Somerset have won the last three matches between these sides but Kent won the previous 11 in a row before that.

  2. Kent 62-3published at 9 overs

Lewis Goldsworthy drops fractionally short and Zak Crawley latches onto it and bisects the boundary fielders for four to mid-wicket. The umpires have a chat about the weather. Let's hope rain isn't going to influence the outcome of this match.

    Kent 53-3

Oh dear, the rain is coming down as Jack Leaning takes a single to backward point to open his account. They are staying on for now, though.

Van der Merwe has completely changed the context of this game to dent the Spitfires innings.

They’ll still think they can reach a good total but they’re losing wickets in clusters which is never a good sign.

Billings c Gregory b van der Merwe 2 (Kent 52-3)

It's another for Roelof van der Merwe as Sam Billings swats the ball straight to Lewis Gregory at mid-off. The Somerset skipper barely had to move for that one - just as well, with his bad back.

  6. Kent 51-2published at 7 overs

Big test this for Lewis Goldsworthy in surely the biggest game of his career so far. Two to mid-on by Zak Crawley brings up Kent's 50, but it's another tidy over for Somerset. Crawley is now 30 not out and Sam Billings has two.

Up until that sixth over it was definitely Kent’s power play but what an over from Van der Merwe.

It changes the momentum in this final.

It’s fairly even stevens but the wicket of Bell-Drummond was important and Kent suddenly need to rebuild a bit.

  8. Kent 46-2published at 6 overs

Fabulous start by Roelof van der Merwe - 2-6 from his opening over. Kent are forced to regroup.

Looks like it's starting to hot up nicely in the Hollies Stand.

Runs are flowing, the burners are going off and now we've got a couple of wickets too. And one of them an absolute stunner!

    Superb catch from Tom Abell.

Everyone's bouncing. Except me. But then I'm not supping what they're all supping!

  10. Kent 45-2published at 5.4 overs

Sam Billings plays an orthodox defensive stroke. He doesn't middle it but an inside edge brings him a single. No hat-trick for van der Merwe.

That’s an incredible catch running back from Tom Abell.

That’s a hard catch at any time but in a final it’s incredible.

Denly c Abell b van der Merwe 0 (Kent 44-2)

What a catch! What a celebration!

Joe Denly is down the track to his first delivery from Roelof van der Merwe but gets underneath it and Tom Abell - placed at mid-off in place of the ailing Lewis Gregory - sprints back and takes a superb catch in both hands.

Sam Billings will face a hat-trick ball.

Look at Van der Merwe’s celebration!

    That’s a massive breakthrough.

They really needed that in the power play.

    Bell-Drummond c Smeed b van der Merwe 18 (Kent 44-1)

DBD carves spinner Roelof van der Merwe's first ball down the ground for four. He times the second even better and it head towards the mid-wicket boundary. Unfortunately, Will Smeed is in the way and he is gone.

  15. Kent 40-0published at 5 overs

Lovely timing by Zak Crawley who puts Craig Overton away to mid-on for four. The next delivery is a wide, slower one and the Kent batsman makes no contact with an attempted drive.

Good running brings Crawley two from the final ball and he is 25 not out, with DBD on 14.

    Great shot from Bell-Drummond.

It's gone straight back over the bowler's head.

That ball was right in the slot and he hit it nicely out of the middle for six.

  17. 6 runs

    Kent 32-0published at 4 overs

Josh Davey overpitches for the first time and Daniel Bell-Drummond belts it unceremoniously back down the ground for a maximum.

A misfield at mid-off by Somerset skipper Lewis Gregory gifts Zak Crawley three runs. Spare a little bit of sympathy for the Somerset skipper, who is not fully fit and will not bowl in this game.

The physio comes out at the end of the over with some water and a tablet.

  18. Kent 19-0published at 3 overs

Poor direction from Craig Overton and Zak Crawley flips it down to long leg for four runs.

An undistinguished cross-bat swish follows and the England batsman is fortunate that it doesn't flick the edge as it flies through to the keeper.

Crawley makes contact with a similar shot to end the over, but can only run through for one as it finds a fielder in the deep. He has 13 and DBD is on five.

  19. Kent 11-0published at 2 overs

DBD is certainly being tested at the start of this final as Josh Davey finds a leading edge. The Kent opener responds by coming down the wicket, but it's only one run to mid-on.

Good over for Somerset - just four from it.

It's a final between one team who managed their semi-final very well and Somerset who this must feel like this is a massive bonus.

It's been a while since either of these sides has won the competition.
