The difference was that Shafali Verma and Smriti Mandhana played positively, even in defence. We didn't see that from Raut or Raj when they came out and that's what cost them their wickets.

But India do bat deep, it's worth remembering that when they come back tomorrow.

    Alex Hartley
England World Cup-winning spinner on Test Match Special

I can see England bowling India out here and try to bowl them out again. 247 is the follow-on target, I can't see England not enforcing the follow-on if it comes down to it.

But I can't get over what we've just seen in the last half hour or so.

England's Sophie Ecclestone, speaking to Sky Sports: "It shows what Test cricket is all about, everything happens all at once. It was about who cracked first and obviously they did. We had to dig in and once we got a few wickets, they started to tumble. That last hour was great, being able to have all those catchers around the bat."

They want to keep Harmanpreet Kaur on strike here because she is a prized wicket.

It was bat then pad! Kaur survives. This is a crazy end to the day's play! I love Test cricket.

  13. India reviewpublished at 59.1 overs

Has Ecclestone struck again? Vice-captain Kaur is trapped lbw and it's given out. Kaur reviews. Did she get some bat on it?

England's fielders are sprinting between overs. They are properly sledging too, with players all around the bat.

  15. Ind 183-5published at 59 overs

Fielders crowded around the bat. England full of life. The two batters are Harmanpreet Kaur and Deepti Sharma, both yet to score. What a brilliant session for England this is turning out to be.

A terrible misjudgment from Raut there. Again is this inexperience, not being used to batting out the overs at the close of play?

  19. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 58.2 overs

    Raut lbw b Knight 2 (Ind 183-5)

    India are falling apart.

Awful decision making from Punam Raut who shoulders her arms and leave a straight delivery from Heather Knight. The replay shows it would have gone on to hit leg stump.

  20. India reviewpublished at 58.2 overs

    Ind 183-5

England have another as Raut is struck on the pads!

But India are reviewing - this looks SO out.
