  1. wicket

WICKETpublished at 16:42 British Summer Time 12 September 2021

    Bess b Norwell 1 (Yorkshire 64-5 v Warwickshire 155)

Incredible stuff as Liam Norwell backs up his bowling partner by crashing the ball into Dom Bess' stumps.

Yorkshire are 91 runs behind. I think Warwickshire could end up with a big first-innings lead if things continue.

    Feels funny even saying that.

  2. wicket

WICKETpublished at 16:40 British Summer Time 12 September 2021

    Barker c Patterson-White b Paterson 19 (Hampshire 188-8 v Notts)

Dane Paterson is back to relieve Brett Hutton and his second ball brings the South African his third wicket of the innings.

Keith Barker shapes to play to leg, but the ball flies off the inside edge and Liam Patterson-White takes the catch at cover.

    Hampshire 188-7 v Nottinghamshire

Keith Barker is beaten outside off stump by Brett Hutton, who then raps him on the pad, only for the umpire to turn down his lbw appeal as the batsmen take a leg bye. Just eight overs to go before Notts could take the new ball.

  4. 100 runs

for Ben Brownpublished at 16:33 British Summer Time 12 September 2021

    Leicestershire v Sussex 285-2

    Ben BrownImage source, Rex Features

Great knock by Ben Brown who collects two runs through the covers off spinner Callum Parkinson and reaches the 21st first-class century of his career off 165 balls.

Having lost the captaincy during the season, he is reinventing himself as a specialist number three for this game.

Brown's partnership with Oliver Carter, who has 36, is now worth 115.

  5. wicket

WICKETpublished at 16:26 British Summer Time 12 September 2021

    Brook lbw b Woakes 15 (Yorkshire 63-4 v Warwickshire 155)

Chris Woakes has a third. How Warwickshire needed that.

Harry Brook goes for 15, pinned leg before by the Englishman. And, once again, the Bears claw themselves back into this game.

  6. 50 runs

for Steven Croftpublished at 16:23 British Summer Time 12 September 2021

    Somerset v Lancashire 307-7

There it is, a quick single and Steven Croft has his half-century.

It comes off 77 balls with six fours. An important knock at the end of Lancashire's innings this.

Alastair Cook is now 114 not out at the Kia Oval against Surrey, with Essex 231-2. It's his fifth first-class hundred at the ground - he's only exceeded that number at two other cricketing locations.

Durham are 35-2 in the 13th over, replaying to 183 all out by Northamptonshire. Both wickets so far to Ben Sanderson.

Glamorgan are only four runs short of a batting point against Gloucestsrshire. They are 196-6 with Eddie Byrom 24 not out.

In Division Three, Ethan Bamber has just removed Ben Cox for a duck and Worcestershire are 48-6, still 96 behind Middlesex's first innings total.

Ben Brown is 92 not out for Sussex at Leicester and his stand with Oliver Carter (31*) is now worth 102, with their score 272-2.

Kent are 229-3 after 67 overs against Derbyshire, with Jack Leaning 56 not out and Sam Billings on 36. They have also added 102 so far.

  8. wicket

WICKETpublished at 16:16 British Summer Time 12 September 2021

    Fuller b Hutton 13 (Hampshire 183-7 v Notts)

James Fuller drives Brett Hutton stylishly past mid-off for four, but the next delivery cuts back and flattens his leg stump. Not what Hampshire wanted so soon after tea, and Felix Organ comes out to join Keith Barker.

  9. 300 runs

for Lancashirepublished at 16:14 British Summer Time 12 September 2021

    Somerset v Lancashire 301-7

And there is batting point number three.

I don't think Somerset captain Tom Abell thought his side would be in this position when he won the toss and put Lancashire in to bat first.

    Yorkshire 55-3 v Warwickshire 155

    We're back out at Headingley.

Big final session on Day One coming up.

  11. Bedingham reaches milestonepublished at 16:10 British Summer Time 12 September 2021

    Northamptonshire 183 v Durham 31-2

For so long it looked like Durham batsman David Bedingham would be the first to 1,000 Championship runs this season.

Sussex opener Tom Haines pipped him to the milestone in the last round of matches, but Bedingham has now reached four figures by reaching eight not out at Wantage Road.

Four runs square of the wicket off the back foot took the South African from 996 to 1,000.

    Hampshire 178-6 v Nottinghamshire

Steven Mullaney bowls the first over after tea and finds some swing - but Keith Barker squirts one away for two before adding a single from the final ball of the over. He is 15 not out and James Fuller has nine.

  13. Postpublished at 16:02 British Summer Time 12 September 2021

    Somerset v Lancashire 288-7

Tom Bailey strokes Ned Leonard away square for four, a far more convincing boundary than that in the youngster's previous over which flew just wide of second slip.

Bailey is now 14 not out, Steven Croft has 42 and Lancashire are getting close to a third batting point.

Two games in play at the moment after early teas were taken at Northampton and Lord's.

Ben Sanderson bowled Alex Lees for a duck in his opening over, but Durham are now 20-1 in the seventh over, replaying to Northamptonshire's 183 all out.

At Lord's, the procession continues with Tim Murtagh and Ethan Bamber claiming two wickets each to reduce Worcestershire to 26-4 after Middlesex mustered only 144 in their first innings.

    Evenly poised.

  18. Tea at the Ageas Bowlpublished at 15:44 British Summer Time 12 September 2021

    Hampshire 175-6 v Nottinghamshire

Three runs from the final over before tea, bowled by spinner Liam Patterson-White - and three wickets in the session for Division One leaders Nottinghamshire.

Hampshire added 122 in the session but lost James Vince, Nick Gubbins and Liam Dawson in the process.

Having begun the game 10.5 points behind the visitors, they must hope the lower order can push the score on as far beyond 200 as possible, while Notts may rue the number of dropped catches during today's play.

  19. Sussex batsmen 'in control'published at 15:41 British Summer Time 12 September 2021

    D3: Leicestershire v Sussex 230-2 - tea

    Adrian Harms
    BBC Sussex commentator

Another good session for Sussex, who are looking to press home the advantage of winning the toss and batting first on a very flat pitch.

The only wicket to fall was that of skipper Tom Haines, who made 71 and passed 1,100 runs for the season.

The only concern for Sussex will be an injury to Fynn Hudson Prentice, who was struck on the hand by a delivery from former team mate Abi Sakande and retired hurt.

Leicestershire have plugged away on a wicket giving little or no assistance to the bowlers, and even with the floodlights on the batsman seem in complete control.

Still no tea yet at Headingley yet.

In the context of this match, Yorkshire are racking up the runs, Gary Ballance has moved on to 38, while Harry Brook has 11.
