's come off 169 balls with nine fours and a six and he's had to get himself over the line while shepherding the tail a touch.

Miguel Cummins isn't known for his batting, with a first-class average of less than eight and a best of 29 not out.
But the West Indian has just biffed Steven Patterson for a couple of huge sixes.over mid-wicket followed by a four in front of square in an over that cost 17.
It looks like the second maximum went out of Headingley.
He's up to 25 in no time.

Kraigg Brathwaite has been happy to block this morning, but suddenly the West Indian comes to life with a flurry of boundaries.
He firstly flicks James Harris off his hip and then in the next over hits back-to-back fours off Martin Andersson - another clip off the hip followed by a cover drive.

Leicestershire keep on compiling a handsome first-innings score at Grace Road.
Harry Swindells has reached 50 off 68 balls with seven fours.
He and Ben Mike (35 not out) have added 72 for the seventh wicket so far.
Middlesex 210 v Gloucs 43-2
Middlesex have finally removed Gloucestershire nightwatchman Matt Taylor.
