An exhilarating third day comes to a close at Trent Bridge.

After Ben Duckett's brilliant unbeaten 177 for the hosts, Luke Fletcher then ripped through Worcestershire's top order with five wickets.

It means Notts will need 14 wickets on Sunday for an incredible victory.

A maiden over by Tim Murtagh ends play at the Kia Oval but it is Surrey who are calling the shots ahead of the final day's play.

They lead by 165 and have licence to play a few shots before setting Middlesex a target.

Mark Stoneman is 74 not out at stumps, with Rory Burns on 61, the pair having enjoyed the best conditions after 12 wickets fell earlier in the day.

Kemar Roach and Jordan Clark took four wickets each as Middlesex were bowled out in just 46.3 overs.

West Indies opener Kraigg Brathwaite safely negotiates the day's final over from Craig Overton, but Gloucestershire face the prospect of three testing sessions on Sunday against their West Country neighbours.

They will resume 284 in arrears after Tom Abell hit an unbeaten 132 for Somerset and their first order of business will be to avoid following on.

Rory Burns continues his remarkable consistency as a boundary off Tim Murtagh carries him to 50 off 70 balls.

He has made a half-century in every Surrey game this season bar one and their lead is now nearing 150.

The four was pulled away with consummate ease and England fans will be hoping to see some of that against New Zealand.
