Cor, that really is some team.

Sophie Ecclestone, rocking some blue sunglasses, is doing well here and looks like the bowler who could break up this partnership.

Verma almost clips the spinner to mid-wicket, the ball falling just short of Nat Sciver. The India opener then adds one more to her boundary tally with a thick edge down to third man for four.

    Verma 58, Mandhana 51

Brunt just couldn't get her line right in that last spell. Shrubsole bowls full to Verma who punches to mid-off for a single.

But a good over for England, Shrubsole varies her length and keeps the India batters thinking. Just the one from it.

Anya Shrubsole replaces Brunt. The faster Brunt bowled, the further it went so I think Knight has sensed that.

It's Sophie Ecclestone v Shafali Verma.

    The world's top-ranked T20 bowler v the world's top-ranked T20 batter.

The England spinner tosses up a few deliveries which Verma defends, before taking a single.

50 for Mandhanapublished at 31 overs

    In 112-0

Smriti Mandhana is technically so gifted, anything short and the India opener is on it. This time it's Katherine Brunt who is the culprit, her short delivery pulled through mid-wicket for four.

Make that another boundary, a pull through square leg to bring up Mandhana's half-century.

She's an absolute delight to watch.

Much better from Ecclestone there. She's found her line and length now, she's found some rough outside the off-stump and is using it well.

There we go, that's more like Test cricket. Just the one from Sophie Ecclestone's over.

Verma is on 55 from 91 balls, including eight boundaries and one six.

    Ind 102-0published at 29 overs

India bring up the 100 with a Verma single off Brunt. I was just typing how this was a relatively quiet over, until Verma misjudges a pull which lands just over the head of mid-wicket and short of the fielder running in from the deep.

I'm rather pleased that wasn't given out. I just want to see Verma keep on batting! She's got the most extraordinary power and timing.

50 for Vermapublished at 27.2 overs

A half-century on Test debut for 17-year-old Shafali Verma as she hits Ecclestone over mid-wicket for four.

She's not short of confidence, nor talent. Brilliant.

  18. Ind 94-0published at 27 overs

There's steam coming from my keyboard as I try to keep up with the intensity of this India pair. Shafali Verma makes some space and takes an almighty swing at Katherine Brunt, the ball sailing over mid-wicket for two.

Verma is still smiling. Brunt looks wound up, and Verma knows it.

The England seamer comes back with one that beats the outside edge. Some battle this.

Third boundary of the over! This time Mandhana pushes off the back foot and through cover. A diving Kate Cross can't stop it.

    Eventful over.
