  4. KENT BEAT MIDDLESEXpublished at 21:57 British Summer Time 11 June 2021
    Breaking

Kent (178-8) beat Middlesex (162-x) by 16 runs

Two wins out of two now in the T20 Blast for Kent, who are probably sick of us repeating that they have yet to register a single Championship victory so far this season.

After an uncertain start to their innings, they were revived by a 123-run partnership between Jordan Cox and Jack Leaning, who both made 64.

But the game will chiefly be remembered for an incredible end to Kent's innings as Chris Green took four wickets, including a hat-trick, to finish with figures of 5-32.

Back-to-back defeats for Middlesex, though, to start their T20 campaign.

    Kent 178-8 v Middlesex 159-8

Another Middlesex wicket falls in the final over with Blake Cullen caught after hitting Matt Milnes down the ground. Three balls to go.

  6. WORCESTERSHIRE BEAT NORTHANTSpublished at 21:54 British Summer Time 11 June 2021

Worcestershire (185-7) beat Northants (153-9) by 32 runs

It's all over at Wantage Road.

Worcestershire have followed up their breathtaking tie against Notts on the opening night by now comfortably beating Northants on their own patch.

All sets things up nicely for Sunday when they host 100 per cent 'two wins from two' Lancashire at New Road - an eye-catching showdown to be watched sadly by far too few people.

  7. Postpublished at 21:52 British Summer Time 11 June 2021

    Kent 178-8 v Middlesex 154-7

Fine death bowling by Fred Klaassen, who concedes only a single from the first three balls of the penultimate over.

Luke Hollman then under-edges down to fine leg for four to bring up a 50 partnership with Nathan Sowter, and completes his own half century off 32 balls by clubbing the next over mid-off.

It's his last scoring stroke, though, as a repeat from the final delivery ends up in the safe hands of Alex Blake. Middlesex need 25 off the last over.

    Kent 178-8 v Middlesex 145-6

Nathan Sowter is refusing to give this up as a lost cause and chips a ball from Grant Stewart over mid-wicket for four. Three singles follow before Luke Hollman absolutely belts the final delivery away for six.

He is 43 not out, Sowter has 28 - they have so far added 47 and Middlesex need 34 from 12 balls.

  9. HAMPSHIRE BEAT ESSEXpublished at 21:46 British Summer Time 11 June 2021
    Breaking

Hampshire (155-6) beat Essex (142) by 13 runs

Two deliveries into the final over and Jack Plom is bowled by Brad Wheal.

That's Essex all out. What a defence from Hampshire!

    Northants 141-8 v Worcestershire 185-7

All home hope was already almost lost when Saif Zaib is run out by Ed Barnard off the first ball of the penultimate over.

Sam Cook run out (Crane) 4 (Essex 140-9 v Hampshire 155-6)

18th over, 22 needed. Three singles to start. A dot. A two. And then another wicket to finish as Sam Cook is run out returning for a second.

Essex will need 16 off the final over to win.

Hampshire can end it all with another wicket.

    Kent 178-8 v Middlesex 131-6

Fred Klaassen bangs in a short one, Nathan Sowter tries to upper-cut and balls flies away for four off the top edge. Sowter is doing his best for his side, with 22 off 16 balls, but they need more than one boundary an over. They now need 48 from 18 deliveries.

  13. 6 runs

    Kent 178-8 v Middlesex 124-6

Last ball of the 16th, bowled by Jack Leaning. Nathan Sowter is down the track and that is six. Middlesex need 55 off 24 balls.

  14. Postpublished at 21:39 British Summer Time 11 June 2021

    Essex 134-8 v Hampshire 155-6

But hang on, Essex are fighting back at Chelmsford. Number nine Jack Plom has just launched D'Arcy Short for six.

With two overs to go, Plom steals the strike. 22 needed to win.

  15. Northants need 65 off four overspublished at 21:38 British Summer Time 11 June 2021

    Northants 123-7 v Worcestershire 185-7

Northants' very slim hope rest on Saif Zaib, who has raced to 27 off 15 balls.

He is joined by Graeme White

  17. Postpublished at 21:37 British Summer Time 11 June 2021

    Kent 178-8 v Middlesex 111-6

Nathan Sowter slams a ball from Grant Stewart over mid-wicket for four, but it looks like too little, too late for Middlesex. They end the 15th with 68 still needed from five - more than 13 an over. But Luke Hollman is well set on 30 not out.

WICKETpublished at 21:34 British Summer Time 11 June 2021

    Aron Nijjar c Holland b Wood 2 (Essex 123-6 v Hampshire 155-6)

    Another massive wicket!

Essex still need 33 from three overs. They've only scored six runs from the last 12 balls.

Jack Plom joins Simon Harmer (nine not out) at the crease.

    Darren StevensImage source, Rex Features

Chris Green couldn't repeat his earlier bowling heroics for Middlesex - he has gone for 16 and guess who took his wicket.

Yes, it was Darren Stevens, who claimed his third victim as the Australian dragged the ball into his stumps. He has finished his evening's bowling now, with figures of 3-32.

  20. Northants in troublepublished at 21:31 British Summer Time 11 June 2021

    Northants 100-7 v Worcestershire 185-7

Wayne Parnell, Rob Keogh and Tom Taylor are all gone in quick succession - and Northants are facing a heavy home defeat by Worcestershire.

Skipper Moeen Ali, who bowled superbly to take 2-15 as his side rescued a tie against Notts on Wednesday night, again does damage with two more scalps.

He has Pears old boy Parnell stumped by Ben Cox, then removes Keogh, caught by Ben Dwarshuis in his next over. And Cox then runs out Taylor.
